Lahore Region Whites and Karachi Region Whites secured victories against Peshawar Region and Faisalabad Region, respectively, on the opening day of ABS Developers National T20 Cup 2026 on Saturday night here at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar.

In the tournament’s first game, Lahore Whites’ Farhan Yousaf’s 61 not out and opening batter Muhammad Akhlaq’s 46-ball 58 powered their side to a six-wicket victory as they chased Peshawar’s total of 167-9.

After losing three wickets for 48 runs in the powerplay, Farhan and Akhlaq knitted an 80-run partnership off 47 deliveries to take their side close to victory.

Akhlaq was dismissed in the 14th over after scoring 58 off 46 hitting eight fours and one six. Farhan remained unbeaten on 61 off 31 laced with five fours and four sixes.

Mohammad Mohsin’s unbeaten 17 off nine deliveries, featuring two fours sealed the win for his side with 18 balls to spare. For Peshawar, Mohammad Nawaz picked up two of the three early wickets to fall, while Usman Tariq and Mohammad Imran Jnr dismissed one batter each.

Earlier, Peshawar’s opening batter Yasir Khan (65, 37b, 4x4s, 5x6s) shared a 44-run opening wicket partnership with Abuzar Tariq (26, 22b, 2x4s, 2x6s) before the former departed on the final delivery of the fifth over.

Yasir added another 24 runs for the second wicket with Mohammad Haris (12, 7b, 2x4s) before sharing another 56-run alliance with Waqar Ahmed (28, 26b, 2x4s).

Lahore Whites’ bowlers only gave away 32 runs and took six wickets in the last five over of Peshawar’s innings after they had scored 135-3 in 15 overs.

For Lahore Whites, skipper Aamir Jamal spearheaded the bowling attack, grabbing three wickets for 40 in his four overs. Mohammad Rameez Jnr aided his captain, returning figures of 4-0-24-2. Ubaid Shah and Naseem Shah also had one wicket each to their name.

In the second game of the day, Karachi Whites romped to an eight-wicket win with 17 balls to spare against Faisalabad while chasing 172.

After putting Faisalabad in to bat first, Karachi Whites struck thrice inside the first four overs as Faisalabad slipped from 34 for no loss in 2.1 overs to 39 for three in four overs.

The brisk start before the mini collapse was provided by opening batter Mohammad Faizan’s quick-fire 30 off 13 balls featuring four fours and two sixes before Saim Ayub struck to remove him in third over.

Saim returned in ninth over to dent Faisalabad once again as he got rid of Mubasir Khan with Faisalabad reeling at 57-4 in 8.3 overs.

No.3 batter Muhammad Awais Zafar then shared a 70-run alliance off 41 deliveries with skipper Muhammad Irfan Khan (36, 23b, 4x4s) for the fifth wicket to take their team out of trouble.

With Faisalabad at 127 for five after Irfan’s dismissal in the 16th over, Awais launched a late charge to power his side to 171-7 in 20 overs. He finished unbeaten on 81 off 53 balls, hitting six fours and three sixes.

For Karachi Whites, Saim Ayub and Muhammad Umar both returned similar figures of 4-0-30-2. Pacers Mohammad Hamza Sohail and Saqib Khan removed one batter each.

In reply, opening batter Saim (33, 25b, 3x4s, 1x6) and Abdullah Fazal provided their side with a decent start stitching a 63-run stand before the former fell to pacer Mohammad Zeeshan in the eighth over.

After Zaman Khan removed Saud Shakeel in the 12th over with 88 on the board, Karachi Whites’ Khawaja Mohammad Nafay and Abdullah combined to smash an unbeaten 86-run alliance off 35 balls for the third wicket to take their side home.

Nafay had walked in when Karachi required 84 off 52 balls, and he soon raced to 48 not out off 20 on the back of six fours and two sixes, turning the game on its head. Abdullah remained not out on 76 off 51 balls, hitting three fours and five sixes.

