Dead-rubber, so I think both teams should make changes to their XI.

Pakistan need a win, but more importantly they need to make it a competitive match.

Babar & Fakhar out - Imam & Nawaz in.

Rest are fine.

We're not at the races. Just come home boys instead of further humiliating yourselves.

azhar, hafeez, malik out.
haris, yamin, nawaz in.
open with a pinch hitter to partner with fakhar and play captain at 4.

Ugh, not much leeway in our squad. I'd like to see some players brought in with the series won.

Phillips and CdG in, Latham/Nicols and Astle out.

No point making these threads. We all know there will be no change. The same team will be put in. the same batting order and the same result.

If they do make changes then those players will be blasted if they fail and then some will say see this was our replacement, makes no difference who we have.

Pakistan always do this once the series is over give maybe chance to bench warmers who are expected to score like 50 or 100 in their 1st game and the pressure on them is already too much that they fail and then sit out again for the next few series!

Most of them are in the squad, but yeah I'd like to see big changes in the squad.

It's time for the likes of Chapman and Phillips to be given a chance.

I think Sarfraz needs to open. If you want to captain Pakistan you can't hide from pacers your whole career, time to face the music. He can rotate the strike and tries to avoid accumulating dots, it's what we need. No more of this 3 overs in powerplay going to maidens nonsense.

He started his pakistan career off by opening where he did well. Could be a wise move. Captains should never be batting so low. No.4 is the highest. Below that is just cowardice.

PCB should be afraid of the day when Azhar and Hafeez injure themselves as they don't have replacements ready for these greatest odi players.

We need our saviour :mn back to have any chance.
It's not about him.

Have to kick out seniors at all costs. Having them score in dead rubber will hurt us in long run.

And I'd take Nawaz over Yamin because 5 pacers is quite redundant.

Seniors are not performing anyways. I would rather bring akmal brothers who guarantee a one off match winning knock.

The series is gone so might as well try the bench players

Do not plan on wasting my time watching this garbage team. Mickey, Sarfaraz and Inzi can go to hell.

Drop Azhar Ali and open with Hafeez so Haris Sohail can be slotted into the middle order.

Only condition I'm watching the match is if there is a complete overhaul and new guys are brought in, would be fun to see how much of a difference it can make.

Mike Hesson says it's not up to him or his players to judge if they haven't got enough credit yet this summer.

But he was quick to point out a few things to everyone else worth considering.

New Zealand will enter the fourth of five one-day international cricket matches against Pakistan in Hamilton on Tuesday seeking an 11th consecutive win across all formats.

Tim Southee earned plenty of praise for his bowling into the wind.

The Black Caps have proved far too good for first the West Indies and now the new visitors - so much so that there's been equal focus on how woeful the opposition has been this home summer as there has on how well NZ have played.

Hesson wouldn't be drawn on that, but felt the side's long-term record could speak for itself

"That's up for others to judge.

"In the last five years, every side has travelled here. And our record at home is pretty good," Hesson said.

"We know we play pretty good cricket here, we know we challenge teams away from home as well, but we're still trying to get better."

The coach did have high praise for his troops after they destroyed Pakistan by 183 runs in Dunedin on Saturday to clinch the ODI series win.

"Last game was pretty close to perfect on a tricky surface," said Hesson, who felt he'd never seen his regular opening bowling attack of Trent Boult and Tim Southee play better.

"I think the first 10 overs, that's the best I've ever seen.

"In terms of when you have to bowl into the wind - Tim's five overs into a howling gale, he never missed the strings, kept hitting the top of the bat ... he was exceptional and obviously Trent was relentless from the other end."

Rather than contentment, Hesson said there was a sense of "satisfaction with the way we're playing".

"We're improving and I think we're playing some smart cricket, particularly on a variety of surfaces, so that's very pleasing.

"We were very smart on surfaces that perhaps haven't allowed us to play how we've wanted to play. We often want to play with a bit of flair and be aggressive with everything we do with the bat and sometimes conditions don't allow that.

"I think perhaps in the past we might have just kept going and reflected on it at the end of the day. But especially in the game the other day, I thought Kane [Williamson] and Martin [Guptill] were exceptional in how they assessed the conditions.

