Multan Sultans (206/4) comprehensively defeat Peshawar Zalmi (159/9) by 47 runs in the PSL 6 final

Maqsood should have never been dropped from the T20I team. Despite his inconsistency, he is the best hitter in the country.
 
This partnership is simply unreal. The final slipping out of Peshawar's hands.

When the total goes north of 200, it becomes Zazai or bust.

Yes true but he batted at 5/6 when last played for Pakistan and he was doing decent job he cant bat at 3 thiers no space for him but thier is space down the order and still will do a decent job.

Shan and Rizwan gave us a very decent start. Sameen's first over was fantastic and losing a wicket there would not have allowed these two to do what they have done today. When there is good bowling, there is absoluetly nothing you can do apart from not losing your wicket and then you capitalize later on. This is the PSL final and in a big game like this, it is very important to give a good start without losing too many wickets.
 
Clearly masood n rizwan were v poor on this pitch...as no spin has been used tahir cud be the trump card here

Zalmi had no spinners. One would think this was a seam wicket in NZ or ENG.

If Zazai does not fire. Zalmi will loose. Law of averages is against Zazai.
 
27/0 after 3 overs, with Kamran having scored all 27 of them.
 
Lot will depend on Malik once again but 200+ is a very difficult target.
 
PZ with 36 runs on board and all scored by Kamran.
 
Just look at Dahani's ability to work with a specific plan against Kamran given to him by his Captain and coaches.

Was that even outside off stump? Looks like he just unnecessarily moved inside of it to lift it over the off-side. Could've stood his ground and whacked it over square leg.
 
Kamran is partly responsible for zazai dismissal. He was itching to get going but kamran didnt look for singles at all to give him the strike
 
This unfit/Fat leg side hack missed a catch earlier and now lost his wicket because Multan had a perfect plan against him. Even a day before yesterday, an easy catch was dropped by the opposition's keeper because he does not know how to play on the off side.

This is what Ramiz Raja said is put his partner under pressure and slow down the rotation of strike. He'll be itching to go and will end up playing a loose shot.

True, i guess he was confused by the change of pace and that impacted his overall execution.
 
Dahani’s first over changed the momentum I think and then Muzarabani and Imran also carried on from there.

Those who know cricket knew why the platform laid by Shan and Rizwan was important, rather than taking unnecessary risk and being two down for not much
 
We were going to expose this fat leg side hack one way or another because we clearly had a plan against him from the ball one.

Maybe because you were the only one who saw his form in National T20 cup? Economy of 6.63 and average of 18 on those flat wickets and high scoring matches. :smith

Absolutely. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, almost every T20 team would take 56-57/0 in 7 overs as a start.

Yes the 4 overs from 8-11 could have been utilized a bit better after such a start with no loss and I think Rizwan faltered in execution today on that front.

Saw some glimpses of him in NT20. But mainly followed him in the recent matches of PSL where he has been exceptional.
 
The reason behind multan sultans success is they are not playing bits n pieces. Those who can bat/bowl but will never put in an impactful performance. They've got proper batsmen and bowlers.
Whereas in pak team we play at least 3 such players. One of them is vice captain

Shadab has hardly been playing recently for Pakistan due to his fitness issues, but his performances when he has played lately have not been up to the mark. Pakistan issue, however has not been Shadab but TIKA players selected as batsmen, who are simply not good enough, and also Haider Ali who is not yet ready