On the second day of the tournament, the Group B fixtures will get underway with Abbottabad taking on Multan in the first match and Sialkot facing Karachi Blues in the second game.

How has Abdullah Fazal not been part of any Shaheens nor PSL teams?

He is one of the few all-format players in Pakistan and he is not in the reckoning anywhere.

Same old rubbish from Iftikhar. Nawaz absolutely horrendous too.

Really enjoyed some clean smoking from Yasir Khan, I’ve always maintained the bloke is a slightly inferior version of Sahibzada Farhan but he hits them bigger and longer than Farhan does.

Didn’t see the Yousuf innings but very happy for him. Good to see young talent that can bat in the middle and smoke them if needed.


Whoever that number 4 is in Peshawar, he is Rubbish player, shouldn’t be in T20s. Iftikhar better off batting at 4 and everyone moves one up.

Akhlaq played quite slow even though he got off to a pretty fast start. Wickets fell early so I guess he took some responsibility. He is a much better player than what he showed in his innings. Good balance and technique to hit big as well.


Well done to Khwaja Nafay too. Looks like he’s ready to take off now. Would love to see Nafay and Saim open for them.

Also I think Abbas Afridi should have been the captain of Peshawar. Iftikhar is the same mould as his warlord Misbah and buddy Rizwan. Don’t need selfish people in powerful roles in Pakistan
 
All the returning Pakistan players featured today but Babar as usual too lazy or stuck up for this?

I hope they don’t play him anyways as he will probably lower the standard with his outdated style of play. Much rather youngsters having a go and keep pushing modern standards

Hopefully multan gets smashed by having imam as a captain and not picking the Minhas bros.
 
Moheer is good batsman, so far the young guns have performed better in this tournament.

Shahzaib with a potential match losing innings. Maybe the PP team got their answer to why he wasn't selected. Given a couple of chances and yet struggled to clear the small boundary.

He would have stood out in PSL last season but IU did their best to bury him (along with Saad Masood).

Nice to see a fantastic knock from Kamran. He's basically been discarded and forgotten about from PCB but this will get him back in conversations, at least for ODI's.

Shahzaib plays a match losing 52 runs off 42 balls knock. That's the Rizwan type of innings they need to completely scrub from their domestic cricket if Pakistan have any hope of improving their T20 game.

Bit harsh on a young player trying to find some form. I’m sure this innings will do him the world of good. He is a talented batsman.

Pitches are super flat, can expect him to find some form which I don’t mind too much since he’s shown his ability for U19 at international level so we know what to expect from him when he’s got the confidence because he has the ability
 
Can someone tell me why is this tournament held right now ? I mean right after t20 WC ?

Shouldn't it ideally be at least 4-6 months before t20 world cup ?

But waise b it is PCB, then can do anything.

The infinite wisdom of PCB & then some clowns will come and say this is good.

The fact that there is a PSL in a couple of weeks makes it even more ridiculous. That said, the amount of over weight players in the tournament makes it look like as if it is a veteran player tournament.

About time someone puts these idiotic commentators in their place. I have noticed from game 1, they are asking idiotic and frankly quite rude questions. Lol at Abdullah telling him you want me to play till tomorrow.
 
Imran Khan Cricket Stadium hosted an action-packed second day of the ABS Developers National T20 Cup 2026, where Abbottabad Region and Karachi Region Blues registered victories over Multan Region and Sialkot Region respectively on Sunday night.

In the opening game of the second round, a superb unbeaten 95 off 48 balls from Kamran Ghulam, supported by a quickfire 30 from 17 deliveries by Khushdil Shah, guided Abbottabad to a dramatic eight-wicket win over Multan Region as they chased down a challenging target of 204 on the final delivery.

Abbottabad needed 19 runs from the last over bowled by pacer Hasan Hafeez. After taking two runs off the first two balls, Kamran smashed the third delivery for six to bring the equation down to 11 off three balls. He then collected two runs off each of the next two deliveries, leaving Abbottabad needing seven from the final ball, with six required to force a tie.

