The National Men’s U19 One-Day Cup is set to begin on Sunday, 21 September as 18 teams from 16 regions will go head to head in Charsadda, Muridke, Peshawar, and Sheikhupura in a total of 72 group matches along with a final the PCB announced on Friday.

The final of the tournament has been slated for Tuesday, 14 October, while the venue for final will be announced later. The PCB has set aside a prize pot of PKR 3.475 million with the winner taking PKR two million and the runner-up getting PKR one million.

The best batter, bowler, wicket-keeper and player of the tournament will get PKR 100k each, while player of the final will be awarded PKR 75k. The tournament also marks the continuation of Pakistan’s build-up towards the next iteration of the ICC Men’s U19 World Cup 2026 in Zimbabwe and Namibia.

The 18 teams have been divided into two groups with the Group A comprising of Abbottabad, Faisalabad, Karachi Blues, Lahore Blues, Larkana, Multan, Peshawar, Quetta, and Sialkot.

The Group A matches will take place at Sheikhupura Cricket Stadium, Rana Naveed-ul-Hasan Cricket Academy, Sheikhupura and Lahore Country Club, Muridke Ground 1 & 2.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Bahawalpur, Dera Murad Jamali, FATA, Hyderabad, Islamabad, Karachi Whites, Lahore Whites, and Rawalpindi make up Group B.

The Group B matches have been scheduled to take place in Peshawar’s Hayatabad Sports Complex, Mir Awais Cricket Ground and Shama Cricket Ground and Ishfaq Cricket Ground in Charsadda.

Each team will play eight matches in their respective group before the two table toppers from each group will face off in the 14 October final.

Lahore, 21 September 2025: The opening round of the National Men’s U19 One-Day Cup 2025-26 produced emphatic performances across both groups, with Lahore Region Whites, Bahawalpur Region, Rawalpindi Region, Peshawar Region, Abbottabad Region, Faisalabad Region, Quetta Region and FATA all recording wins on the first day of action.

In Group A, Peshawar defeated Lahore Blues by 32 runs at RNCA Stadium, Sheikhupura. Zain Ullah’s unbeaten 82 and Ahmed Hussain’s 71 lifted Peshawar to 246 for five, before Muhammad Seyam’s three for 32 sealed the win as Lahore were bowled out for 214 in 48.3 overs despite Ali Hassan Baloch’s 81.

At Sheikhupura Cricket Stadium, Abbottabad chased 237 with authority to beat Multan by eight wickets, led by Uzair Ali’s unbeaten 114 and Muhammad Shayan’s 83 after Sadeeq Aman had taken three wickets.

At Lahore Country Club, Faisalabad defeated Sialkot by three wickets, chasing down 219-run target with Muhammad Daniyal’s unbeaten 71 proving decisive after Hayyam Khan’s 71 for Sialkot.

At the other game at Lahore Country Club, Larkana defended 145 to beat Quetta by 39 runs. Larkana’s Faisal Rehman picked up 4-21 in 10 overs.

In Group B, Lahore Whites began strongly with a 140-run win over AJK. Batting first, Lahore piled up 319 for five, courtesy of unbeaten knocks from Naveed Ayub (68 not out) and Husnain Abbas Dar (55 not out). In reply, AJK were restricted to 179 for eight as Saad Nadeem claimed four for 40.

Bahawalpur reaped a massive 203-run victory against Hyderabad, built around Waleed Iqbal’s superb 152 in a total of 318-7 in 50 overs. Salman Ahmed and Haseeb Ahmed then shared three wickets each to dismiss Hyderabad for 115 in 34 overs.

At Hayatabad Sports Complex, Rawalpindi Region outplayed Karachi Whites by 115 runs. Ali Mehdi’s 83 was the backbone of Rawalpindi’s 219 all out in 45.5 overs, before Hamaz Hussain Shah ripped through the Karachi batting with figures of five for 15 to bowl them out for 104.

Meanwhile at Mir Awais Stadium, Dera Murad Jamali were dismissed for just 22 in 10.4 overs against FATA. Muhammad Tahir took five wickets for four runs in two overs, while Taimoor Ali picked up four for four in 5.4 overs. FATA cruised to 23 without loss in only 1.5 overs to secure a 10-wicket win.

Second round of the tournament will be played on 23 September.
