Just as Farhan proved his mettle in domestic cricket and we’re seeing the positives, it would be best to select players who consistently grind there and rise to the top.
 
Wait for psl. Take it from there and give extended rope to anyone new.

Also, just gotta drop couple of guys maybe like Babar (or he opens if stays), Shaheen, Shadab (i am okay with his batting though, he can play just for that alone and occasionally an over or 2 in helpful conditions, honestly we dont have good backup batsmen ready)

Note that with same team we just beat Australia 3 0 at home. We competed decently with England. India game is always an aberration plus they are number 1 so its okay if we are not beating them given our skills and ranking.

And lastly, forget about 11 all rounders. Play more specialists.
 
I have read the news today that Shadab Khan will replace Salman Agha as T20 captain if Pakistan fails to qualify for the semi-finals.

Is this even possible, seriously?

We need a similar approach , like when Dhoni, as a new captain, phased out senior players and brought in a fresh group that went on to win the inaugural World Cup.

No more Babar, Rizwan, Shaheen and Rauf in T-20 Cricket.

Shadab should only play if he has played 1-2 seasons in domestic cricket.

I believe Nawaz will be in Hesson's plans. Nawaz is only effective on spinning wickets. His hard hitting with the bat is under utilized. He has opened the batting in domestic cricket. I would have used him as a pinch hitter, he is wasted lower down the order.
 
You can pick a World XI and make them represent Pakistan.

Team will still loose as long as manhoos Naqvi is the chairman
 
I don't care who it is, as long as they show consistency in their performance, which would NEVER be a selection priority in corrupt Pakistan.

How do you plan on making this happen?

Besides Rauf, all others are captains of their PSL franchises

None of them have or will retire from T20is announcing that they are shifting their focus on Test/ODI cricket

Why do you think saim, nawaz shadab and co failed?

Because they were made part of the international team based off psl and u19 cricket.

They were not developed, thus as unfinished raw cricketers they had their early highlights and than failed massively


Maaz sadaqat is not developed. You bring him in now, you have another haider ali, who will give u a few good games and than will be a dud later on.

Khawaja nafay played one good innings for Quetta, and failed in rest. Yet based on that performance he is in national team and he is not even good.

Point is, the 6 u mentioned, u would be mentioning 6 replacements for them in an year.

Like havnt we learned anything from the Hassan Nawaz flukes?
 
Don’t want youngsters coming in unprepared to international cricket. It doesn’t work. We’ve seen that, even Saim is struggling and he is the best of them.

Let them get consistent in domestic and only pick them when they are ready. If we have to suffer in the period before until they are ready so be it. Too many talented batsmen have had their long term career ruined because they were picked early and then never had time to properly develop as batsmen. Honestly we’re probably better off not picking any batsmen until they’re 24 or so.

India has that talent to replace, Pakistan hasn't. No matter who will Pakistan replace they will be below average team
 
Kamran Ghulam (currently out of favour with the selectors) could be tried in this format

Hassan Nawaz deserves a second chance
 
If it was possible I would kick out everyone apart from Usman tariq and farhan.

Others are terrible without any performance. They deserve nothing but the boot along with garland of shoes while riding a donkey.

Pakistan should welcome them when they come to Pakistan with this celebration.
 
Pakistan desperately need some decent middle order batsmen

We should give long rope to Irfan Niazi, Qasim akram

Mubasir khan who is a domestic senior now with decent stats can be tried as well. I think his game is suited to middle overs and he’s a handy offie

Maaz as opener

Irfan, Mubasir, Qasim and Haider as potential middle order options

Abbas Afridi as pace bowling all rounder
 
I’d probably just go heavy on PSL performances. Not sure abdullah is amazing but he’s been performing at 3 and right now would do a better job than Babar or Agha. I’d give Usman a go opening before dropping him completely.

A top 7 of something like

1. Farhan
2. Usman
3. Abdullah
4. Hasan nawaz
5. Irfan niazi
6. Haris (wk)
7. Nawaz

I think this sort of line up would most likely be strongest in PSL at least. They might fail at internationals, but feel it’s even less likely players that fail at PSL somehow will perform in internationals.

Abdullah was good in babar type role in PSL plus he’s a better player of spin

I don’t know why he wasn’t even considered by Hesson and they just went blindly with babar at 4

This will make the side very stable. Other than slip catch Abdullah shafique is a positive for T20 side. ANyway you don't keep slips in T20
 
The idea to dump whole team is always nonsensical and childish, but yes some of the dead wood needs to be cut and that includes

next 15 can be

Have you seen his performance so far in t20s since he was left out of the side?

Absolute garbage.. You should watch Shaheens' games against Lions for latest sample. He was totally a minnow level batter atm... His confidence is gone... He should play more domestic games atm...

Maaz, Shamyl, mehran, sufiyan deserve a spot atm.

H Nawaz shouldn't have been dropped in the first place. It completely killed his momentum and confidence.

I think he is the most technically sound batter since the retirement of Younis Khan. He can also hit well (scored a 45-ball century once).

Salman ali agha made him bat at 4-5 for the sake of his own batting... totally ruined him in the process..

Why stop at 6.. Faheem and Usman Khan are no less. Their role and why exactly are they playing for pak is also unclear.
