Given that Mohammad Amir will open the bowling in ODIs, who do you think is the best new ball partner for Amir in ODIs?

That's pretty obvious. But Captain Tubby is hellbent on keeping Hasan for the middle overs because of his impact.

Of the three of them, Faheem Ashraf is probably the better option.

None of them come close to Junaid Khan though.

I said it during the first time I saw Faheem bowl vs SL in the CT, he bowled too short and wide. He doesn't seem to grasp the concept of line and length.

Raees I guess is coming back after an elbow injury but a couple more of these performances and he'll rightfully get dropped.

Junaid Khan isn’t that great either. Shows the quality of our new ball bowlers.
Very under-rated. Doesn't look special, but he was instrumental in our comeback in the CT. I'm sure no one realized his importance in the CT final too.

Faheem bowled a decent new ball spell today. A couple of loose deliveries but mainly bowled well and took the important wicket of Munro.

Really? Generally he may be a decent bowler but with the new ball he’s really average. He never swings the ball and he’ll get a bit of seam of the pitch when playing on a track with a bit of assistance. Other than that he’s gun barrel straight.

Junaid is a level above Fahim and Rumman.
Knows when to bowl what and how, might be limited in his skillset but certainly has a good mind.

Cricket is not always about looking pretty. We have struggled in NZ because Junaid is missing.

Junaid wouldn’t have made a difference when our batting is so atrocious. His bowling would not have restricted their totals much either, he might have chipped in with an extra wicket or two though.

Munro's wicket was just luck

Finally the opening spell option got sorted out with Faheem. He bowled according to plan back of the length. Was able to take Munro's wicket and restrict the new zealand batting early on.

In spite of his 3 wickets today Rumman is not a new ball bowler. He can probably bowl in the last 10 overs.

Don't be silly Faheem is not a front line bowler. Whats worrying is our new bowling attack. Why is 4th choice bowler opening the bowling?

Serious blunder by Inzi.

so are you saying Hasan can only bowl outswinger if he is opening bowling with new ball?

The white ball generally swings conventionally only during the first few overs.

How often have you seen a bowler swinging the ball (conventionally) in the middle of the innings?

Anyway, if you've watched Hasan opening the bowling for Zalmi, you'll have seen him swinging the ball.

Hassan has been doing well in middle overs , that is why captain reluctant , thats fair enough.
