National T20 Cup 2026: Discussion Thread [from March 7 to March 18]

Abdullah Shafique gone after scoring 96 (53).

The curse continues. Another batter in NT20 who fails to score a 100. No batter has yet scored a 100. Plenty of 90s

Guys i had to go out for a bit but i left it this riazullah guy who apparently os fast but did get smashed today was hitting 6s..can he bat too?

The moment Hassan Nawaz said he’s targeting the number 4 spot in Pakistan team…

My man Damaad khan strut out to the crease at 4 before the in form Khushdil Shah to give him competition!

This kid rizwan spinner is good carbon copy of raiz ul hasan of sialkot or abdul rehman back in the day i think has potential

Abdullah Shafique's 96 eclipses Shahab Khan’s five-for as Sialkot claim top spot

Abdullah Shafique’s sparkling 96 and Usama Mir’s four-wicket burst guided Sialkot Region to a 31-run triumph over Abbottabad Region in the eighth round of the ABS Developers National T20 Cup at Imran Khan Cricket Stadium, Peshawar.

In the day’s second fixture, Saad Baig’s unbeaten 72, complemented by four wickets apiece from Shahnawaz Dahani and Jahandad Khan, propelled Karachi Region Blues to a 57-run victory over Lahore Region Blues. Both sides, however, are now out of the semi-final race.

Group B standings see Sialkot on top, followed by Multan, Abbottabad, and Karachi Blues — all locked on four points, separated only by net run-rate. Lahore Blues remain winless with one game left. The battle for two semi-final berths among Sialkot, Multan, and Abbottabad will unfold on Monday, 16 March.

Match 15: Sialkot vs Abbottabad

Opting to bat first, Sialkot posted 202-6 in 20 overs. After early setbacks at 25-2, Abdullah Shafique (96 off 54, 4x4s, 7x6s) and Hasan Nawaz (57 off 34, 6x4s, 3x6s) stitched a commanding 145-run stand. Despite a late wobble, Mohsin Riaz’s 16* off 9 ensured Sialkot crossed the 200 mark.

Abbottabad’s Shahab Khan shone with figures of 5-25, his third T20 five-for, joining an elite list of Pakistani bowlers with multiple five-wicket hauls.

Chasing 203, Abbottabad faltered to 87-5. Sajjad Ali Hashmi top-scored with 40, while Atizaz Habib Khan (28) and Razaullah (25) offered brief resistance. Usama Mir’s 4-42, supported by Mohammad Ali, Ahsan Hafeez Bhatti, and Shoaib Akhtar Jnr (two wickets each), sealed Abbottabad’s fate at 171 all out.

Result: Sialkot won by 31 runs
Player of the Match: Abdullah Shafique (Sialkot)

Match 16: Karachi Blues vs Lahore Blues

Karachi Blues piled up 206-3 in 20 overs. Ahsan Ali (39) and Shah Raza Naqvi (30) provided a brisk start, followed by Usman Khan’s 21. Saad Baig then took charge with a fluent 72* off 37 balls (7x4s, 4x6s), adding 89 unbeaten runs with Mohammad Usman Rahim (33*).

In reply, Lahore Blues folded for 149 in 17.3 overs. Skipper Saad Nasim fought with 47, while Ali Hassan Baloch (30) and Hamza Zahoor (27) chipped in. The pace duo of Shahnawaz Dahani (4-24) and Jahandad Khan (4-25) dismantled the batting, with Mehran Mumtaz adding 2-28.

Result: Karachi Blues won by 57 runs
Player of the Match: Shahnawaz Dahani (Karachi Blues)

Every tournament you find 4 to 5 140kph bowlers. Every u19 Asia cup/WC you find all our bowlers to be 140kph. Sorry the only one who is ignorant is you. We can't even find 1 proper 140kph bowler for our national team but you find them everyday.
Finding 140k bowler is not a big deal at all for Pak and if you know cricket then you will know we have dozens and if you don’t want to believe it then it’s your choice
The PSL with speed guns will support my claims.

That’s another story that being able to bowl 140k+ after 4 overs and that’s what we lack in our bowlers.

The last bit is true. The new generation knows that the best way they can make money is to become a T20 specialist. There is no monetary gain to be made from ODI and Test cricket so they do enough to be able to effectively bowl 4 overs.

While other countries can effectively manage three formats, the players in Pakistan are incapable of that.

The same old players performing on domestic
The team dynamics will never change until this cycle of domestic failures stops and we either work on players techniques at international level or slowly integrate technically educated players from u16,u19 levels

Karachi Whites and Lahore Whites qualify for semi-finals as last two Group A fixtures washed out

The last two Group A fixtures in the ninth round of ABS Developers National T20 Cup were abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain and wet outfield here at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

In the first match, Lahore Whites and Karachi Whites, while in the second match Peshawar and Bahawalpur were to go up against each other. Karachi Whites and Lahore Whites with six and five points, respectively, after their four matches each, have qualified for the semi-finals.

