Talk about opportunities for big-city players vs the smaller ones
This guy is a must for limited overs cricket, showed he can play aggressively, had a good tournament.
yeah but he was absolutely rubbish on the A tour.
yeah but he was absolutely rubbish on the A tour.
He failed to finish one of the matches where he was batting on 50 and only 10 were needed off last over
He single handed lead his team to that point, without any support, it happens.
He is weak against pace bowlers thats why he failed to finish that game
As much as i have seen he isn't dynamic enough against pace bowler, though very good vs spin
Yet again proves himself that he belongs to the modern era of cricket, but the selectors are ignoring him so far, he can bowl as well, can be a useful cricketer for us, plus his fitness level is good, a good package.

On the other end did anyone see his partner's stats? Jaahid Ali scored 29 of 64!!
This is what you call contrasting selections.
TalentSpotterPk - that's exactly why Fakhar was excluded.
Brilliant knock today from Fakhar but he probably would've been more challenged in domestic cricket than by this Zimbabwe A team which other than Chatara, its bowling attack is pretty impotent.
Is this the reason of him not making the Odi Squad vs West Indies ?
3 years ago he looked great against Mohammad Irfan in his peak when he was hitting 150 kph. He also dominated Ajmal in his peak.
Don't know why he started crouching while facing pacers which was not in his technique and method 3 years ago.
In Pakistan Cup we saw him struggling against good pace bowlers while he was good against spinners.
He is a very consistent Run-getter. Hats off to him but He struggles against decent Pacers. He is excellent against spinners. If He stops crouching so low against pacers and uses his top hand more than his off side play against good pacers will improve and he will be more efficient against pacers.
England Tour was a Big Tour for him and he was ahead of both Sharjeel & Jaahid for a Pakistan Call but Sharjeel (with all his weaknesses) & Jaahid (with his compactness) outperformed Fakhar Zaman considerably hence He did not make Pakistan Odi Squad.
I think we should give Sharjeel all three ODIs in this series. If he averages under 35 against Windies attack in this series, then Fakhar could replace him for the next ODI and T20 series.
I agree, but regardless of Sharjeel's performances, Fakhar is a must for the upcoming series.
This shouldn't have mattered, still had a decent S/R, and the average was ok.
What was the Logic to Drop Sharjeel for Fakhar when Sharjeel significantly comprehensively outplayed outnumbered Fakhar Zaman on England A tour ?
Fakhar was far behind Sharjeel, Babar & Jaahid on England Tour.
There should be some logic in Criticising Selectors.
Fakhar has not been dumped by Pakistan Selectors. He is in Pakistan A squad for a reason despite having an Average England Tour but for that you won't credit the Selectors but if he would have been dropped by Selectors than you would have grabbed them from their neck as you lately recommended firing Inzamam ul Haq as Chief Selector as he did not Select Ahmed Shehzad for Odi Squad after Pakistan Cup.
First get Fakhar as the back-up batsman in the squad. At the moment we have too many pacers in the side and few back-up batsmen.
Also kudos for finally ditching the "get Shehzad in the side" mantra.
The selectors don't make selections based on spreadsheets, a players form is a very important factor in their selection and Fakhar was outperformed by a country mile on the England tourThis is what I am saying, preferring one series over career statistics is a joke, plus he outplayed Sharjeel and Jaahid in the Pakistan Cup, the selectors should have been lenient.
But, anyways, he is a must for the upcoming series, if not select again, then the selectors must be fired.

Not good enough. Left handed Shehzad. Maybe a bit better
i know zim is not a good team at all but still this guy performed extremely well so what u think of his chances of playing in Pakistani odi team in top 4 position
he performed pretty well vs eng A as well
these are his last outings in zim
81, 31, 180 , 19,0
He is a lefty so he should get a chance if Sharjeel fails.
Sharjeel is undroppable my friend. It's Azhar who needs replacing.
Not suggesting as such. I haven't seen enough of Fakhar.Yes but not by this guy
Hundred for him in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy final.
That's good, but I don't think he has had a good domestic season. Has he?

Averaging almost 50 for the season now. 2 hundreds 3 fifties, one was a 98.
Oh nice... Completely slipped under the radar. All we were hearing this season was Kamraan Akmal and Usman Salahuddin.
got owned by england lions in england
Performance on a tours to sa eng aus nz should be the benchmark
Left handed Shehzad.
I agree that Fakhar deserves a go, but Shehzad deserves a recall as well, he performed very well in the recent tournaments and it seems like he's getting mature, at least you can't say this much about the likes of Umar Akmalwith Sharjeel and Latif out, Azhar probably on the way out, Sami having failed, and Shehzad being Shehzad, and Hafeez laying golden ducks all over... Zaman may be the best LOI opener available
There is no point in offering a player a chance when they're simply not good enough.Lol typical reaction from "fans".
Give him more time.

There is definitely a point when he seems to be one of the best of your handful of alternatives. With Sharjeel and Khalid potentially gone, we have Fakhar/Imam/Shahzaib as the only few openers who seem to be untested and have actually been performing lately.
If you're not interested, feel free to revert to Kamran Akmal and Ahmed Shehzad.

Kamran Akmal is better than this guy and I don't even want him in the team. Have you even seen this guy bat? Or are you just looking at his misleading stats on cricinfo like the usual people?
Fakhar is incapable of scoring against the faster men.
We don't need a spin bully.
Under performed last season as well....
I have watched enough of him to make a judgement. You all are speaking as if you've seen him bat in tons of games.
Yes stats aren't everything, but they are still a good enough indication a lot of the times. And it would be more logical to give someone who can put up numbers a decent run, because most can't even do that.
Fakhar hasn't played in a lot of televised games, so I suggest we give him more PSL games and then judge.
If you believe otherwise, name alternatives.
I have watched enough of him to make a judgement.
Statistics are a joke in Pakistan and the majority know that.
Imam Ul Haq is twice the batman Fakhar is.
