I can bowl all the ones from the back off the hand :afridi but not a leg break :mush

The 7th variation am not sure if it even was a delivery, I need to look into it, I thought it was more specific to something he saw in the Batter and then he’d set them up.

Salman Ali Agha speaking during a press conference ahead of the T20 series opener against New Zealand:

About the fans' expectations:

“They are naturally a bit disappointed because we haven't played the kind of cricket they expect from us, or even what we expect from ourselves. That said, our side has a mix of young and experienced players, and this doesn’t mean we are not a good team. We’re here to win, and our goal is to leave this series as victors.”

About the conditions and Playing 11:

“The wicket does look green, but I believe there will also be some help for spinners. This ground, being one of the few in New Zealand with proper boundaries, will likely see spinners playing a significant role. As for the playing XI, we haven’t finalized it yet, but we will decide before taking the field.”

About the role of Haris Rauf and Shaheen Shah Afridi:

“Their current T20 form is better than in ODIs. A bad patch can come upon any player. Both Haris Rauf and Shaheen Shah Afridi are outstanding bowlers. Their experience and skills will be pivotal for us in this series.”

About missing Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Fakhar Zaman, and Saim Ayub:

“Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan’s performances have been brilliant for Pakistan but we are trying to make new combination. Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub are players who can win matches on their own. Their progress has been good, and we hope they will return in the next series. The effort is to build a new combination and move forward with it.”

About building a team for the upcoming tournaments like the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup:

“Asia Cup and T20 World Cup are our primary goals, and this series, as well as the upcoming ones, are part of our preparations. While the larger objective is to build a team for these tournaments, we are treating these matches as an opportunity to refine ourselves for the upcoming tournaments.”

Putting an end to bobzi and riz with those words .

The way he spoke about Babar and Rizwan clearly shows he doesn’t rate them in this format.

His body language after the NZ defeat was also a give-away. I think the players in the team are also sick of what’s been happening and just want to get on with playing for Pakistan now.

Stat-padding can only be endured for a certain period of time before even your colleagues turn on you.

While Babar and Rizwan's time is over in T20s, and should not be bought back to the team.

However, Agha himself is not fit for this format, let alone captaining the side.

The only things which excites me about this series is return of Haris and inclusion of young blood like Hassan Nawaz.

Starting X1

M Harris
Hassan K
Salman Ali
Abdul Samad
Shaddy
Irfan K
Khushdil
Jahadad
Was Jr
Abbas Afridi / Muhammad Ali
Sufyaan

Khawaja Nafay should of been selected.

Shadab controls his speed. He doesnt turn the ball but he does varies it and had a few varities.

Shadabs issue is his line and length.
Shadab did play 2nd tier first class patrons trophy this yr he hardly bowled and when he did his figures were 0 for 100 after 15 overs that is why i am surprised how he has made a come back

I like nafay although was unlucky yest given out lb...national t20 and psl is huge for him especially if he keeps

lol Nafay is a hack who will not put bat to ball against International bowlers. Just like Usman Khan scores centuries in PSL but got nothing to show against high class bowlers.

PAK bowling first should try to restrict NZ to 165 max.

If they bat first , they should look to score 180 - a winning score at Hagley Oval.

Omair
M Haris
Usman
Shadab
Salman
Irfan Niazi
Kushdil
Abbas
Shaheen
Haris
Abrar

I think this is a good move forward. Shadab can bat at 4. And plenty of options for bowling. 7 bowling options and hard hitters till number 7. If you look at the line up, its only salman who can play the anchor role in case. Major update from the previous middle orders which has 3 to 4 anchors
I like this one

You don’t give fresh faces a proper go then it’s back to Babar & Rizwan; am sure that’s what India fans would love if they played for eternity :yk They are Misbah’s successors.

PCB are just destroying him. They should had bought him back after 2 years if he had performed

Usman+
OBY
Haris
Agha
Irfan
Shadab
Khusdil
Jehandad
Abbas
Sufyan
Ali
----------------

Since its a tour to test young players so better give chance to them , SSA & Rauf should be used if req after first three games but knowing the senior culture in team , they will be first on team sheet and then demanding authority over youngsters

Likely playing 11

Omair Yousuf
Mo Haris
Usman UAE
Agha de villiers
Khushdil
Irfan N
Shadab
Abbas A
Shaheen A
Haris
Abrar

Playing SSA & Rauf our these youngsters will be cruel , this is the series to build your squad, SSA and Rauf are going nowhere let them enjoy sightseeing in NZ

Meh he’s not a good T20 player I know, and to be honest he is being setup to fail here for Shadab to get captaincy later.

But the way Babar and Rizwan stank up the CT batting innings, while Agha literally looked like he was batting on a different pitch against New Zealand.

Those little things matters and plays on a player’s mind.

Babar was blatantly only playing for his runs and that impression is hard to get away.