The last day of matches in Group B will see the other two semi-finalists emerging as Abbottabad take on Lahore Blues and Sialkot face Multan on Monday.

Match 19 - Toss update

Lahore blues won the toss and elected to bat first against abbottabad at Imran Khan Cricket Stadium Peshawar.

Huge slap on everyone who contributed in ousting of Hasan Nawaz from Asia Cup and WT20.

I'm starting to think Pakistan doesn't deserve a player like him.

the problem is that all the 140k bowlers are short and skiddy, so while they may have the pace they are unable to push batsmen onto the back foot, all the tall guys are around 130 mark, but tbh i saw a bit of the national t20 and theres so may short guys, i knew growth in pakistan had stunted in the 90s, but its only now you realise how short so many of the players are.

Rizwanullah is 6.5ft and can bowl up to 146k and Subhan is around same height but 10k slower.

Where is that guy from Karachi who last year clocked 148k multiple times and was the fastest PSL bowler and can swing it too.

Not seeing him play any games this season at all in any format.

Stop giving false information every time. You hype every player to the moon only for them to turn out to be Alan Mullalys. I’ve watched this kid Rizwanullah bowl in current t20 tournament and he is bang average and at tops he is a 136 kph bowler. He has No speed and no line and length. He Was getting carted around by tailenders at the back end of the innings. Will never make it period. No talent.
You even hyped hasan baloach guy to the moon and was like he’s the next Rohit Sharma and he can’t even clear the inner circle ⭕️. Stop hyping any useless players.

i havnt seen rizwanullah, but if he is 6.5ft then the franches or the pcb should definietly invest in him.
Don’t listen to him I’ve watched this kid bowl he’s bang average and top speed he bowls is 137 kph. He was getting smashed by tailenders. He just runs up and bowls slot deliveries and gets carted around. Another trundler and will
Never make it. Period.

Go search Khurram Manzoor interview on YouTube, he is 6ft 5 and has bowled his top delivery at 146k in mar/apr 2025.

There is YouTube video of him from 2.5 years ago where his coach said his top speed was 137k and that was long ago so don’t mix things up now.

May be you know more than khurram and younus khan eh?

He's not good enough. Stop making excuses. You said he's as good as sooryavanshi lol.
Guy doesn’t have a clue what he’s talking about lol hyping any kid up. Half of the pundits in Pakistan are clueless. The players he’s mentioned are all bang average and would struggle in club cricket

I mean the players he hypes are quite rubbish while anyone who is decent he has a problem with.

I hyped Maaz Sadaqat 2 years ago and he is in national team now, I hyped Shamyl Hussain in U19 Asia cup 2024 and he is in national team now.

It’s another story if they get groomed or not.

I also hyped Ali Raza and he is knocking the doors.

Now I am hyping Abdul Subhan and Rizwanullah , mark my words they will be in national team in 2 years time.

Will bump this post in 2028.

I hyped Ahmed Shehzad when he was just 15 years old ( see my first thread on him) and I was talking a lot about him in front of my family and my family jokingly said he is your adopted son.

He's not good enough. Stop making excuses. You said he's as good as sooryavanshi lol.
Never compared him with soorya or any other pak player.

He is definitely talented but lacks confidence and has anxiety issues.

Go watch some videos of him on YouTube where he is in song.

Another talented batter is Usama Baloch but he has some attitude problems and has discarded by PCB because of that.

Go watch his videos as well and you will forget Saim Ayub in terms of sheer eye candy.

Then there is a guy called Ali Shabbir , short in height but is very skiddy and bowls out swinging Yorkers at high pace, played couple of games in T20 as well few days ago in national t20 definitely 140k+ but too short.

When are the semi's scheduled

frustrating competition. No live coverage availabe on ESPN Crapinfo!

Nothing more satisfying than burning the haters with hard boiled facts.

Most these posters have no clue about cricket or talent but just comes here to vent out there frustration of there miserable lives.

Yes hard facts such as Ali Hasan being as good as sooryavanshi or ubaid being better then harmison. Yes we are haters who provide reality checks for your deluded views and understanding of cricket.

Hassan Nawaz show has begun again today. This time against Karachi White. First a backfoot long off six then a learn forward cover drive. All against the spinner.

I am not a fortune teller or super human so some of my identified talent will flop but most of them will go through

And for the record I never over hyped Ali Hasan or Ubaid (who i initially hated for being too slow off the wicket) but just few post of praise for them and definitely never started a thread on any of them.

Both can still make it as they definitely possess enough talent.

Hype kids with separate thread I created actually always gets in to national team.

It’s painful to see that despite being talented initially our players just never get to the next stage and no body in PCB actually cares about grooming these players to make them step up for International Cricket.

What nonsense , players like Shamyl Hussain have bright future , well miracles do happen but rarely on a cricket field specially at international level where the opposition is well drilled and has analysed a players abilities. In case of Shamy Hussain it won't take long for bowlers to figure him out.
