Is that good news or bad for Pak, I think he'd be in the mid 30's by now?

Wahab has slowed down over the last year or so.

He mostly throws it down in the early to mid 140's and his effort one goes to 147 max.

Please not another comeback for Sami. He is not international class and never was.

Was always a good ODI bowler, but a terrible test and T20 international player. Can make it to ODI team which has useless bowlers

Sami is and was brainless and Wahab is in the same league. Pace without a brain is like a unsharpened pencil- pointless.

Fast or not fast - Sami should never play for Pakistan again.

Never seen such a mentally fragile and timid bowler who loses the plot before even bowling - cannot take any sustained pressure whatsoever and is mediocre - even in ODI's.

A poor man's Wahab at best.

He will be the fastest even ten years down the road but sadly that has no bearing on what he does at international cricket. But hey I was always a sucker for pace: let's take him to the champions trophy

anyone else remember that last over against Bangladesh last year?!:danish

It was a no-ball that changed the match.. I think the batsmen also have to be blamed for putting up a bad score on board, you don't defend sub 130 scores every day.. unless ofcourse you are PSL, then any total is defendable

Former Pakistan left-arm bowler Wasim Akram said on Friday that older players still have a role in modern cricket due to their experience.

Wasim, who currently serves as director of cricket of Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Islamabad United, said he believes that a mixture of youth and experience is always positive, especially in the T20 format.

“Older cricketers still have a role to play,” he said during the PSL tie between Islamabad United and Karachi Kings, which the latter won by eight runs under the D/L method. “Our average age is about 29, which brings a good blend of youth and experience.”

Talking about veterans Misbahul Haq, Shane Watson, and Mohammad Sami, the former left-arm pacer said that the reigning PSL champions definitely benefit from their inclusion.

“In T20 format, you can lose quick wickets, but we have Misbah and Watson [to rely on],” he said. “Additionally, Sami has been great for us. Even though he is 36 or 37, he can bowl up to 149 kph, which has been the quickest in this competition.”

Speaking on the success of the PSL, Wasim said that in three to four years’ time, Pakistan would witness an improved quality of cricket due to the league.

“With the onset of PSL, youngsters are learning a lot and seeing what the greats of the game do to succeed,” he said. “In three or four years, we will have more young Pakistani boys in the national team who can compete at the international level.”

He's not the first bowler to have received a spanking in t20s and won't be the last..

What has he done that someone like Amir or Junaid Khan didn't do?

Amir's last over yesterday went for 18 runs vs Shane Watson..

Junaid Khan received a spanking from Watson in the 1st game, went for atleast 16 runs in the penultimate over, which also cost Zalmi the first game

Sami is the most unreliable bowler. Cant be relied to bowl at any stage of the game , whether to get wickets or save runs. He is no good at all.

Sami always had the pace .

Very smooth action , its really interesting that even at that age , he is the fastest in Pakistan

I watched Sami bowling a little. What i saw was some dude who put on some pounds.
As far his bowling, he was hitting mid 130's. I saw Wahab, Usman Khan, Amir.... hitting 140

I think he still has a place in the T20 team... I'd rather have Sami than Wahab to be honest
