What's new

Mohammad Hasnain - First bowler to hit the 150kph mark this season in PSL!

That was when hasnain had just returned from injury and wasn't as quick as now. If Nasim was quicker than current hasnain surely there would be more hype

Mudassar has been working with all of them for a while.

Naseem shah can bowl around 155-160 Kph. Unlucky to miss out on this PSL. Hopefully he hasn’t lost his pace.

He pings one on the helmet of Pollard. Hurries him for the pace. Best ball of the tournament for me from any bowler.

His last over today was really good. Seems to be quick learner.

Both Polly and Kami couldn't pick his variation in pace. Pollard even got hit on the helmet by a very quick delivery

If I remember correctly, nagarkoti had a very nice action. So I’m surprised he suffered stress fractures. A very smooth action.

Thats how it is. These are young developing bodies. They are not built to bowl 150ks. As the muscle and body strenthens fractures will go.

I seriously hope PCB doesnot make a hash of it if either Rauf or Hasnain has any unfortunate injury.

Videos please.

Agree, that's way Imran Khan picked Waqar and Wasim Akram. When Pakistani fast bowler go through " grooming and polishing" they regress and their action is made to change by some "coaches".

Pakistani fast bowler's best chance is to be discovered in his diapers and unleashed on the world, spend 2-3 years giving everyone a thorough workout, then get injured, spend time on the sidelines chomping at the bits. Then come back savvier, with more tricks of the trade, pace intact.

Consistently playing T20s won’t help him. He needs to bow longer spells to build his bowling muscles.

Need to look at his action again. One particular side on view of his arm in the first video raised my eye brow.

Having said that, good pace. Reminds ne a bit of a young Sami but with brains apparently.

Yeah. The side on view raised doubts in me as well.

They Didn't show last bowl over speed, pretty sure that one bowl to gohar which sarfraz collected at his face was definitely over 150k. The fastest bowl I have seen in this PSL. It hit like a rocket in sarfraz hands at his face.

The second ball of the over Sarf collected at head height and it was still climbing, also the ball wasn't short pitched. This is elite level pace. Akhtar, Lee, Bond category.

Very, very exciting prospect. Please Inzi still him for Aus series :akhtar

It wasn't about height but a sheer impact as well and I think that ball which sarfraz collected on his mouth height felt like a rocket, possibly the fastest he has bowled yet.

Glad I wasn't the only one that noticed this. The ball was absolutely fizzing through in that over. He was serving some serious heat!

Also, I'm so annoyed that they didn't show the speeds in that over. I mean, how much does it cost to just freaking show the speed of every delivery?! Especially annoying when you're watching someone's bowling just to check their speed.

I’m also annoyed at the missing speeds! It’s a travesty that the speeds are not shown on all deliveries... I come onto Pakpassion specifically so that I can see Hasnains speeds and it is frustrating when they are not shown! Poor stuff and shows the unprofessionalism of the PSL/PCB.

Absolutely pathetic that the PSL organisers cannot get the speed gun to work properly.

There were some seriously quick deliveries today either not recorded on the speed gun or recorded incorrectly.

Hang on a minute, one moment you're criticising Inzamam for selecting players just on the basis of PSL performances and now you're calling for someone to be picked on the basis of...you guessed it - PSL !

You raise a valid point and I did criticize him for selecting players on the back of PSL. However, the criticism is mostly for selecting players like Talat or Asif Ali or Shahibzada Farhan who have garbage records but had one or two good outings in the PSL. Show me one post of mine where I have criticized Inzi for selecting Hasan Ali (who is another PSL product) but had an excellent domestic record behind him.

I guess the important distinction might be between bowlers or batsmen. A batsman needs years of development and proper coaching to be a finished product while a bowler can be developed rapidly if provided the right mentorship. Maybe that is why we have managed to produce good bowlers because you need plenty of raw talent and some degree of training/coaching, but to develop topnotch batsmen who need a concentrated effort and years of proper coaching - which we don't have in our domestics.

Came back well today after a bit of a shaky start.

Showed some guts and intelligence in his last 2 overs against IU.

He needs to be there for the Australia series. A precious talent. The sooner he's in the national frame, the better.

He hasn't exactly lit up the PSL but we should remember that Shaheen didn't either.

Ummmm...

Shaheen has a spell of 5 wickets for 4 runs in a game against MS.

To be honest so far he hasn't shown that he has a nag of taking wickets , I mean what is his go to delivery for taking wickets apart from short pitch stuff? He is far from ready in white ball cricket. In red ball cricket he bowls around goodish length and seams it away mostly but also jag back in but with the white ball I am yet to see him consistently moving it around and also I haven't seen him bowling a yorker either, loads of potential nevertheless lets hope he gets in to the right hands (not Aqib)

This is correct. I'm fearing he might become a Talha or Sami unless he's looked after like Shaheen. Pak should keep hasnain with squad and firstly sort out his technical faults as pointed out by Ian Pont and others before he gets an injury as he's injury prone

Yea we should keep him with the national squad as much as possible he may not be ready yet but he ain't gonna learn anything in domestic cricket either,

Waqar likes the guy, there is a video of him meeting the guy and Moin and commenting that he likes the fact that the boy is tall as well.

Yes, that was the spell that got him noticed. But he received quite a few phaintys too.

I think you can excuse any young player a few phainty. It is part of learning, let's see how they bounce back.

Now Stuart Broad cops a lot of flack but he's had a very good career and would walk into majority of Test XI and I remember him copping 36 runs in one over!

Well, Waqar is the one who apparently spotted him last year and got IU to sign him.

The fact that Hasnain is even playing in the PSL is a fluke.

He is only playing because of Naseem Shah's injury.

This shows the lack of knowledge of most of the franchises regarding young players in Pakistan.
