We had a failing Sarfraz for so long, and many people said "there is no replacement" for him. Finally when Sarfraz was kicked out, Rizwan, who had excellent domestic performances, was drafted into the team. And immediately he has had an impact - excellent keeper and useful batsman.

Similiarly for Azhar and Asad, even if our batting talent availible is not much, there are still a few domestic cricketers who have 45+ averages in first class. They may not succeed, but it's always worth trying them out. Hard to perform worse than Azhar and Asad these days.

So people who say "there is no replacement" or "no talent" are wrong. It's worth trying those who did well in first class, you never know unless they are picked.

Emphasis on the words "first class" not PSL.

Only time PSL performances should matter is when selecting the T20 side.

So who are 34+ year olds in domestic cricket topping scoring charts in domestic cricket? Azhar Ali was outperforming almost everyone in that age bracket so who exactly is fit to replace him? If you start talking about some 25 year old then this conversation is over

- Sincerely Misbah

Agreed you have to emphasis first class cricket if they ain't getting a chance then is thier any point of having first class cricket

It's upsetting Pakistani cricket hasn't figured this out... that is literally the objective of domestic cricket! Pick the best performers!

Guys your completely right but there is no merits given to first class cricket ,

Perfect example Is shadab Khan , how can you pick someone to play a test match that has played 2 first class games this year ! 2!