"I thought Ross [Taylor] and Tom [Latham] certainly added a bit of punch to that order."

Despite the praise, Hesson is adamant the side won't lose concentration.

"Nothing changes for us.

"We're very clear how we operate pre-game - I think one of the keys is we're very consistent about how we operate, whether we've come off a win or a string of losses.

"We don't get too overawed, if we lose a few games, and if we're on a roll, we don't drop our guard."

He also didn't plan to make any drastic experiments with his side.

"We're relatively new in terms of the kind of roles we've given our players," Hesson said.

"Colin's [Munro] very new at the top of the order, Tom and Henry [Nicholls] are very new to that middle-order role.

"From a bowling point of view, Lockie's [Ferguson] new, we're playing two spinners - we're trying a few things this summer and it helps that we're developing some depth."

Looks so nice without malik, hafeez and azhar.. atleast the young talent will show some fight..

Dil uth gaya hai yar iss team se.Umeed hee nahi hai ab.i won’t wake up early anymore to watch these remaining matches.
But better to lose with newbies than to lose with duds.Would prefer this XI

Imam
Fakhar
Babar
Haris
Sarfraz
Yamin
Faheem
Shadab
Hasan
Raees

Sarfaraz needs to man-up & take some tough decisions now, this is how we should lineup in 4th ODI:

1. Fakhar
2. Imam (Azhar should be dropped now after all)
3. Babar
4. Haris
5. Sarfaraz (needs to show some guts, should never bat below #5)
6. Malik (if top-order manages to stay till 35 overs, he can create an impact at the end+can bowl 3,4 ovs)
7. Shadab
8. Faheem (I do not rate Yamin much, Faheem is better & there's no need to play 2 RMF bowling allrouders)
9. Hasan
10. Amir (for the love of GOD, please take some wickets with new ball)
11. Rumaan

With the ‘form’ he’s in,I don’t think he would do much better than Hafeez or Azhar if he opens.

Garbage Imam isn't a ODI player so playing him is useless.
Kick Azhar Out, bring Yameen and open with Sarfi or Faheem.

Kick Professor out and bring Harry.

But considering our thick tank, i think Nawaz will get a chance :))

em getting a feeling that one of the malik, hafeez and azhar will be dropped.. haris will play..

They should not change. So the so-called seniors won't make excuses that they weren't given enough chances. Lolz. Wish the failure of Hafeez, so we can get rid of him permanently in future. Which is much better for Pakistan Cricket. He must go.

Your team is right but I think Sarfraz should come at No.3 and Babar at No.4 or the vice versa.

I think we need to give another 2 remaining matches to Azhar. After all, he and Fakhar gave us good starts in the CT. Let's see their pair in the remaining 2 matches, before deciding anything for the future.

Either Sarfraz should open with Fakhar or he should bat No.3 and Babar at No.4

There's no need to change Babar's position, he was a bit unlucky in two ODI's & I think he should bat at his number (#3), Sarfaraz is running low on confidence & form so there's no point in moving him that much up the order. Haris could be a perfect #4, he played some goodish innings in WC'15 at #3 & 4. Lets hope out top 4 can bat for atleast 25 overs before Sarfi & Malik comes.

I have nothing against Azhar but he doesn't merit his place in playing 11 after three consecutive ugly innings, it would be unfair on Imam as he is the only backup opener with the squad.

Haris & Amir Yameen to bat at No.5 and No.6 respectively.

Continue with Azhar & Fakhar combination. After all, this pair was very successful in CT, don't change after the failure of just 3 matches.

By the way, matches were held in alien stadiums instead of Eden Park (Auckland) and Westpac (Wellington). Where are not open stadiums, they are much covered, so breeze doesn't effects much, like in Dunedin, Nelson, Hamilton, Napier & Basin Reserve.

NZ helds matches in these stadiums for B grade teams like SL WI BD Zimbabwe. Lolz

Maybe the people who barely get to see a quality side were treated to the recent World Champions?

Why do they even bother doing net practice. Not like they are gonna bat like that or even attempt to bat like that in the match. Enjoy the vacation and head home. No point in training

I don't care if we lose but this is the team we should've been playing. Guaranteed we would compete much much better.

