Akif on fire! Shan and Hafeez his victims

Mashallah ducks for both malik and hafeez. Misbah is definitely going to select them now.

Saif isn’t that impressive. Got out to playing wild slog

It shows how big of a failure this NCA is, no concept of technique improvement. 99% of batsmen in national t20 are leg side sloggers.

He seems to regressing.

Basically i have said it all along there is no talent in Domestic to take over..so how can we blame selectors for bring TTFS...I do believe though bowlers should be given a chance batters we need desperate off

Imam is def on of the top talent in pak.... no idea why he gets soo much hate..

People think that everyone who is related to an ex cricketer and he plays for Pakistan is an example of nepotism without judging the player on merit.

These kind of personal likes and dislikes along with different kind of biases you see here from some posters are glimpses of the things which we need to improve on in the cricketing culture.

our history is spitted bcz of such issuse in past... the worst is Shakeel Sheikh and his son Arsal Sheikh... I saw in last year Pakistan cup, Islamabad region did not pick an emerging cicketer other than Arsal so tht he gets to play every game... In semifinal, he being their spinner, didnt even bowl a single over....

wow what a hack he is...gone second ball talk about giving chances to domestic..haider should have been given

The brothers of mediocrity Hafeez and Malik producing another performance befitting their combined 40 years experience I see.

Nice to Balochistan find their mojo in the T20 format after some losses in the QEA Trophy.

do we have a reason why soib Akhtar has never been given a chance at international level..i believe he can bowl a bit too

yes medium pace bowler. Plays proper cricket shots not a hack at all. Brilliant striker, but maybe too old now bro.

hez never made that BIG score to be brought into the line light...

lahore Qalanders havent used him properly..he was more than decent for them at the top of the order but then was demoted to middle/lower middle order to accommodate some non-performing international cricketers... similarly nortern have pushed him down the order... his best position in T20 is at the top... where he is playing today.. hope he scores big

What does Haider Ali have to do to get a game? He sat out the first two games to see a TTF like Naved Malik, who is never getting anywhere with his life, fail miserably on both occasions. As if that wasn't soul crushing enough, now a leg-side hack like Ali Imran replaces him. Any international side will figure out how to bowl to these leg side hacks like Ali Imran and Mukhtar Ahmed in one over. Haider Ali is a supremely talented youngster, who reads the game well, can build an innings and has incredible hand-eye coordination. This is a youngster who has consistently impressed at U19, who needs exposure, this is the perfect stage to phase him in against international bowlers like Wahab etc but no we must have TTF's like Naved Malik and Imran Farhat hogging places in a 6 team competition.
This is why we can't have nice things.

i think i agree for sure he is too old now maybe and missed the boat but also he has never been used properly..Haider Ali will get a chance i am sure

He was the highest scorer as opener and 3rd highest scorer overall in QAE trophy 2016-17 with 848 runs the season before his debut.

He played 11 matches with an average of 49, HS of 200 with 3 100s and 3 50s.

Is this enough elaboration for a guy who was 21 then and was youngest amongst the top 10 batsmen of that season?

Either people dont do their research or there are simply personal likes and dislikes as there is no other way to understand this.

Imam is far better than any Pakistani batsman except Babar

He was decent in WC against Australia, Bangladesh, England, Afghanistan

His lofted cover drive against spinners is treat to watch.

I would like him to play in National T20 as well but honestly I would be more satisfied for him to play full QAE season and he has started well too and ideally the one day cup as well next year.

Agreed but, that shouldnt effect the ability of posters to see everyone on individual basis.

too big words... Best batsmen for Pak team are Babar and Harris... i personally rate Harris above babar.. and i hope he can score more than babar as well (which will be phenominal for the team)

Imam is def the no3 on tht batting chart.... but not above harris bro

most def..... Imam deserves his place on pure merit... not sure if i would put him in the T20 slot as well but wont mind. he is much better than the slogger Fakhar...

Abid Ali with him in the ODI format sounds good... Him and Shaan Masood in test and him n Babar in T20 ....

Since PSL 2019 I have liked the look of Ahsan Ali. Plays fearlessly and has enough shots to support his style of play. He needs to work on his fitness and then can be given a go at T20 internationals as an opener.

However brisk 20,30 isnt enough for ODI cricket. His average of 28 in list A suggest that he goes the same way even in 50 overs, though I dont mind it but then like Jason Roy or any other successful aggressive opener he needs to work on playing long innings.

well saffy has failed again...i am thinking thats hundred percent his 20 20 pak career over for sure..

Sindh was probably the weakest team in this tournament considering the batsman they have were not suitable for T20 cricket.

As we have all been saying for last year or two that Rizwan makes the LOI team as WK batsman on merit and Sarfaraz needs to go based upon any merit.

Hopefully sarfraz fails and Shadab gets a phainta

Not sure how sarfraz can retain his captaincy with such poor form. Should have been sacked after the CWC. Now he is a passenger captain, can’t score runs against second string Srilanka side and now against the local bowlers.. he should go back to domestics to find form and then return.

Thank you for explanation but I have come to know that he has been given preferences over 11 other batsmen which score more than him, have to check that, anyways he is a good test bat for future but I still doubt his abilities as an odi opener, Hope we find an agressive opener and replace these outdated players. He can play for the time being for sure

When will these idiots realise Saud Shakeel is a top 3 Batsman in White ball cricket. Any lower and he will not succeed. Already the seniors in Domestic cricket have held him back by a few years

Faisalabad, 17 October 2019:

Northern beat Sindh by 66 runs in the 10th match of the ongoing National T20 Cup at Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium.

Imad Wasim-led Northern scored 191 for seven in 20 overs after opting to bat first.

Sohail Akhtar cracked a 36-ball 63, smacking six fours and three sixes, and crafted a 102-run partnership with Umar Amin, who scored 36 runs from 25 balls which had two fours and three sixes.

Late blows from Asif Ali and Imad Wasim helped Northern post an imposing total.

Asif scored 30 runs – which had three fours and two sixes – at a strike rate of over 187 and Imad scored 27 from 19 balls.

Once again, Mohammad Hasnain was the pick of the bowlers for Sindh as the right-arm pacer picked up two wickets for 32 runs.

The opening pair of Khurram Manzoor and Ahsan Ali provided a decent start to Sindh’s chase but once the two batsmen were back in the pavilion, Sindh lost control of the chase and were all-out for 125 in 17.4 overs.

Ahsan’s 29 off 20 - with three fours and a six – was the best batting performance in the innings.

For Northern, Shadab Khan led the attack with three for 28 in four overs. Mohammad Amir picked up two wickets for 18 runs.

Sohail was named man-of-the-match for his batting exploits.

At the end of the fifth day of the National T20 Cup, Balochistan lead the points table with six points, coming from three wins, while Northern and Sindh are placed second and third with two wins each.

At the bottom of the table are Central Punjab with a single win in three matches. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Southern Punjab, placed at four and five, also have one wins each, but their better net run rate see them above Central Punjab.

Scores in brief:

Northern 191-7, 20 overs (Sohail Akhtar 63, Umar Amin 36, Asif Ali 30, Imad Wasim 27; Mohammad Hasnain 2-32)

Sindh 125 all-out, 17.4 overs (Ahsan Ali 29; Shadab Khan 3-28, Mohammad Amir 2-18)

Interesting to see the two weakest teams of the QEA Trophy in Balochistan and Northern leading the table in the National T20.

They have some decent white ball specialists.

Once again I must highlight how refreshing it is to see players actually compete for their LOCAL regions unlike the mishmash of previous seasons and the PSL.
