I agree. Rizwan is currently the best test batsman on form especially after the poor series of Pant.

Good team, no arguments although Marnus as opener is a little weird.

What are stats of Elgar and karunaratne ?

Well done India. 3 bowlers including a fast bowler. Thoroughly deserved given their outstanding test performances.

India: 4
Australia: 3
England: 2
New Zealand: 1
Pakistan: 1

Sad to see no Kohli there, but it’s what it is. 😢

But yes it shows how India and Australia are the two top teams currently

Mohammad Rizwan is probably the best wicketkeeper in test cricket now. I am surprised Kyle Jamieson is not on the list.

About right.

Rizwan the only one deserving a place.

He hasn't proved anything outside England and New Zealand.

That is true and it could be the reason why he was left out by Wisden. But, he played a very vital role in NZ's title win. I thought it would be recognized.

How many match winning innings he had played untill now? I know he scored heavily but want to know some clutch performance to count best wicketkeeper currently .

I will change the batting order bit.

Rohit
Kane
Labuschagne
Smith
Root
Rizwan
Jadeja
Ashwin
Cummins
Anderson
Bumrah

Best WK in the world by an absolute mile.

Lol at miles. What is his test record ? Only one test century in 17 test with avarage of 41 .How many test winning clutch knock he played untill now ?Now check pant test record - 3 century in 24 test (lots of 90 scores ) with avarage of 40 . He played so many clutch knock in his short career like Gabba heroic inning which Rizwan only can dream , Sydney (2021) ,The oval , Sydney ( 2018) Ahemdabad (2021). Those innings are against top teams . I'm not even count westindies , Srilanka, Bangladesh , Zimbabwe

I didn't say batsman WK, I said WK and unless you are blinkered, that is a fact. And the fact that he is also a good batsman makes him the best WK bat in the world.

If it's about just Wk then it's has to be Saha .he is by far one of the greatest wk ever had.

Well deserved..
Though Pant has more match winning knocks, Rizwan is better suited for tests with his compact technique..
Pant is turning to be a very painful to watch slog machine..
If he doesn't improve his game, he'll finished in next years.

Good team. Rizwan has really performed well recently.
I just hope his obsession of playing every ball to leg side in T20 doesn't affect his batting in longer format.

Kyle Jameson says hi.

One player from the World Test Champions in the team, but four of the Indians they defeated 3 times in 3 matches.

Who are the Muppets making this list?

Someone who is looking for a job in IPL :))

What a clownish XI by Wisden.

It is very, very annoying to see all these websites, including ICC, select batsmen that bat outside of their position for these team of the tournaments. For the T20 WC team of the tournament, ICC put Babar Azam in number 3, even though he never batted at 3, and his low strike rate would not work at number 3. similarly, it's stupid to have Labushgane at opener, Kane Williamson at 5. Yes, I understand that there are currently a lot of top-class number 3 and 4 batsmen, but the reality is only one number 3 and only one number 4 batsman can be selected. Here are the fixes I made to this current Test 11;

1. Rohit Sharma
2. Dimuth Karunratne
3. Marnus Labuschagne
4. Kane Williamson (c)
5. Ben Stokes
6. Mohammad Rizwan (wk)
7. Ravindra Jadeja
8. Ravichandran Ashwin
9. Pat Cummins
10. James Anderson
11. Jasprit Bumrah

If you want to put Steve Smith instead of Williamson, then Karunaratne is the captain.

Players selected in this team based on their Individual performances and not based on how their team performed...How hard it is to understand...Agreed on Kyle Jamieson part though.. deserved place in the team..even Karunaratne

Rizwan is the best wicket keeper batesman in the world.Rizwan can get in the team just based upon his keeping.

The "World Test Champions" are currently being thrashed by India's C team.

Aus annihilated New Zealand 3 out of three times - so they have more players than NZ.

India in turn annihilated Aus so four Indians are selected.

On one hand I was surprised to see only one New Zealander given their recent record, but an argument could also be made that the NZ "brand" is of a strong collective unit that becomes greater than the sum of its parts.

Confusing thread
I would take Pant over anybody else . His batting has won test series in Australia , England and I haven’t seen anybody as impactful as him in test cricket since gilchrist .

Pant is a high impact player, and extremely exciting, but there are questions marks over his reliability and adaptability.

When did he win a test series in England?

Rizwan has been exposed in WI by holder.

Keep bowling into the stump, he tends to get across way too much and misses the ball. Missed a straight delivery today.

Struggled today vs spin but so did everyone else.

Rizwan really needs to stamp his authority in terms of batting.

Should never bat higher then 6 in tests.

Fawad and Salman agha are not that important that Babar and rizwan have to move out of their positions.

We will get away with a 1-1 in this series but our tactical game has been truly shocking.

He will play vital knocks here and there but consistency will be an issue which is understandable for keeper batsman unless you are a Gilchrist, Sangakkara, Flower, de Villiers or Pant.

Rizwan is BJ Watling of this era.

Pak should stop treating him like a full batsman he should be slotted @6 or 7 only.
