Brilliant brilliant bowling today. And, he's not as bad a batsman if we consider his bowling advantage too! :najam

Need to bowl him and get Dhawan out in the final too!!
 
Needs to bat down the order then it would make sense for him to be part of this list.
 
his overs have been the reason that put a brake on the flow of the runs along with hassan ali.

so people saying that he shouldnt have played are nuts, yes his batting is god awful and cnat buy a run to save his life. But his 10 overs and against left handers he just stops the momentum by by choking on the runs and at the other end, the wicket takers then do their job

His role is to choke and he has done perfectly today
 
Primary job is as a batsmen which he has failed as over last 14 years!
 
Happy for hafeez. He's an effective bowler still. Better if he bats down the order and we get a proper batsman instead of Shohaib and then azhar
 
Credit where due. He bowled very very tight in the middle overs.

If he didn't bowl as tightly, the fast bowlers would have been less effective.
 
He makes your batting line up thin the way he plays in this tournament your bowlers have been great so you have just about scraped through to victories however this strategy is not sutainable long term and either Hafeez needs to find form or be dropped.. He is not good enough to be in team just as a bowler..

He is welcome to bat below Hasan Ali and play as a specialist bowler.
 
His bowling in the last 3 matches has earned his place in the team. But he either needs to open or bat lower down the order.
 
Stop insulting us. This man is a cancer to our cricket and is a symbol for the seniority complex that runs through our team.

Then just play Shadab and play FAhim for his batting. We have tonnes of bowling options.

well I think he should bat today at 6

below hassan ali is stupid :) even if out of form, he still is a batsmen better than hassan and rumman

Both his batting and bowling has deteriorated. Don't think it's worth carrying on with a player who is past his best. Especially now we have guys like Imad, Shadab and Fahim to choose from.
 
i dont really rate hafeez badly, he is pretty handy with ball, field until he doesnt chuck and used to fire with bat as well, but should be lower order
 
Poor batsmen, a failure in ICC tournaments. Even if he some how performs with the bat today, he will still remain a failure.
 
Regardless of how well he batted in the end, playing him in the final will be seriously detrimental to the cause of Pakistan winning. Lets not forget he got a chance at the score of 1.
 
Just because the bottler finished the game today with a high, his previous sins will not be forgotten. It is his cheerleaders' day when all the hard work was done by other team members.

I have no problem him competing for a bowling spot, he can't be selected as a batsman. A chicken has stronger nerves than him. Maybe, just maybe Sarfraz's leadership will change his mindset. I have never had doubt about his technique, it was his guts which he has spilled in a tough environment.

He was useful but barely. Bowled on a pitch that suits him but got no wickets, ave 4ish. Imad was more economical. Was lucky not to be out in the first over, then got to smash some cheap runs against a demoralized attack. I'd still say he's past his shelf life and some. If today was evidence of anything it is that if we cant drop him he should bat at 6 or 7...
 
I must be missing something here. With his 0/33 and 31*, why hasn't he been given MOM today. If not for these 2 performances how could Pakistan have won? Bravo Hafeez!

Its okay, this OP also supports the return of Akmal. I remember him and the other Akmal fan arguing with me about how we need Kamran literally a series ago :))
 
Becuase Hafeez stayed not out, OP is going to somehow justify his "good CT tournament" and compare it to how dismal Malik has been.

Hafeez has to really stand up and show some responsibility.

All those years of experience.

Time to give it your all.
 
This just strengthens the argument in favor of him batting lower down the order at 5-6 with Sarfraz coming in at 4
 
Marvelous timer of the ball and the best batsman to watch when on song.

It's pathetic how people hate him despite being the most utility player for us.

And preferred a choker joker like Malik over him. Who can't even put bat on ball against pace .
 
I wouldn't be surprised if he is the MOM today by contributing both with bat and ball.
 
Great knock by him!

The situation demanded him to step up as a senior and he did.

Now needs to keep it tight with the bowl.