Kamran could only sky the last delivery — a waist-high full toss — and Abbottabad managed just a single. However, replays confirmed the ball was above waist height, resulting in a no-ball and giving Abbottabad a lifeline with five needed from the extra delivery. Khushdil, who was batting on 24 at the time, finished the contest in style by pulling another full toss over fine leg for six to seal a thrilling victory.

During the chase, Abbottabad lost opener Sajjad Ali Hashmi for 17 with 45 runs on the board. Shahzaib Khan then scored a steady 52 off 42 balls, adding 79 runs with Kamran for the second wicket before falling soon after completing his half-century. With Abbottabad requiring 80 from the final 38 balls, Kamran and Khushdil produced an unbeaten 81-run partnership to guide their side home.

Multan had earlier recovered from early setbacks after slipping to 16 for two within the first three overs. Debutant Moheer Saeed top-scored with a commanding 76 off 41 balls, while Bismillah Khan contributed 45 from 30 deliveries as the pair stitched together a 113-run stand for the third wicket.

Late fireworks from Muhammad Shahzad, who struck an unbeaten 54 off 26 balls, helped Multan post a formidable 203-6 in their 20 overs. For Abbottabad, Shadab Khan was the standout bowler, finishing with figures of 3 for 35.

In the day’s second fixture, Karachi Region Blues successfully defended their total to defeat Sialkot Region by 40 runs after bowling them out for 161 in 19.4 overs.

Karachi Blues, who were asked to bat first, got off to a strong start through opener Ahsan Ali, who struck a brisk 50 from 27 balls including five fours and three sixes. He added 40 runs with Usman Khan for the third wicket after the side had reached 56 for two.

Usman then anchored the innings with a powerful 81 off 39 deliveries, smashing nine fours and five sixes. After Karachi Blues slipped from 96 for three to 106 for six following a brief collapse, Usman joined forces with Jahandad Khan to stage a remarkable recovery. The pair added 88 runs for the seventh wicket in just 34 balls, propelling the total close to 200.

Karachi Blues were eventually bowled out for 201 in 19.2 overs after losing their final four wickets for just seven runs, with Abdul Subhan claiming four wickets.

In reply, Sialkot struggled early and were reduced to 79 for six in the 11th over. Among the top-order batters, only Abdullah Shafique offered some resistance with a quick 28.

Captain Usama Mir mounted a late counterattack with an entertaining 63 off 31 balls, featuring six fours and four sixes, and shared a 46-run stand with Hamza Nazar. However, the effort proved insufficient as Sialkot fell short of the target.

Khalil Ahmed led Karachi Blues’ bowling attack with excellent figures of 4 for 27, while Shahnawaz Dahani picked up two wickets. Spinners Mohammad Taha and Mehran Mumtaz also chipped in with key breakthroughs.

Match 6 - Toss update

Faisalabad region won the toss and choosed to bat first against lahire region region at Imran Khan Cricket Stadium Peshawar.

Note: Match reduced to 16 overs-a-side due to delayed start.
 
On Monday night, Karachi Region Whites and Lahore Region Whites emerged victorious against Bahawalpur Region and Faisalabad Region, respectively, during the third day of the ABS Developers National T20 Cup 2026 at Imran Khan Cricket Stadium.

In the first clash, Karachi Whites defeated Bahawalpur by 12 runs via the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method after rain cut the match short, leaving Karachi at 78 without loss in nine overs while chasing 186.

The DLS victory was largely built on a blistering powerplay, during which the opening pair racked up 58 runs, putting Karachi 12 runs ahead of the par score of 66 at the nine-over mark. This marked Karachi’s second consecutive win in the tournament, with fixtures against Peshawar and Lahore Whites still to come.

The chase was anchored by an unbeaten opening stand between Abdullah Fazal (25, 21 balls, 3x4s*) and player of the match Saim Ayub, who notched his 21st T20 half-century with 53 off 35 balls*, featuring seven fours and two sixes.

