Sidhu is becoming a meme - the day is not far off when this comedian will be laughed at in Pakistan as well. He is overdoing it.

Asking the tough questions here.

I am looking forward to a complete investigation of what (how and why) happened and hopefully Indian justice will take a notice of things.

Respect. First Om Puri now Sidhu showing courage and speaking his mind irrespective of any fallouts that may arise. He is risking his career and party votes. Need more principled men to rose up and expose Modi for the drama he created with blood of innocent people, desrvingly being slapped and humiliation from peaceful and sane Indians.

Why would Pakistanis laugh at someone showing mirror to Modi. Outrageous claim by you.

Sidhu is not taken seriously in India because of his affiliation with comedy shows.
He will be portrayed as a meme by media and social media trolls.

He is taken serious enough to be holding key post, and also India media going on frenzy every time he speaks in favour of Pak. His visits to Pak was a big talking point in India.

Yes he generates good TRP. He is pretty good leader and does speak very passionately about core issues. He is being used as a pawn by BJP and media to show case Congress as soft against terrorism.

If you claim to be democracy you will be questioned on every policy or statement you make. If Modi was the leader of the UK and his party was make claims, the opposition and other groups would question every sentence and demand proof of every claim. Sidhu is only doing his job.

Man's got guts!! Good to see some Siduisms after a long time too:))

He is in Congress now. He has to target Modi. Not long ago when he was in BJP, he was all praising Modi.

You sound like a 70 year old who was very sharp when he was young and now cannot differentiate between right and wrong.

Do you think he would have done the same if there were no elections in the near future? One thing I've observed is there is a unity across parties in Pakistan but not in India during the crisis.

There must be a reason he gave up on BJP, it could be he became disillusioned with what Modi led BJP had become. Better come to your senses late than never.

BJP ignored him and never gave him the importance he thought he deserved. IIRC, he expected a cabinet position in BJP Govt.

Pak elections are done and dusted and IK will be there for another 3-4 yrs.

Indian elections are right around the corner. Opposition cannot side with BJP knowing that BJP is trying to milk votes from this Pulwama episode.

People can say what they want, but a blatant lack of self-respect is looked down upon universally.

Pakistani people are intoxicated by the effect of someone from India calling a spade what it is, but the same "impartial" Sidhu was doing bhangra for BJP until 2014.

Where was his sense of justice for 10 years? It appears that the BJP Hindutva ideology was not a problem for him as long as they were willing to give him the Amritsar Lok Sabha ticket. It also appears that the perception that Modi was complicit in the massacre of Muslims in 2002 was not an issue for him as long as he was getting what he wanted.

All these issues came to the fore and his sense of justice and honour kicked in when BJP refused to give him his precious Amritsar seat in 2014.

Pakistanis who think that Sidhu is showing love for Pakistan - and is criticising Modi and BJP policies out of the goodness of his heart - need to educate themselves over his political history.

This comedian is interested in Pakistan solely for the Kartarpur Corridor, and he couldn't care less about the ramifications of BJP's extremist ideology - all his criticism is for political point scoring only. I have been quite disappointed with the attitude of the Indian opposition.

It appears that winning the election is more important for them than the honour of their country. They are only interested in criticising Modi's policies and are itching for Pakistan to prevail in this conflict so that they continue with their point scoring. They have failed to realise that this is not about Modi's policies anymore; this is about national pride.

This is the time for all Indians to unite and not let their country be defamed in international forum which has already happened, and by using this opportunity to play politics, they have simply made the situation worse.

On the contrary, Pakistani opposition have played a more supportive role which has been wonderful to see. The opposition parties have showed that they are capable of putting their political differences aside in times like these. They have not added fuel to the Indian propaganda and have been supportive of Imran Khan throughout this conflict or whatever you would like to call it.

It is quite ironic to see the opposition accuse BJP of attempting to win votes, when they themselves have left no stone unturned in politicising the situation to the maximum.

