What's new

Netflix Originals, TV shows and Movies

It seems very interesting, have you seen any of the episodes? I've been watching something different recently, an amazon original comedy/drama called Casual pretty decent

I finished the series its a very well done show. Robert you might like to try this as well.

Just started 13 reasons why and I liked the first episode

It gets better, initially i was like white people problems but then at times one realizes have seen so many such instances, ofcourse not entirely.

You guys watch far too much tv. I can barely keep up with one or two tv shows. Eagerly waiting for GoT so that I can drop the fillers I'm watching atm.

Start something like The Wire or The Sopranos. GOAT shows. Don't watch filler

Saw "Anon" a Netflix original movie starring Clive Owen and Amanda Seyfried. Its directed by Andrew Niccol who also wrote and directed "Gattaca", one of my favorite sci-fi movies of all times. This is sci-fi as well but more in the mood of Terminator and Black Mirror. A futuristic world where anonymity does not exist and cops can catch criminal exclusively by accessing their memory at the time of the crime. A rogue programmer/hacker comes along and inflicts havoc on the whole system and keeps getting away with murders.

Visually dark and moody it reminded me of "Enemy" by Dennis Villenevue. I love Clive Owens, his dry sarcastic typical British sense of humor underscores the movie well. Not so sure about Amanda Seyfried. Overall, a visually and atmospherically engaging and cool movie while also presenting us with interesting questions and thought provoking topics for debate regarding loss of privacy and individuality in our rapidly interconnected and transparent social media world.

Highly recommend "Money Heist" ( La Casa de papel).

One of the least promoted and hidden best TV show on netflix, only 2 seasons. Obviously, First season is better than the second.

Just binge watched the 2 seasons, 22 episodes in 3 days, wow what a series, definatley worth the watch!

“The Man In The High Castle” is brilliant. It is a bit slow in the middle of the first season, but top-class aside from that. The second season is even stronger, more tense and more bold than the first, with the utterly epic finale episode paying out in a major way. Looking forward to the third season.

This is me. I only watch box sets which are widely considered as greats, tried quite a few which are recommended by fans of a genre only to find them a real chore and often amateurish. Even Peaky Blinders was a bit too much style over substance for me, watched the first season and it was ok, but never bothered with the others.

I still have that on my watch list on Prime, started the first episode then turned it off as it didn't really catch my interest. Maybe I'll give it another go and see what it's about.

Started watching The Rain recently - looks pretty good.

Has its moments but still second tier for me.

Watched The Rain.

Danish series of 8 parts.

It never really took off, stayed at the same level and overall it was disappointing.

80% of GOT is filler :ashwin

Just started watching The Staircase.

In December 2001, novelist Michael Peterson called to report that his wife Kathleen had fallen down a set of stairs in their Forest Hills mansion and died. The authorities disbelieved Peterson's story that Kathleen had fallen while drunk and concluded instead that he had bludgeoned her to death, most likely with a fireplace poker which was discovered missing from the house.

This was excellent. Highly recommend it.

Also just watched Haunted. A 6 part series where individuals who think they have seen a ghost, ghoul, or think they might be possessed talk about their experiences.

Binged Castlevania two seasons. I'm not much into Anime but this was really well made. Looking forward to the season 3.

Recently started watching Queen of the South, the actor that plays cartel boss / corrupt governor could body double for IK if he was looking for a new career.

Anybody seen Lost in Space?

I think it's pretty cool.

Have you seen The Crown? It's fantastic.

I haven't seen this yet but have been told it is meant to be good, I watched End of the F World, I am Leslie :))) pretty good show to be honest, I got the Bonnie and Clyde vibe; it seems like a one and done so there wont be another season by the looks of it ? I suppose the closing stretch must have confirmed that as well but you never know. I kept thinking he would actually take her out but that seemed a little predictable, I suppose it made it more enjoyable to see them develop genuine feelings for each other in the end. Man Alyssas dad was such a douche, I wish he got stabbed.

Will do once I finish DD s3, watching the first episode looks like they will play up the influence of his faith again and his internal conflict with it which then takes the shape of the Devil of Hells Kitchen in the dark, relate to this fella :yk

One of my house mates is from bangalore he keeps telling me to watch the crown as well he really likes the show, The Pillars of Earth is another under rated show but am not sure if it is on Netflix

Sad to see you getting acquainted with Indians. Sell out after all, eh?

This movie is on Netflix (think it is an original) and many have been recommending it to me, it is said to be a very creative action/thriller/horror movie.

