And so it's that time of the year for NHL hockey fans the playoffs will start on Wednesday and a lot to be excited about if people are down maybe we can do a prediction thread regardless lost to look forward to I have Pittsburgh winning the cup again although I'm hoping for Toronto or Winnipeg to take it

Devils are pretty underrated. It's been bad year for us Detroit-ers with sports but I'm hoping Red Wings qualify next season. Toronto is looking good too.
 
Leafs do look good this year but lack good defence but their series with Boston will be a cracker for sure :) crazy how Pittsburgh killed philly flyers 7-0 today
 
Not been following hockey for awhile now but I know for a fact that a Canadian team will NOT win :)) .

The game was actually even up until the first half of the second period.

Kadri's penalty wasn't even a penalty lol. The first one that is.

The 5 minute major was obviously the end of it.

Need to come back much stronger.

Boston manhandled the Leafs. :murali

Have to come out harder in game 2 or they're going to get beat down again. Especially if Kadri gets suspended.

Lol yeah Kadri is pretty much gone for atleast a game. I'd say 2, seeing what happened to Doughty. Plus Kadri has a history too. :))

Don't blame him too much, even though it was pretty stupid; my guy retaliated for the non-call on Wingels, which really should've been called. But eh, refs and Toronto have never been a thing. :))

Gotta take the next one for sure and then ride that home advantage.

Need to have Martin in the line-up. Plekanec and Komarov are useless LOL.

You guys will get smacked in NBA too. Unlucky to get the tough side of the East, but doesn't matter anyway. Choking against the Cavs is inevitable.
 
im a big kadri fan but i think....him missing a game or two might just do a leafs a favor, the series im really liking is vegas vs kings

I would get rid of Plekanec...i think he has not done much since the leafs acquired him

Definitely looks like he'll get a game but Wingels deserved it. :))

Yeah just have to split the away games and the Leafs are good to go. Plekanec seems like he's on a mission to sabotage the Leafs ever since he came over from MTL.

Can't argue with this. Demar Defrozen is a mental midget in high-leverage playoff games, especially against the Cavs.

Growing up watching Carter in playoff games really makes you notice the difference.
 
Penguins will win again this season. Crosby is in great form and looks unstoppable.

As far as Maple leafs goes, lol they are getting thrashed by Boston.

Still, there probably is a really big buzz around the city with the NBA and NHL teams in the playoffs. Remember the same last year when the Yankees went deep.

Absolutely. Toronto loves its teams.

Even when Toronto FC or the Argos (CFL) went on their playoff runs, the city was all over it. Raptors and Leafs are on another level when it comes to popularity.

The Cavs series (if it happens) will be crazy.

Fans are expecting too much from the Raptors tbh.
 
Awesome 6th game on Monday,hopefully leafs don't waste the home game.
 
Leafs will win game 6 but their defence will have to play better need to get rid of Gardnier and zaistev also congrats to penguins on elimnating the flyers :) round two will look awesome if penguins can play capitals
 
Nashville killing avs 5-0 will advance and play jets that will be a great series too have jets winning in 6
 
What a Game today,man Andersen is a Legend,hopefully Leafs perform like this on Wednesday!
 
Leafs played well but second period was really bad on the leafs part could not get out of their own zone at all leafs will need to improve on that big time. RomannPolak has been garbage when it comes to that. Glad nylander scored his first goal and plakanec had a good game and of course Freddie Anderson was the hero just like in the regular season he came up big for leafs. Credit to tukka who made some big saved on Auston Matthews. Leafs should win game 7 but unlike today I think team who will score first that game will win. Good luck to the leafs would like to seem them advance indeed
 
Game 7 will be litttt!!! Gonna head to Maple Leaf Square for that one iA.

Surprised these many PPers watch Hockey. The only Hockey games I've ever watched are Canada VS USA gold medal match 2010 and 2014.

After NFL its the only interesting North American team Sport, lot of action and agility,surprising you didn't get into it in spite of living in Canada.
 
I live in Nashville so obviously a Preds fan. Last year they made a surprising run to the Finals. Hoping for the same or even better this year. They creamed Avalanche 5-0 in the last game of the playoff. Waiting for the next playoff series to start Friday with the Jets.

Meh, Basketball and soccer are better imo. Oh and I despise Football.
 
All pumped for the match , if leafs have to win, Kadri shouldn't be giving away powerplay.

Why, what happened at Popeyes. The recent murders was at a Waffle house.

It is a great fun city with a very friendly and artistic vibe.

Naw nothing just the few of the Popeyes in Nashville I know are maintained/run by a Pakistani,And agree about the city ,its awesome, been there twice already love the weekend, too laid back compared to Chicago.

Leafs lost in the end what a heartbreak :( really wanted them to win when the Bruins tied it in the very first minute of the third period I knew it was done but cheer up leaf fans you have a good team just need to shake the defence up . Get rid of Polak and Gardnier
 
Whats the point of Kadir just to knock ppl down? Andersen wasn't good in 3rd and 1st period today, can't handle pressure at all.
 
Anderson was the reason leafs made it to game 7 but all in all a good series just need to trade some defencemen give it a couple of years and this team will be a cup contender for sure

Yes,and was great in 2nd Period, but Leafs have a drought of 50 effin seasons!! Yes that's right they won last in 67, wonder if that's the biggest drought ever.
 
I am aware of that lol that the leafs have not won since 1967 but what can you do the thing that sucks about this lose is it reminds me a lot of the game 7 they lost against Bruins in 2013 that one was worse but the idea was the same....they let the game slip away. If it makes you feel better Boston will get wrecked by Tampa bay next round

I dont know if you guys watched the capitals vs penguins game. The capitals had the game in the back and blew it in the third period....seems like they will not get past the second round again lol
 
Wow what a turn around by the capitals and such a nice goal by ovechkin, can they keep it up or will history repeat itself
 
So Vegas are in the finals wow what a story we have their and the winner of caps lighting will go on to play them
