It seems like a war between Bangladesh backed Rohingya terrorists and Myanmar’s rebel group Arakan army.

ground reality is that the rebels are fighting against everyone around. BD is trying to contain them by training Rohingyas who migrated from that area into BD. Those Rohingyas obviously consider that part of the country as theirs and are willing to lay down their lives to secure that. Right now the rebels seems to have some kind of an upper hand and have taken some land in both BD and Myanmar. Myanmar doesn't seem to be putting their heart into quelling this in the hope that once all this is over Rohingyas take more of BD land and they can all go there..