I did watch the first episode actually. It's alright I guess. More of a teen show with a little bit darker theme.

It has good reviews, may give it a watch. Apparently it's a darker version of sabrina the teenage witch.

Yeah reviews are good. BTW the lead actor is the same girl who played the role of Sally Draper in Mad Men. She sure has come a long way since then.

Wow!! I kept thinking I have seen her somewhere, I need to watch Mad Men again, the last time was around about 2011 or 2012 but it was just the first half of the season, also check out The Night Comes for us

What is it about?

What is it about?

It as been described as uniquely violent, stylish, and engaging as the director Tjahjanto establishes himself as a force to be reckoned with when it comes to creating a gore-soaked action film unlike anything we've seen before.

After I finish Daredevil then.

I watched it with the wife because she was a fan of the original show (honestly!) the first episode was meh, but the second one was decent. It has potential.

I use to watch the original to as a kid, think it was on CITV :yk Will give this a go because of the consensus and also seems a great watch during Xmas period given the premise at this time of year

The Missus doesn't like a lot of the stuff I watch so I try and keep her sweet by watching something she likes once in a while. This show is perfect for that, and I am hopeful it will be pretty good watching anyway.

shaz619 dude WTH they axed Daredevil.

Jessica Jones and The Punisher will also be cancelled after their upcoming seasons.
According to rumors, there are 2 possible ways the Marvel netflix shows are going.

1) The shows head directly to either the new Disney+ streaming service or Disney-owned Hulu, with the same casts and showrunners.

2) The characters are rebooted and brought into the mainstream MCU on the Disney+ service or even movies.

Pity. They were actually quite good.

Man was gonna start watching Punisher after this semester, but that sucks.

Also gonna start watching that new chef show. Seems like less drama, higher competition and properly qualified chefs.

I'm gonna start watching The Last Kingdom. Heard pretty rave views about it.
Also finished Brooklyn nine nine. Not a bad show to watch.

Brooklyn Nine Nine is better than, ' not a bad show' tho it is all subjective.

It grows on you yeah. I didn't like first few episodes much as it all seemed too cliched and repetitive but as the show progressed it started to get better.

whaat? yay kya? ok definatley going to the streaming service now..Daredevil and Punisher were my favourite and I'm a comic geek..well lets see how this goes.

Yeah apparently this is Disney reclaiming their property for their own streaming service.

But Arham_PakFan if they move to Disney wouldn't they have to cut down a lot on their adult content and violence?
Think the show would lose it's appeal with the new toned down version. Same goes for Jessica Jones if it gets cancelled.

Not necessarily. they could create the Marvel knights imprint for TV..more mature content..

Doesn’t necessarily mean all shows on Disney will be PG rated.

What? First season of nine nine remarkable!
Parks and Rec , Nine -Nine are my fav comedies so might be biased but what you didn't like in first few episodes?

Last kingdom is addictive but I liked Vikings more, maybe don't like the bias towards England in Last Kingdom compared to other way in Vikings.

Daredevil s3 was really good, after Defenders debacle really didn't expect much from Daredevil but it was very good.
Netflix is going to lose a lot of subscription if Marvel leaves, not a fan of Disney owning everything literally from Marvel to Lucasfilms,Pixar what's remaining?
They haven't done any innovation on their own but bought and invested in those subsidiaries, which is difficult to I understand but something is so 'Big corporate stinks' bout them.

Brooklyn Nine Nine is a pretty decent show. Season 6 is out in around a month. Luckily NBC picked it up at the last moment

Maybe, that's why I'm hoping it rather moves to Hulu where most of their mature content will go. If it moves to Disney+ they will probably cut down on the mature content.

Really upsetting to be honest, am on episode 4 at the moment of the final season. I read somewhere it is costing them 100 million to keep Friends for another year, maybe these recent cancellations are more to do with licencing / demand of other content otherwise it would make sense to ditch the Iron Garbage and keep Daredevil when quality / demand for the original content is an issue, this seems to be more of a business decision. I hope they bring back the TV show at some point.

Marvel got acquired by Disney. Disney has started to yank their content from Netflix.
Netflix has started to divest itself from any future development of Marvel owned programming which Disney will have rights to.

Been watching Friends for the last couple of week and I'm into season 7 :inzi2
Read somewhere that it wont be on Netflix after January 1st so I got to hurry up

It's not a Netflix Original but it is on Netflix, you should all watch The Good Place because I have impeccable taste and you know you can trust me when I say it is very good.