Saim also contributed with the ball, taking 2/43 in four overs, including the prized wicket of Bahawalpur’s top scorer Mohammad Faizan Zafar (49, 33b, 5x4s, 2x6s). Pacer Muhammad Umar led the bowling attack with figures of 3/27 in four overs.

Earlier, Bahawalpur had posted 185-8 in 20 overs, with captain Muhammad Imran top-scoring with a 55 off 35 balls (1x4, 5x6) and opener Mohammad Akram adding 25 off 19 balls (5x4s).

In the second game, Lahore Whites chased down a rain-affected target of 107 in a 10-over contest, beating Faisalabad by six wickets with two balls to spare.

Faisalabad batted first after a delayed start, which initially shortened the game to 16 overs per side. Rain interrupted the innings at 42-3 in 4.1 overs, and after play resumed, the match was reduced to 13 overs. A second stoppage at 105-7 in 9.5 overs further trimmed the game to 10 overs per side, with Faisalabad finishing 106-7.

Their innings was bolstered by No.8 Mubasir Khan (26 off 10 balls, 1x4, 3x6s) and a lively start from Mohammad Faizan (21 off 11 balls, 1x4, 2x6s).

For Lahore Whites, Ahmed Daniyal led the bowling with 3/17 in two overs, supported by Ubaid Shah’s 2/25 in three overs.

In reply, openers Muhammad Akhlaq (48, 28b, 8x4s, 1x6) and Mohammad Faiq (32, 13b, 2x4s, 3x6s) virtually sealed the match with a 74-run opening partnership in five overs. Faiq’s explosive hitting included 26 runs in the fifth over bowled by Mohammad Zeeshan, with three sixes and two fours before he fell on the last ball.

Faisalabad tried to fight back, taking 3/11 between 7.4 and 9.3 overs, including a two-wicket over from Mubasir, but it wasn’t enough as captain Aamir Jamal hit the winning runs for Lahore Whites.

On Tuesday, Abbottabad will face Karachi Blues, while Multan takes on Lahore Blues.

It was a bad idea to renovate this stadium when even Gymkhana club ground was the better option. The location isn't even ideal so they had the opportunity to build something entirely new away from the old city center.

That said, it has taken them ten years to build this stadium so this is the best that they have.

People are needlessly complaining about the stadium based on a poor camera quality being broadcast during the National T20.

Higher level broadcasting will make this stadium look much nicer. Ultimately it is the newest stadium in the country. Seeing many high resolution photos of it during good light actually makes it look like a pretty nice stadium

The ground is decent. I've seen it in person.

My issue or lack of it is not about the ground quality but the overall location. This is the almost the center of the city and it's very hard to create a really strong security net here. The benefit is that there's a Serena hotel & a golf course where the teams can stay and the foreign players can have some fun. The way they move teams, the distance from Serena to this place would be less than 10 minutes.

They had the opportunity to build something new in Hayatabad or even farther away from the city to any calmer location of Peshawar but they kept it in the center of the city.

I think it was built taking all the local amenities into consideration, you want as much comfort for the players as possible when they are staying there. Would give them an incentive. I mean maybe I am expecting too much, considering this is Pakistan. This level of foresight is not something that is usually a regular occurrence there so maybe not the reason
 
Now that is a fantastic knock from Shahzaib. Showed power hitting ability and he has a pretty good offside game. The knock shows he should be a much better player than his 73 SR in List A. It's a mindset thing to take more risks to hit boundaries so your SR doesn't fall behind.

His feet always seem planted much Farhan. My guess is that's likely the reason for his SR issue. Farhan started tapping more into his power to overlook some of these issues and Shahzaib may need to do the same. A very encouraging knock and hope to see more of it.

Who’s making these stupid decisions??

Imam has ZERO future in T20 whilst Minhas is Pakistan’s future, this is where he should be playing!
