Half cooled unfinished Saim Out, Abdullah Shafiq IN for next series, simple as is no questions asked.

Similarly, Nawaz out, Mehran Mumtaz in
Need a reliable 3rd pacer, any top suggestions?
 
Captain Salman OUT and Hasan Nawaz in. I would probably also include Rizwan just in Case as there r no better alternate options

Then it's between hasan nawaz and haris who gets to play and who is benched

Shafique is one of the most boring batsmen to play for Pakistan .
 
Saim will be dropped for the next game. Haris will bat at 3 and Hassan Nawaz will slot at 6.

Problem with Rizwan he can’t bat anywhere expect opening and your openers are sorted now . So Rizwan isn’t option . You have to look at someone who can bat middle with good SR and their is only Azam khan who fits that but he himself needs to get fit first lol

Haseebullah but he is again a low SR player . Then you have look for someone completely raw like Ghazi ghori or other U19 till Azam khan gets in groove

I think you can afford to select a raw player in T20.

Australia took a chance with David Warner and he never looked back.

Can be tried in upcoming home series and see how it goes . Harris should have done better he has been with A team for years now played PSL a lot and still bats like tailender - I’m still banking on Azam Khan though I feel he just needs to get his fitness right he can solve this problem of genuine Middle order explosive WK batter
 
Saim is the best batting talent in Pakistan. You can't abandon him just because he is going through a bad patch. Infact, you need to back him even more now, and give him confidence.

History will prove me right years from now.

Yeah. They should try the new keeper against some weak sides.

Umar akmal was a talent too where is he now ? You can’t just say talent talent without even contributing anything . How many players have got this much backing . I like Saim but this is too much of golden boy treatment needs to be dropped and he can come back after he sorts himself out .
Amir had talent he showed it in 09 WC and then getting out Sachin in ICC tournament . Those things count . Not just beating the drum of generational talent and other crap

Every player is different. It's ludicrous to compare one to the other. I stand by what I said...I know class when I see it. And like I said, history will prove me right.
 
No matter what you do, dont drop Saim.

He is still the best talent in Pakistani circuit

Agha & M Haris must go though.

Rizwan would happily bat in the middle order. Team comes first for :rizwan

a nothing batsman to replace Saim who was the best batsman on Aus/SA tour ... and just scored a 76 against WI ... yes he's struggling to score since the tri series but that doesn't mean you drop him

Benching Hasan Nawaz has been another brainless decision ... He should be batting in the top 4 with my preference being at #3 with Fakhar at 4 ... We have to back the right archetypes for longer sample size instead of constant chopping & changing

Stick with Saim and Hasan till the WC next year and then re-asses based on what happens there
 
Saim ayub should be persisted with as he's comfortably the best batting talent in the country. Abdullah should be shown the door in all formats now. More importantly Pakistan need to get rid of specialist captain Salman agha. He's as bad as sarfraz when it comes to performance.
 
You can't drop Saim on the basis of Asia cup on these rubbish spin pitches....he is one of only players in Pakistan who can bash full strength attacks in world...
 
Dunno what to do with him. I don’t think it’s good to drop him, he’s our best batting talent. And we even rely on him with the ball now.

But it’s also disastrous having in that poor form in the top 3. You’ve either got to hit quick and ease the run rate a bit like Farhan did today. Or you make a good amount of runs and set a platform. Saim is doing neither, and an early wicket at position 3 with our openers already not excelling just piles pressure of a batting collapse.

I’d probably just keep him as opener with Farhan. Even after Asia cup.

In hindsight we should have not brought him back to t20s allowed him to develop confidence for a while performing in Odis.

I do think when Farhan starts becoming consistent it will ease up some of the pressure on Saim. And maybe you’ll see Saim performing. There are signs Farhan is close to becoming consistent so we might see that soon.
 
Is Abdullah going to bowl too? Dude is literally bowling in the PP consistently and taking wickets. Hence, the value of multi dimensional players.
 
Saim has problems with spin, is currently an unfinished but promising player, he needs to get back to first class and bat in those long first class games.

Abdullah is a complete player and has recently shown maturity in T20s too, much better & complete player.

Mehran turns the ball, a better spinner and strong confident headed (this trait is very imp).

Salman unfortunately good for ODIs & Tests however has to solve his lazy lethargic nature of his batting to get to anywhere at international level.

I will get Hasan Nawaz, Mehran, Abdullah and Rizwan back, I will however keep Mohd Nawaz & use him lower down the order.

BUT BUT guys we need a top fast bowler, we cannot continue with Faheem as our 2nd pacer, he at best could be our 3rd pacer, WHO IS THE 2nd BEST PACER???
 
Hahah... replace 1 out of form guy with another guy who was never in form... Keep doing useless experiments...

I will play saim over Abdullah for now... No need to change
 
Remember, u still need players with proper technique in this format - most Indian top order have played plenty of first class...players like Sahebzada not long ago were also Dravidesque however with right exposure, mindset and technique he is now equally at ease in T20s. You identify proper batsmen and then give them the right exposure and mindset shift to succeed at this level. Abdullah I believe has that in him, now is he willing to work that much harder and smarter is completely upto him.
 
Rizwan for Haris is a no brainer. Saim Ayub, Mohd Haris are walking wickets in current Pakistan batting lineup.
 
As much as i like Abdullah I don't think he is the best solution for T20s. I'd persist with Saim. The issue that needs to be addressed more urgently is the non-existent middle order. Ideally, Salman, Talat, and Khushdil need to go. Haris definitely needs to go. We should also explore more spin options in Faisal, Mehran, and maybe Usman (although i have my reservations about his action) and finally Abbas Afridi needs to come back.

why Special treatment? He has been given chances in 46 Games. Thats a lot . People dnt get that many chances. Treatment should be fair for every cricketer thats aspiring to play for Pakistan. If talent alone is criteria , No discipline , No consistency , No improvement then Pray to Allah , Save our cricket

He has played 46 Games
4 Fifties . 300 Runs came in 4 Innings out of 839

550 Runs in remaining 42 Innings at average of 13. This is tail ender stuff

lol Dube does nt open. Neither Team india requires him to give them a start at top. Dnt be intellectually dishonest to make these hilarious comparisons. We never needed part timer in Saim ayub. So if he is failing at top and giving us 4 overs , Then drop him at number 8 then.

Stop defending useless strategies

how does this makes sense?

He has played 46 Games. A fairly large Sample size that covers almost all conditions