Boult and/or Southee might be rested for this game. This will be a good opportunity for Pakistan to try and go after Matt Henry and others to put a good total on the board. I think Pakistan will be making a few changes as well but not sure if they have enough replacements to get rid of all the non performers.

I see Boult and/or Southee being rested for this, with Henry coming in with possibly CdG for Astle. Maybe Latham sits out as well.

For Pakistan, knowing our management, they will still be looking to 'play for pride' and won't drop many players. If Azhar manages to keep his place after 3 consecutive failures, I'm done. But I still have hope he will be dropped in favour of Imam/Haris. The other change I see happening, which should NOT happen, is Yamin coming in for Faheem. Yamin needs to play but not in Faheem or Shadab's place. Ideally I'd want the wicketless wonder Amir to sit this one out. We have all rounders in the team so let's test their mettle.

Cornered Tigers will bounce back tomorrow!

Get ready for a 350+ score batting first by Pak. And NZ will then be bowled out under 200. I am calling it now.

1. Fakhar
2. Azhar or Imam
3. Babar (no matter how many times he underperform, he is young and in learning process. We MUST support him to make him a greater player.
4. Haris Sohail
5. Sarfraz (hope his change of batting position help him to perform)
6. Malik or Hafeez ( there are no batsmen left. These two have been the biggest failures with the experience they have. How many years do they need to adjust to foreign soil?)
7. Amir Yamin (give him the new ball)
8. Shadab Khan
9. Fahim Ashraf or Rumman
10. Hasan Ali
11. M Amir

Same pakistan X1 to be picked and 4-0 kiwis coming up.

probably haris in.. we might see hafeez opening wd fakhar..

Imagine what would happen if we got rolled over for under a 100 again..

Nothing will happen. Hafeez and azhar might be dropped and kamran and umar akmal or shehzad might make come backs. Thats about the changes you can expect.

Now that the series is lost, we can see some players perform well and retain their positions for the next series.

Same pakistan X1 to be picked and 4-0 kiwis coming up.

no inzi calls for a change and MA already hinted about change in lineup and shuffling batting order...

Im expecting atleast one change where Haris will come in but not sure for who will he replace and where he will bat... to me Azhar ali highly likely that Haris will replace and hafeez or babar might open...

Hafeez opening is a recipe for an early disaster. he cant face the new ball if its swinging in UAE itself, In NZL with the breeze in Seddon Park lol:akhtar, i bet he will not last 10 balls if he opens the innings..

i'll take hafeez over azhar anyday to open the innings even over imam.. i think it is the best choice given the players we have in the squad..

I think you're underrating our team here.

He better swing the ball next game...

To be fair, ball has not swung by anybody, Did Boult swing or we gifted him wickets on balls that were on natural angle??

Pakistanis batsmen have been done by pace, specially of Locki, he had trouble the mind of our batsmen lot more than Boult...They are too scared of shot balls, frozen on the crease. Pakistan must bring the guys who are not scared of shot pitch, I would even open with Fahim, rather than these ball less seniors, that is the only way to win in AUS/NZ/SA, there is little to no swing now a days for LOIs, see how Roy Whacked Strac and Cumins the other day...Even in Domestic Cricket people are scared of Wahab, that's what his numbers in LOIs are much better than others... There is no dancing around the core issue, same Locki will be whacked around by AUS/ENG in a month from now, we have made him second coming of Marshall and Holding together

I personally expect just Azhar to maybe be dropped. I can't see the management dropping Hafeez or Malik. Hafeez will probably open or be retained at No.4 and perform. Malik will play and get a quick fire 40 to 50 odd and retain his position to after the 2019 World Cup and confirm his participation in the 2020 T20 World Cup. Maybe we might see either Rumman, Amir or Faheem get dropped for Amir Yamin but that's a big maybe.

Hafeez will perform? He already fulfilled he quota for the series.

Malik with a quick fire 50? You must be dreaming.

This isn't UAE and the opposition isn't WI.

I expect both the seniors to continue doing what they have been doing: failing.
