This "exploitation" extends beyond cricket. The goal is to malign Pakistan. They are jealous of our success our wealth our prospects our destiny. India feeds on the hate in Afghanistan for us for their goals.

Am not saying your wrong or them, but in this moment I think they came to this decision purely on emotion because it's not very logical; firstly PCB have extensively helped AFG cricket out and secondly, even if you do have a new friend on the block it doesn't make any sense to cut your ties with those who have helped you and just keeping your options open because it's not like AFG are in a position of strength where they've come of age like a BD for example.

Someone has been hanging around the BCCI for too long. Poor comments by whoever this clown is and I can definitely see this come back to bite them. Afghanis in general are some of the kindest and hospitable people around so this does not in any way reflect how the common man in Afghanistan thinks.

But brother, we need to be as good as we possibly can be. Sorry, I think we should always aspire to this "good boy" image you seem to mock (which who even has this perception of us?). Never submit to compromising goodness in the midst adversity, it will always be of benefit later on in the future.
Also, why is everyone targeting the refugees? They weren't involved in this specific instance. To just malign them randomly is just indecent. They are people who have resided within Pakistan for decades. I'm just as upset as you are at the swiftness of the ACB, but lets not resort to "eye for an eye" mentality; especially by using refugees. Its beneath us and our deen.

I'd much rather burn bridges with Afghanistan forever as they don't bring us much happiness but rather the opposite. It would be more fruitful to build ties with India, SL and BD and even though there were slight tensions with BCCI and BCB, we can slowly work on that hopefully get something out of it, the players get on very well with Virat Kohli and co., so we should look to see what we can do from there.

The sooner Pakistan washes its hands off Afghanistan, the better. Both politically and in terms of sports. Nothing good has come from this deranged relationship in which despite decades of hosting them, and kickstarting their cricket, they use the worst language against Pakistan & hold the deepest animosity. This embarrassment has to stop. Let India and others help them out.

Unprofessional from ACB. PCB went out of their way to help them in their most difficult time not only as a cricket team but as a nation. I don't blame the Pakistani people holding India responsible as we do have made deep relations with Afghanistan recently. I wish someday Sports and Politics will have their own separate paths

There is no need for the PCB to go out of their way and help ACB. At the same time PCB shouldn't resort to petty fights and passive aggressive behavior. Just have a neutral stance. If some Afghan players would want to play in PSL. I'd let them.
I find it very inappropriate that whenever anything related to Afghanistan is discussed a lot of posts insulting the whole Afghan nation can be seen. A lot of very harsh and exaggerated comments can be seen on the first page of this thread alone.
I am sure the majority of the people who post such things had their bad experience but such a vast generalization is sickening to me and only breeds more hatred.
I also think that the majority of those posters are living in the west and might have had bad experience from the young generations of Afghans living in the west. I would not count them as a representative of the Afghan people. Their arrogance and ignorance is obvious and I am sure a lot of young afghans in the west, who were born and grew up there suffer from an identity crisis.
Nobody is asking you to call or see the afghans as your brothers. At least I won't suggest that. But I do think a more sober view of the reality is required. How many of our fellow countrymen are quick to blame our neighbor whenever something bad happens in our country? In fact it's hard to find one who doesn't rush into blind blame games.
The thing that I find most important is that when you do a good deed you shouldn't go around and boast about it. And if the other party doesn't appreciate your help then you stop giving it. You move on. Simple! You don't start crying over it and throw a tantrum. You don't start counting all the occasions when you helped them. This isn't what one would call gesture of hospitality and good will. When I see Pakistani obsessively cry over how we helped the afghans and how they are ungrateful, I cringe. In urdu this behavior is called احسان جتلانا and at least I don't want to be associated with it.
I do agree that we have a big issue regarding Afghanistan which needs to be solved. And obviously it can't be solved by ignoring the issue or sugarcoating it with religious brotherhood. But the answer to hatred isn't hatred, the answer to ignorance isn't ignorance, the answer to disrespect isn't disrespect and the answer to racism isn't racism.
In a conflict atleast one party has to grow up and swallow the pride otherwise the conflict will carry on for eternity.
My ethnic background is 100% Punjabi and I too have observed the racism on the internet by the Afghans. I don't have any ethnic or cultural reason to have a soft corner for the Afghan nation. Still I refuse to fall into the trap of blind ignorance and hatred. I want to live in a peaceful world and in my view the frist step is to give up on false pride and prejudice of past generations. I don't believe in feel good slogans rather I believe in being practical and taking simple steps. I don't believe in ego fights rather I believe in forgiveness.

