Mohammad Rizwan of Multan Sultans has been named as captain of Team of HBL Pakistan Super League 7 which was selected by the distinguished members of the commentary team.

Rizwan, who was adjudged Player of HBL PSL 7, is one of the four Multan Sultans players who has been selected. The other three are: Rilee Rossouw, Tim David and Khushdil Shah.

Lahore Qalandars, who won their maiden title with a 42-run victory over the Sultans, is also represented by four players – Fakhar Zaman, Rashid Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Zaman Khan – while Peshawar Zalmi (Shoaib Malik), Islamabad United (Shadab Khan) and Quetta Gladiators (Naseem Shah) have one player each.

In the squad, the top-four batters are from four different sides, while Sultans dominate the middle-order, Qalandars provide the bowling firepower.

Squad (in batting order):

1. Mohammad Rizwan (Multan Sultans) (captain & wicketkeeper)
2. Fakhar Zaman (Lahore Qalandars)
3. Shoaib Malik (Peshawar Zalmi)
4. Shadab Khan (Islamabad United)
5. Rilee Rossouw (Multan Sultans)

Take out malik and put in Roy.

Zaman at 3 and that looks a quality side.

Here is my Team of the Tournament

1. Mohammad Rizwan (c) (wk) (MVP) (Best Wicket-Keeper)
2. Fakhar Zaman (Best Batsmen)
3. Rilee Rossouw (SA)
4. Shadab Khan (Best Bowler)
5. Shoaib Malik
6. Tim David (SNG)
7. Khushdil Shah (Best All-Rounder) (Best Fielder)
8. Faheem Ashraf
9. Shaheen Shah Afridi (Champion)
10. Imran Tahir (SA)
11. Zaman Khan (Best Emerging Player)
-------------------------------------------------
12th Man. Shan Masood

number 3 is too high for Shoaib Malik since he never batted at 3, so I put Rilee Rossouw there. The only problem with my team position-wise is that Shoaib Malik, Tim David and Khushdil Shah and Faheem Ashraf are all batting one position down (compared to where they normally bat).

No Karachi player... shows what a miserable tournament this was for them.

Yeah, without looking at the eventual stats, I probably would have gone with Roy or Hales ahead of Malik. Rizwan to offer stability and the rest to attack.

It is a promising sign that 3 of the team captains all made the best XI

to be fair after this year PSL Fakhar needs another go at opening, think him and rizzy could form a proper successful partnership, with a mix of both styles. Babar needs to either move down or drop a format to allow himself to focus on the longer formats.

Lot of positives in this tournament for Pakistan. Also big achievement for Naeem Shan and Zaman Khan to break through. Also Khushdil confirmed that he can be a finisher. Not convinced Riley R belongs to the team. Shadab Khan deserves to be at number 4.

Deserved. A certain someone won’t be happy to see Rizwan in the team, let alone be the captain of it.

9 out of the 12 players from MS and LQ.

Shows how average the other teams were.
