New Undiscovered Boom Boom Bat

I just sent some emails to Armie bhai regarding bats and he told me there is a new Boom Boom bat. He sent me these pictures with this message.

'here are some of the pics. I would have gotten pics of another couple of bats but my battery died down. Anyhow, these bats are quite good as well. The first Apex is 2lbs 7. Price of Apex is 95 quids and Maxi 85 quids, both prices inclusive of delivery. Cheers'

What do you think then guys, does this look grade 1 and any good. Is it authentic and trust able?

As I posted it the other day I think this might be the Pakistani Boom Boom bats.

Few days ago Boom Boom people had send a PM are reading concern by few members on PakPassion and here is what they said;

Saj, I have been browsing the blog and find that there are a lot of misconceptions about the difference between our UK range of 175, 150 and 130 - compared to the 5, 4, and 3 star ranges in Pakistan.Actually, the main difference is that the 5,4 and 3 Star bats are designed specifically keeping Pakistan playing conditions in mind. What I mean is that in Pakistan, the wicket is harder and the ball is generally harder as well as you will already know. Also, another major consideration has been the fact that in Pakistan, the bat gets used more year-round and the 5,4,3 star bats have been made with this consideration in mind.Our recommendation is that these bats will not be as effective for use in the UK playing conditions.

I'm assuming this means they're harder pressed for the sake of durability.

Good looking bat, looks quite big for 2.7.

Yes bhai they are harder pressed as the pitches are of cement and ball are metal hard.

If that's the case, I think these would make good practice bats.

We all know how certain Indian balls can be classed as bat breakers and a nice hard pressed bat would be the best way to deal with them.

Yes, for indoors these sort of bats are ideal as the surface is concrete.

Not only Indian but Pakistani balls are like that as well. People who bring them over don't realize those balls are made for domestic market not international market.

Yup, they're grade A rubbish if you ask me. It's always worth spending a couple of extra dollars to ensure that something as important as a ball will be of good quality. Not to mention, they'll end up costing more when they break somebodies bat.

We need to go hunting across the GTA for cheap balls and burn them all at once. Like a giant cricket ball bonfire!

I fully agree with you. In my old club a guy took out his brand new Sher Amin and was using it for the very first time and he spent good time knocking and everything so the very first ball he played, edge snapped!

If I'm correct Khan, Hagees etc balls aren't great either

I ordered a dozen Readers Club balls once which were the lowest grade English balls I could find, and they played 100 times better than somebodies self proclaimed "top of the line SS balls".

Uhmm a 2 piece ball be it English or Asian I would say is still harmful for a bat, so I'd refrain from it.

I haven't seen Readers balls but SempreSami posted a picture of them and said the top of the line ones are made in England and are hand stitched and they looked quite impressive.

If I'm correct low end Readers balls are made in India.

I have one Dukes ball (one used in English test matches) and Ohh gosh it is very good!

Top of the line Pakistani cricket balls are pretty good quality. There are not very hard and they bounce well also. They are better in my experience than the lower end Kooks. The only advantage of the lower Kooks is that the seam is much better.

I think in domestic matches in India they use SG cricket balls. I would think they would be pretty good quality.

Yes, they use SG in India but the SG's I have seen here have been rubbish to be honest.

haroon_ahmed, give me few days and I will let you know the prices of Boom Boom bats and I will get you good quality stuff as well.

Haven't seen any but the price suggest they are low range and made for Pakistani pitches (read second post and the part which is quoted).

Boom Boom Apex is made from Grade 2 range, although very good grade 2 sticks. Some of the Boom Boom signature 2 star bat i've seen looks as good as Grade 1 sticks but they're Grade 2 also. Boom Boom Apex though is not part of boom boom official range, just a range made by Ihsan with Boom Boom name on it (ofcourse with Boom Boom permission). The Boom BOom Apex is a top bat for its range, I have one and its pinging good and its edge is big and meat on the back is pretty good.