Pakistan has many faults and is far from blameless for its predicaments.However, I am proud that Pakistan has remained independent despite the huge obstacles placed by its enemies. Pakistan has been helping the Afghans and Kashmiries despite having its own issues.
Yet - even accounting for all this and the corruption and the poverty and the insane politicians at its helm, Pakistan has somehow remained viable.
This is evident also in its cricket. Who else could have survived no cricket at home for so many years? No money. No expensive academies. Ineffective domestic structure. Key players retiring.
Yet they go and win a major icc trophy.
We all like to criticise Pakistan and moan at its problems.
I would just like to salute Pakistan.

This is actual support from Pakistan.
In comparison Bangladesh got little support from Pakistan or other boards. The support Bangladesh got was more from a political point of view and teams arranging series with us.
Afghanistani cricketers grew up playing cricket in Pakistan camps.

Bangladesh would not have become a test nation without Pakistans help.
Pakistan supported bangladesh's application. Also- a huge factor was Pakistan allowing bd to beat them in a meaningless world cup game in 1999.
Please don't tell me you think Pakistan tried to win that game??
In addition, Pakistan gave tours to bangladesh when no one else wanted to play you. We visited you when no one else wanted to.
Even now - Pakistan certainly don't need bangladesh. But bangladesh need Pakistan.

A lot of teams supported Bangladesh including India and lanka. Because Bangladesh was an ideal country to develop the game in. We have the spectators. We have potential sponsors. Facilities.
You say Bangladesh needs Pakistan but how did you come to such a conclusion? Pakistan can't host us in Pakistan. Pakistan are financially struggling because of not being able to play cricket at home. PCB also has corruption issues.
The only benefit Pakistan can do is to tour us but right now we play enough already at home.
Btw India Australia England Lanka (especially) toured us several times in the past along with Pakistan. WI and SA didn't tour much. I am talking about before 07 WC.

One thing for sure, Afghan bros are gutsy making such bold statements. They seem aggressive kind. Even during the early matches I first saw them in 2014 their players look fired up. Imagine when Afghanistan becomes a very good ODI side against Pakistan they'll be gearing up even more. Matter of time I see a nee rivalry happening...

We are barely minnows. And already we are financially better off than boards like WICB, NZC, SLC
So now if you feel entitled to get immediate benefits for whatever favors you did for us then ideal option would be to invite us to the UAE and that will guarantee good spobsors and huge local interest due to our expat community. Believe me. It will be given you much more revenue than you think.
Guess what Bangladesh vs afghanistan was profitable for Bangladesh.
On the other hand Lanka vs Zimbabwe were all day matches just to cut costs!
What PCB wanted was Bangladesh to become a decent team, wait let me rephrase that, that's what most boards wanted. Now a stable Bangladesh means one team who are profitable to play against. Pakistan players regularly take part in our domestics competition and our boys lately have been picked in PSL which made PSL popular among Bangladesh audience.
Pakistan helped Bangladesh, a lot of other teams helped us get in our feet. But no one else felt that Bangladesh owes the world anything. Bangladesh is already repaying the faith placed in them. Infact no one would help us if we didn't have the potential. Do you see Pakistan helping Myanmar/Maldives/Bhutan? No because these countriws are unlikely market for cricket.

At the end of the day best way to measure success is trophies not financial resources - it's not like PCB are bankrupt and are about to be relegated from test cricket - far from it. We arguably produce more natural talent that anyone else.
Pakistan have just won CT, they have a world cup and a WT20 to complete the ICC set of trophies. What has Bangladesh won? You haven't even reached an ICC final. PSL >>> BPL - evident from the emerging young Pakistani players in Hasan Ali, Rumman Raees, Shadab and Fakhar who all played key roles in winning Pak the CT.

We set up our first class structure in 2000. 15 years after that we qualified for quarter finals of a world tournament and a semi final 2 year after. Pakistan England Australia wi India have rich history
We have some quality players coming up in the years to come. I am confident they will mature. Btw Bangladesh in recent U-19 events have been doing quite well. You may see for yourself

I'm sorry like Geoff Boycott has made it clear in recent times you're still minnows! 2017 CT semi was a fluke and we all know had NZ/Aus played India instead it would have been more competitive.
Reality is Bangladesh have been made to look good on sub standard cracked pitches. They have nothing to write home about outside Bangladesh...

