Mohammed bin Salman orders release of over 2,000 Pakistani prisoners from Saudi jails

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday night had made a special request to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to look into the hardships of Pakistani labourers working in Saudi Arabia.

On Monday morning, the Saudi Crown Prince promised to do "whatever we can do" for Pakistanis living in Saudi Arabia, according to the Dawn newspaper.

A while back, Pakistan's Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry announced that the Saudi Crown Prince has ordered the immediate release of 2,107 Pakistani prisoners in Saudi jails.
 
This is the impact of having a sincere leader like Imran Khan; Saudis have also promised to invest $20 Billion dollars. They will aim to invest annually :)
 
Good job. A Pakistani leader doing something for the common man as opposed for his dodgy billionaire self.
 
so wait, a drug smuggler will now be deported back to Pakistan?
 
Positive news. Hopefully most of them did petty crimes, have learnt their lesson during this period of incarceration and will turn their life around.
 
Well done Imran Khan. He cares a lot about his people. One could sense the pain through his voice when he was making this request.

I thought his haters will at least commend him for this but they hit a new low every time.

Most cases range from expiration of visa to fall out with their sponsors. These are poor Pakistanis who went to Saudi for work. Smugglers are executed in the kingdom, not jailed.

If you don’t have anything positive to say, then please don’t say anything at all mr shahrukh!
 
Nice, hope they release everyone else jailed for harmless crimes too regardless of their nationality.
 
Imran Khan is an absolute legend of a leader already!

We have the likes of Trump and Obama before him bowing down and tip toeing in front of Saudi Royals but this man get ups and say free the Pak prisoners which the Prince does immedialty!

Btw drug smugglers dont rot in jail in Saudi , they are usually given capital punishment.

That’s no big achievement if you compare with this - Nawaz Sharif once said to Saudi Royals to free a Pakistani prisoner from Adyala and give him a palace to live in Jeddah and they did that immediately :)
 
Must be something for a US Senator Lindsay Graham who is by history anti Pakistan and was very sceptical of Imran Khan but after one meeting with him, being completely mesmerized and urged President Trump to meet Imran Khan asap stating both have the same style and personality and should click

Yes, I believe it was given to him due to his efforts on improving ties and his confidence in investing in Pakistan.

No he gave them billions in military hardware and the US has been protecting them for decades. Or do you think those bases are there for show? Pakistan refused to join the war in Yemen, US has been invovled since day 1. Pakistan gave him a civilian award while the US will kill people for them, work out which is a better way of dealing with nations and leaders while keeping your own dignity.

US does for influence boss, do you know how.much USA has profited from Saudi ? Petro dollars was a thing.
The very reason Saudi is Saudi coz USA ,if not would be like Venezuela

lol. I know the history of Saudi and it's relations to the west. Imran Khan has not bowed down to Saudi as the US leaders have done. The war in Yemen should give you a clue or two.

You have a leader who wants to take people out of poverty, improve education for children, give the youth employment etc. I would have thought Indians would be the first to understand this given the huge amount of poverty in their land but they seem to hate on Pakistani people having a better life. Why live with such emotions in your heart? :(

Bitterness as they would like nothing better than to batter Pakistan like the USA does to Muslims. Except here the frustration is they know they can't do any of that and now the grand isolation strategy is failing as well so expect more frustration.

From picture removing to Reliance....I have been surprised, this is a nation of a billion people aiming to be a super power.
 
A day after Prime Minister Imran Khan’s directions, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) brought back more than 300 nationals stranded in Malaysia.

In a tweet, the national carrier stated they were proud of their crew who flew the special flight and “brought home 300 plus Pakistanis who were stranded”

According to a statement by the Foreign Office (FO) a day earlier, a special aircraft of PIA was to bring home 320 Pakistanis nationals lodged in Malaysian jails “but stuck due to the cancellation of direct flights between the two countries”.

Most of the individuals were imprisoned due to the expiry of visa or residence permits, the statement added.

This is terrible from IK, he should be using the PIA to go to London to get treatment and then come back with his family. The PIA is not there for the benefit of the unfortunate poor.

Is it an achievement? No way, he should have brought some food stuff via PIA and that would have been an achievement.
