National Dialogue Committee condemns PCB’s action against Naseem Shah​


The National Dialogue Committee (NDC) has condemned the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for issuing a show-cause notice to national cricketer Naseem Shah.

The notice was issued in response to a social media post in which Naseem Shah expressed a critical opinion about Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

“While we recognise the right of any organisation to uphold its codes of conduct, we assert that the PCB’s action in this instance represents a dangerous overreach that undermines a fundamental pillar of democracy: the right to peaceful, critical expression,” the committee said.

The NDC was formed by former PTI leaders, including Fawad Chaudhry, Dr Shahzad Waseem, and former Sindh governor Imran Ismail.

If Naseem is so honest, principled, ethical he should question performance of his fellow players who have hijacked the national team since last 7-8 years without performance. He should also question culture of nepotism in the team and the prince like treatment his teammates are getting since years

The moment he does that he will understand his real value in the team.

Exactly. Naseem is in the national team since 2019 without any significant achievement and himself got princely treatment but he has tweeted like he is some kind of Imran Khan, Wasim Akram or Miadad.

Such kids needs some basic education.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced the outcomes of disciplinary committee proceedings pertaining to breaches of various clauses of Naseem Shah's Central Contract and the PCB Social Media Guidelines.

The PCB had issued a show cause notice dated 27th March 2026 outlining the violations and sought a response for Naseem.

A personal hearing was then held by a three member Disciplinary Committee on 30th March 2025 after Naseem Shah's reply had been received and reviewed.

Pursuant to the hearing and evaluation of Naseem's submissions the Committee has determined as under:

Whilst noting the unconditional apology tendered, Naseem is found to have breached various clauses of his Central Contract and a fine of PKR 2 crores has been imposed.

It was noted that Naseem Shah's social media adviser has already been terminated by Naseem and shall be blacklisted by the PCB from associating with any player falling under the PCB's jurisdiction.

The PCB remains committed to upholding professional standards, contractual obligations and the integrity of the game.

He owes it to his employers, not some legal system. Where has Naseem involved the legal system? PCB can just deduct from his contracts, can stop picking him in international teams, ban him from PSL etc. Its not like two people putting case on each other, he owes it to the people who literally employ him.

All they can do is deprive him of future assignments, things doesn't work the fashion as you mentioned above. Stay order is too common and easy to procure

Mate, contract doesn't work in that fashion...speaking from experience. In Pakistan legal system, this fine is too big to extract without legal complications

PCB is finding creative ways to increase their revenue - first fining all players, now getting money from Naseem Shah.

Unlikely to play again under the chor government. You have the interior minister also being pcb chairman . This clown spends more time looking at cricketers while his country is at war with domestic security at an all time high . They are all incompetent fools , which naseem was pointing out .

Breach of contract is a feeble excuse aimed to keep their low iq supporters happy . This woman is a witch , has no role in cricket and is subject to public scrutiny being a politician. Naseem or any other voter has a right to ask questions of politicians who are suspected criminals .

Have PCB conducted and investigation using some cyber team and concluded that Naseem Shah account was not hacked?

Yes it does seem unlikely, but claiming hack is usually a good off ramps for all parties. Naseem can look sheepish and Maryam can continue to practice her witchcraft.

But these buffoons have imposed a massive fine anyway. Without investigating they have labelled him a liar.
 
I just converted PKR 2 crore into USD, it’s about $72,000. It’s not a big deal for Naseem.
The only concern is his future and how the PCB is going to handle him, considering the politics involved.

Bro 72,000 PKR you may have had a point but 72,000 USD is a big sum to pay as a fine for anyone. Not sure even a billionaire will be happy.

Which comedian got banned his video? Dhruv rathi, kunal kamra, Ravish kumar has made fortunes by abusing Modi day and night and their content is consumed unrestricted.

As i said before. Basically, celebrities give their social medias to their pr account managers, who post stuff on their behalf.

Basically what must have happened was that the account manager was a youthiya, ended up posting bakwas on social media, forgot to switch the accounts.

Hopefully that youthiya is fired from his job.

Naseem will have to bare this, because its his account.
 
Someone should contact his manager and corroborate his side i.e. his Naseem protecting himself and throwing him under the bus?
