What's new

Name 6 players you feel should come into the Pakistan T20 team post WC 2026

Not following domestic much.

It doesn’t look like we have any capable batters coming up. Which is shocking and a real worry.

That Sameer Minhas U19 blinder was the only thing that properly announced a batsman is coming up, but he’s too young and likely not international class yet.

I see random names being thrown around like Nafay, Sufyan, Maaz, Arafat.. etc etc. But if they were really talented or international class we would have seen more of them.

So running chatgpt i found below list of top domestic batsmen (upcoming talent)

Focusing on the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy (QeAT), the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons have seen a massive surge in young talent. Moving away from established stars like Babar or Rizwan, here are the top 10 "new faces" and emerging domestic performers based on recent First-Class (FC) cycles.
Top 10 Emerging QeAT Batsmen

In the 2024–25 and 2025–26 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy (QeAT) cycles, several "new faces" have emerged who play with a much higher tempo than the traditional red-ball anchor.

While a strike rate of 50 is considered standard for First-Class cricket, these players are pushing into the 70s and 80s, signaling a shift toward a more aggressive domestic style.

Players To Keep An Eye On

* Shamyl Hussain: Currently the most exciting red-ball prospect for those who love "Bazball." Maintaining an average of 64 while striking at nearly 77 is rare in Pakistani domestic conditions.

* Saad Baig: The youngest player to reach 1,000 runs in a season (2025-26). He is a natural "intent" player who rarely lets the bowlers settle.

* Mohammad Huraira: Although not strictly a "brand new" face, his strike rate of 82.41 is among the highest for any recognized opener in the history of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, making him a perpetual candidate for the national Test side.

* Maaz Sadaqat: A standout left-hander who brings a T20-like aggression to the four-day game. His ability to score 70+ runs per 100 balls has made Peshawar one of the most dangerous teams in the current cycle.

Technical Note: In red-ball cricket, these strike rates are significantly higher than the domestic average (which usually sits around 48–52).

These are for T20 format

In the Pakistan domestic T20 circuit (specifically the National T20 Cup 2025 and the lead-up to the 2026 T20 World Cup), there has been a significant shift toward "impact players" who prioritize strike rate over traditional anchoring.
While established names like Babar Azam remain consistent, the domestic scene is currently dominated by high-risk, high-reward "new faces" and re-emerging power hitters.

Top 10 Pakistan Domestic T20 Batsmen (High Strike Rate Focus)

| Abdul Ali | Faisalabad | 4 | 48.50 | 197.96 | 60 |

| Hasan Nawaz | Islamabad | 10 | 33.25 | 175.00 | 100 |

Power Hitter Profiles
* Mohammad Faiq: The current "gold standard" for domestic aggression. Striking at over 205, he is arguably the fastest-scoring recognized batsman in the country right now.

* Sahibzada Farhan: He is having a legendary 2025-26 run. Not only does he lead in runs, but his average of 121 combined with a strike rate of 189 is nearly unheard of in T20 cricket. He was recently rewarded with a top-3 ICC ranking.

* Hasan Nawaz: Often called "The
Islamabad Slogger," he specializes in the powerplay. His 175.00 strike rate makes him a frequent candidate for the national squad as an opener.

* Abdullah Fazal: A newer face from Karachi who showed incredible maturity, averaging over 115 while maintaining a strike rate that keeps the scoreboard moving at 150+.

The "Intent" Factor
In the current domestic structure, the Pakistan Cricket Board has shifted focus toward SR (Strike Rate) rather than just total runs. Players like Mohammad Haris and Usman Khan may have lower averages, but their ability to strike at 155-165 from the first ball is what the national team is currently scouting for.
