Oh I remember that series where Pakistan lost to Srilanka after winning first game & then last two were lost due to pace bowler injuries, in second innings the opening bowler in one the matches were Salim Malik & Ijaz Ahmed, the great stop gap of a Captain Ramiz Raja has that unique record of losing a series to Sri Lanka , in one inter view I read where Ramiz threatened injured Zahid if he did not bowl now he will never be selected again, for a young player that must have been a great shock!!
Hence for me Ramiz Raja never again got the respect as games commentator , just spouted nonsense .

Yes that's the main issue . Ignorance at its best . It's not a matter of overs he bowled . Srilanka is very humid place . Player is feeling back pain, thinks he cannot bowl should not bowl , senior most player advices don't give him the ball and ignoring all this Ramiz says Koi nai shabash carry on its just a niggle. Zahid didn't have attitude issues for Ramiz to think may be intensionally he is saying that to me etc.

Remember what a quality bowler he looked whe pakistan won tri-series in Australia against Aussies and W.I and he looked some talent, sadly injuries did ruin his career and one can only think what would have happened if he had an injury free career.

Wouldn't modify too much. Just would make his upperbody go slightly side on to take stress off his back, it would also give him a smoother arm rotation. It's a simple fix which could be done by a slightly angled run-up instead of a straight one.

ok. I wasn't serious anyway. was he really quicker than shoaib? correct me if I am wrong but Sami was close to shaoib in terms of average speed right?

He was fast but was he skillful enough to be ATG? He played a few tests and ended with average of 33.
