According to reports the squad selected for asia cup and Afghanistan series, Mohammad Nawaz name was never mentioned in the press conference. A 16 man squad was announced. His name gets mentioned alter when a facebook post is shown online which shows a 17 man squad.

Did babar intervene?

Was there no discussion earlier between skipper and selector?

Or just an honest mistake?

It is. But its a major concern that if they were planning to go with two spinners than how were they expecting to win a world cup in india with only two spinners

I’m not entirely convinced it was a good decision.

He hasn’t been performing well as of late - Hasn’t scored many runs nor has he taken many wickets in Sri Lanka.

It would be useful to have an extra spinner but not sure his selection can be justified on merit.

Inzi confirmed at the start of the presser that it is 18 members squad that they are announcing for Afg series and Asia cup however, he only took 17 names. I think Inzi just missed out calling his name, it looked like an honest mistake as he did say 18 members squad initially.

Yes Inzi mentioned 18 members in the press conference so there was no last minute inclusion.

Nawaz still bowls the same way as he started his career in 2016. He hasn't developed any arm ball as of yet nor has he learnt to vary his pace, flight, loop or experiment using the crease or different line, length, field placings.

Ravindra Jadeja in comparison has developed his bowling so much and adds different things every year. He has performed decently in England and Australia. Pakistan badly needs good spin bowling coaches