Most politicians in third world have no principles and care only about their own status and gains. So Sushi is no different, but it was the BJP that got Butt hurt when he accepted the invitation from Imran. So if Sidhu is returning the attacks he received from them then good on him. It takes a courageous man to question his countries strikes whilst the Pakistan hate frenzy is going on in the country. He has more to lose than gain. As for politicising the air strikes , it was actually Modi himseld who started that by saying my party has done what no previous government has achieved. For this he is being rightly criticised from all sane Indian people and of course the opposition parties would take advantage. Good on them if Modi can risk lives of his soldiers and population to win the election, then opposition can atleast call him out when BJP are distorting facts, and change of statements regarding the success of air strikes

He is simply calling out Modi's recent trash of killing 350 terrorists. The BJP should have known this will be hanging over them if they couldn't prove it.

Sidhu is not the only opposition politician that has openly criticized Modi’s decision-making. Congress has used this opportunity for point scoring, and it has been the policy of the party and not the so-called courage of one individual like Sidhu.

Nevertheless, the point of my post was to make it clear to people that (a) Sidhu does not care about BJP’s ideology and is simply playing politics and (b) has interested in Pakistan is entirely down to the Kartarpur Corridor.

He had issues with Badals who are corrupt to the core.. He just didn't have enough clout in BJP to let BJP fight elections alone away from Akalis and win.

In addition to that he lost his seat to Arun jeitley who lost I believe which must have ****** him off .

It behooves Pakistan to be extra nice to sikhs. There are many ways to influence folks: one is the the Kashmir way which is counter productive and the other is stuff that we are doing giving sikhs easy access to their holy sites.
If I were running Pakistan, I would find ways to increase people to people to contact with South India as well.

He was brave enough to challenge the stupidity orchestrated by modi’s govt and the supportive media.. your comments relating him to meme looks to me like an attempt to make his challenge look ordinary and small.

India needs politicians and leaders like Sidhu. I dream of a day when he becomes PM, and we can finally have peace.

NEW DELHI: Bihar's election office has filed a police complaint against Congress leader Navjot Sidhu, alleging his remark, in which he had warned the state's Muslim community against dividing its votes, was in violation of the model code of conduct. The office has also sent a report to the Election Commission for further action.
In a rally in Bihar's Katihar, Mr Sidhu on Tuesday alleged that Asaduddin Owaisi's party AIMIM was fielded to split Muslim votes. He appealed to the community to remain united to defeat Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the ongoing national election.

"I will like to warn you Muslim brothers, they are dividing you by bringing people like Owaisi. They are raising a new party here, they want to divide and win," Mr Sidhu said.

"If you people remain united, you have 65 per cent population here, here minority is majority, then everything will be overturned, it could lead to Modi's loss," he added.

Mr Sidhu was campaigning for Congress candidate and former Union Minister Tariq Anwar.

Mr Owaisi, whose party has fielded a candidate in Kishanganj, was quick to respond. In his counterattack, he invoked Mr Sidhu's long association with the BJP.

"Who are you trying to unite when you were in BJP for so long? The party is indeed new for him, but Seemanchal's backwardness is old. We will get rid of it," he said.

Mr Owaisi's party has fielded a candidate in Kishanganj, a constituency with a sizeable Muslim population.

The Congress is contesting the national election in Bihar in alliance with Lalu Yadav's RJD to stop the division of the anti-BJP votes. The RJD is contesting 19 seats, Congress nine and Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) of Upendra Kushwaha--who quit the BJP-led alliance in December-- is contesting five.

The Election Commission's model code of conduct bars political leaders from making any communal comments during polls. The political parties and its leaders are also barred from seeking votes on the basis of religion.

The poll body has recently taken stringent action against a number of leaders for comments on religious line. For a similar remark, Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati earned a 48-hour ban on campaigning. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's response to the BSP chief remark got him a 72-hour ban on canvassing.

Siddhu is becoming a joke and a sycophant. warning muslims about bjp is fine, but warning them about Owaisi as a bjp agent clearly shows how less he cares and sees muslims as a vote bank. Owaisi is the leader of the minorities and has fans among muslims, dalits and secular hindus alike. in an ideal world, he should be the prime minister.
