Sunday Showdown! Super Sunday in Guwahati sets the stage for a potentially decisive contest as India and New Zealand lock horns in the third T20I of this five match series, with the hosts in complete control leading 2-0 and the visitors staring at a must-win situation. India's Dominance - India have dominated the series so far, winning both games convincingly and sending a strong message ahead of the World Cup. After Abhishek Sharma's explosive 84 off 35 powered India to a 48-run win in the opener, the second T20I turned into a landmark night as India pulled off a stunning chase of 209, their joint-highest successful T20I chase. It was also India's 100th T20I at home, highlighted by Ishan Kishan's 76 off 32 and a return to form for skipper Suryakumar Yadav, who sealed the game with an unbeaten 82 along with fireworks from Shivam Dube. With Hardik Pandya and Rinku Singh still to come, it once again underlined the depth and flexibility in this Indian batting unit. However, Sanju Samson has been quiet in the two games and Shreyas Iyer might come in for him as he was named in the squad for the first three matches only, with Kishan doing the keeping duties. India's bowling has complemented the batting nicely. Harshit Rana made an immediate impact yet again after coming into the side, bowling a maiden-wicket over first up and removing Devon Conway, making it four games in a row with his wicket, including three times in the ODI series. Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav have controlled the middle overs, while Hardik and Arshdeep Singh have chipped in with key breakthroughs. Jasprit Bumrah was rested in the last game and Axar Patel missed out due to an injury. It will be interesting to see whether they come back in the team or get some more time off to manage their workload. Do or Die for New Zealand - New Zealand, on the other hand, have struggled to find consistency despite flashes of individual brilliance. Glenn Phillips' 78 in the first game and Mitchell Santner's fiery 47 in the second were positives, while Rachin Ravindra and Mark Chapman have looked fluent without converting starts into big scores.

Tim Seifert could be a major X-factor at the top after a strong run in the Big Bash League, and his ability to take on the Powerplay may be key. With the ball, Matt Henry remains their main weapon, while Jacob Duffy, currently ranked 4th in the world in T20Is, has been impressive with his variations. Captain Santner, along with Ish Sodhi, needs to control the middle overs to try and contain the explosive batting unit of the hosts. Zakary Foulkes had a tough outing in the last game, conceding 67 runs in 3 overs and it is highly likely Kyle Jamieson comes in for him. Jamieson will also be under pressure to deliver after replacing the injured Adam Milne in the World Cup squad, making this series a crucial opportunity for him. Probable Playing XI - India - Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan (WK), Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav (C), Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Rinku Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Axar Patel, Varun Chakaravarthy. New Zealand - Tim Seifert (WK), Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra, Glenn Phillips, Mark Chapman, Daryl Mitchell, Mitchell Santner (C), Kyle Jamieson, Matt Henry, Ish Sodhi, Jacob Duffy. What to expect? The Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati is known for being a batter-friendly venue, with flat surfaces and quick boundaries often leading to big scores. Interestingly, India have won only once in T20Is at this ground, with their two losses coming against Australia while batting first. With the pitch once again expected to favour stroke play, another high-scoring encounter could be on the cards as India look to wrap up the series and New Zealand fight to stay alive.

This is Samson last chance. Tilak will return for the fourth match and Samson will likely be dropped from the team. :kp

i hope Kiwis win this one and keep the series alive. I also want India to lose couple of matches so that they can make necessary adjustments before the world cup begins

Not this but i want india to testest more , like we were 6/2 in 2nd T20 yet chased the 209 target.

Fro remaining game I want india to bat first so we can handle the dew , how many runs we need if we bat first in World T20 .

:kp

India should wrap the series in this game, and then they can experiment further more.

losing now and coming back to win the series is a toughing process they have to through so that when similar losses happen in WC they can cope with it. India also should look to defend so that they can get more experience tackling dew

Hoping for a Kiwi win. :dav
You are hoping for a Kiwi win, while I am hoping we at least whitewash New Zealand in this T20 series and ease the pain of the Test series whitewash. We had a similar chance against South Africa to avenge the home Test humiliation by whitewashing them in the T20 and ODI series. We won both series, but a whitewash would have been far more satisfying. :rabada2 :inti

Kiwis will need to play too good to win the game, it will not be easy , they will need extraordinary performance.

Finn Allen has made a grand total of 1 fifty outside NZ. All his bullyings were on those small pocket grounds in NZ. He failed in all 3 matches in India last time.
He's an upgrade over Conway no matter what . Conway has been stealing a living in this format.

Doesn't matter. He has a T20I strike-rate of 163 and is a very good player in this format. What he did in 3 random T20Is few years ago has very little bearing on the now. And he is an upgrade over Conway any day of the week. So is Tim Robinson for that matter.

Team's are going hard against India due to fear of India chasing anything close to 200 . This is where they make mistakes and throw their wickets.

India is the greatest t20 team let's be brutally honest here i don't any team except australia challenging india in world cup even that looks difficult it's again to going to be india cup to loose even if we want pakistan to win sorry just have to admit india is too good man in t20

NZ is not such a terrible T20 side. I am surprised they are folding like this. They are one team that are very very familiar with Indian conditions besides Aussies/South Afircans and Buttler.

I think India's other format teams play traditionally which is what NZ loves. Their strategy works. But this Indian team adopts khamikaze approach. So NZ has no real time to think abotu strategies.

If India plays Abhishek , Tilak , ishan , Jaiswal in OD , they will see an attacking approach there as well.

Finn Allen to open instead of Conway and another hitter in that lineup ahead of a bowler.

This lineup will be a lot better.

Brutal hitting from Abhishek. Have to admit he is excellent both on off and leg. He and Ishan is a deadly combo, and I hope the think thank in Pakistan are already thinking of strategies to get him out. Truly unstoppable.

Bro how key will be saim ayub for pakistan in world cup that kid has something about him even you admired his talent way better than overrated babar and and really handy bowler.

These Indian batters are wonderful. They just hit out. Timing seems spectacular.

IPL hardened lineup. They keep coming one after the other.

Very crucial. Him and Sahibzada need to attack that PP ruthlessly. Saim is also a great fielder and a very good 6th bowler.

Agreed.

For all the hate, their batting talent is light years ahead of Pakistan.

I hope the new generation of Pakistani batters are learning from this fearless approach.

Speaking of which a good way to slow is to bring an accurate spinner to slow things down when pace is not working.

The problem with Ayub is he is one sided player. Leg side. Needs develop his game more.