They don't care. We run around for everyone acting like best friend and get slapped on the face in return.
They won't even send an A team to tour Pakistan. They will not do anything to get cricket back home. They call our country dangerous because BD is apparently just like USA safe heaven on earth.
We are being played, always played and taken advantage of. We toured BD 3 times in a row and they kept all the money.
They called us worse than them and minnows and now we are champions.
I can't wait for Pakistan to become fully safe so we can start hosting western nations and never tour BD again or invite them.

Whilst it is not the players fault - a stern message must be sent to the ACB that such behavior cannot be tolerated.

gracious was not the right word , but Pakistan needs to be smart, India won't play us, we have wrongly or rightly boycotted Bangladesh, there is no point making things worse with Afghanistan. Give them time and I'm sure they will normalise, is retalting is what they want.

PCB needs to take strict action here
1. No Afghans should play in PSL
2. None of ours should play in their league.
3. Misbah (who is the ambassador/former captain) should not participate in MCC match against the Afghans. (Along with Yasir)
This should send the right message to them.

Who wants to play with the minnows and spoil their own cricketing standards. This new drama of poiting finger on Pakistan is to look great in the eyes of India to get more money and cricket matches. Afghanistan has been torn from the time Russia occupied them. They love to fight under subjugation and their corrupt rulers find ways of making fool out of India by pretending their loyalties. Let me be very clear India can spend all it can to gain the trust of their corrupt leaders but the Afghani people are first Muslim then Afghani unlike Indian population where every Muslim Hindu Sikh and other religious community are first Indian and then anything else.

Good Post. Short, precise and to the point. I will be surprised if we don't win a major ICC trophy in next 10/12 years. Our current players r vastly superior to their previous generation and in future our domestic cricket will produce many more quality players who will easily surpass the cricketers of this generation.

Absolutely not. Our cricketers have been known to be quite the dimwits, especially when it comes to understanding the political dynamics which sadly have become a part of this sport.

They have fulfilled their responsibilities as the captains of PAK national team. After retirement they can do whatever they wish in their personal life. Ur criticism would've made sense if they were contracted players of PCB.
Both of these players have gone to AFG to earn their livelihood. If they hadn't gone there, their emotional fans wouldn't have given any compensation to them.
United States has given quite a few statements against Pakistan in last couple of years and relation between these two countries isn't at its finest at the moment. But hundreds of thousands of Pakistanis still go there to live, study, work, treatment etc etc etc. Consider these captains as normal Pakistani citizens who have decided to play in AFG to earn money.

That was a very immaturish statement by afghan board president. Definitely out of emotion and pretty sure he regrets it.
I believe Afghanistan were well supported by Pakistan and should respect them. I think it's okay to let Pakistan players in their league and this decision should also be welcomed by Pakistan fans.

As fans who had to live with the idocy of Ijaz Butt, id hope most Pak fans can seperate team/fans from politicians/admin
The Afghan people have gone through so much that I love seeing any success they get on the cricket field. Plus what has their team ever done against us ?
If they bring politics into it, you'd be foolish not to think the same. That we're going to play with a team that called us terrorist supporters is disgraceful.
Did Ijaz Butt ever call a country a place where terrorists are housed? No, because he wasn't a hateful traitor like the Afghan Cricket Board is.
We should never play bilaterals with them or let their players play in Pakistan

Please cite an example of arrogance from an Afghan player. Only thing I can remember is M. Shahzad saying something about Kohli before the Test against India.
Bangladesh has a lot of issues with it's players but a lot of them are also pretty nice e.g Tamim and Mashrafe.Cannot class all players as the same.

It's their loss, don't really see why Pakistan should be bothered. They are a minor team that struggles to attract any attention from the bigger teams. Let them dance to BCCI's tune if they think it benefits them, long term they are not going to be any nearer to a peaceful solution at home.

I assume you're referring to my comment, I assure you there was no ill-intention. Clarity was my aim. It doesn't help to gloss over their concern when there is a clear "WE DO NOT TALK ABOUT IT" situation.
All countries have their problems, but hiding "problems" may not be the correct approach when open dialog with the world, even in this forum, is an option.

The ACB says these things due to external pressures. The players themselves, if they are like the majority of Afghans, don't have any problems with Pakistan or Pakistanis.
