To be fair, he has achieved his aims, now we are discussing Mughals and Anatolia instead of zionist supporters attending a football game. Something I am not against by the way provided the police and local council advise it to be safe to go ahead.

I would have assumed the Maccabi fans would have more sense than to go looking for trouble outside of the stadium, but the police seem to have reservations.

Why the hell is an Israeli team playing in a European competition? If you are going to allow teams from terrorist Israel to participate in the champions league, then you might as also allow Saudi clubs. At least, that way we will see Ronaldo back in the champions league.

The European Jews do have some Levantine DNA. The Palestinian Arabs are no different to the Arabs of the Levantine, such as Syria, Lebanon and Jordan. But the Levantine Arabs have been in the region for thousands of years. There was a Romas emperor in 300 AD (I think) who was called Phillip the Arab and was from Syria. These Arabs pre-date the Arab expansion into the Levant. Both Israelites and the Levantine Arabs are descendent of the original Canaanites, which DNA results show. European Jews were those who the Romans expelled and their DNA results show their male line coming from Middle Eastern Jews. However, for a majority, their female line is from Italy, I.e. no Jewish/Middle Eastern descent from the female line and fully European.

The point that I keep coming back to however is that it doesn’t matter what your DNA is, 2,000 years of separation does not entitle land ownership in Palestine. The Palestinians have evidence of the following:

- DNA decent from the original Canaanites, a Semitic indigenous people to the land (Hazrat Ibrahim AS was a Semite).
- Continuous inhabitation on the land for thousands of years.
- Land ownership of the land for thousands of years.

I don’t agree with this

By that logic, Britain could also take part in the cricket Asia Cup, after all, there are plenty of Pakistanis and Indians living here in the UK.

It’s pure favouritism: Russia is banned from tournaments because of its war with Ukraine, yet Israel is allowed to play not only in world tournaments but also in European ones even though it’s not part of Europe.

Villa Park is in the heart of Aston. I would guess 80%+ of locals are Asians/Blacks. Maccabi Zionists are known for their racist chants and violence against ordinary civilians. Most hooliganism is against other fans but this illegitimate breed specialise in attacking civilians from taxi drivers to shop keepers to residents. The police cannot control every fan, violence would have taken place. Any deaths of any Jewish fans, the politicians would go into mourning for a month.
 
Just saw a clip on Instagram of Ian Duncan Smith
saying in the House of Commons that Maccabi fans played in Istanbul with no problems at all.
How can a former leader of the Tory party, a previous Minister not do his fact checking?
Suffice it to say the honourable MP from Liverpool calmly replied to him by stating facts which was that the game was shifted to Hungary and that the Hungary played the game in a closed stadium, no Maccabi fans were allowed to enter.

It is depressing how such misinformed propaganda is being peddled, and supported by the mainstream media.

I feel it was a mistake to ban the Maccabi supporters even if it was done with good intent. Let them come and let the police deal with it. They should be able to walk around Birmingham provided they don't antagonise the locals.

I was never in to conspiracies but my eyes have been opened and it wouldn't surprise me if the Government has used the Police as a scape goat to spread the message about rising anti semitism

It's a no win situation for Birmingham locals. If the police ban the israeli supporters, then it's because "Birmingham has become an Islamic state". If the Maccabi supporters provoke locals and end up getting filled in, you can guarantee it would be the locals who would get the brunt of the harsh coverage.

Also Naples fans were deported from Netherlands last night to prevent riots in Eindhoven

Israeli fans were banned. Why do you think still 7000 police officers were needed to patrol the game? Why schools were closed early due to threats? So clearly, the issue and threats were not from Israeli fans.

The police were out in such numbers because there was going to be a peaceful protest against the israeli team and the police knew that your man Tommy's hooligans would be there as well. In the event I think there was only 11 arrests, not sure which side from.

I disagree with the protest by the way, but in this country peaceful protests aren't against the law.

Banning fans of a specific country to attend a football match is playbook of fascism. Just imagine, Pak cricket fans barred from attending cricket match in England for the attacks of SL team in 2009 or match fixing in 2010. Will you like it?

Majority of Brits, including the villa fans were not happy with what transpired. I saw multiple videos and not a single fan were supportive of dragging this politics in a football match. I also saw a video where one brave Christian lady was waving an Israeli flag and mob of middle aged men absolutely tormented her. This is Britain? Today its Israeli fans, tomorrow it will be Jews, then it will be Hindus, then Christians. Where do we stop? State cant be power paralysed like this in a democracy. So we all have a responsibility to stand up to this open fascism. If that makes me slave mindset, try harder...I have heard worse.

Let me ask you....Israeli fans were actually banned from the match. Why still 700 police officers were needed to cover that game? Why Schools had to be closed early? You seem to have no idea of the make up of Birmingham population. If you did then you wouldn't be asking why no Palestinian or Arabs are attending the protests. I already said I don't approve of these protests, generally I have never been a fan of protests in my time on here. But it's a legal right in the UK and the police have to mobilise in accordance. It seems this one actually went off without too much incident hence why you went quiet on the thread on the day of the game and immediately following.

West Midlands police to be questioned over Israeli football fan ban

The leaders of West Midlands Police and Birmingham City Council will be grilled by MPs later over a decision not to allow Israeli football fans to attend a match in the city last year.

The decision to ban Maccabi Tel Aviv fans from a match against Aston Villa in November was criticised by the prime minister and other politicians, some of whom suggested it amounted to antisemitism.

BBC News has obtained a letter from the Dutch police inspectorate in December, which appears to contradict claims made by West Midlands Police about Maccabi fans' previous behaviour, which were used to justify the ban.

West Midlands Police maintains it banned fans because of concerns over the safety of local people.

The decision to allow the match to go ahead without Maccabi fans was announced in October, three weeks before the fixture.

Aston Villa said the decision had been made by Birmingham's Safety Advisory Group, who deemed the match a "high risk" because of unrest during previous Maccabi matches.

Despite criticism from government and opposition politicians, the match went ahead without any away fans present.

Craig Guildford, the chief constable at West Midlands Police, and John Cotton, the leader of Birmingham City Council, will both be questioned by Parliament's Home Affairs Select Committee on Tuesday.

Guildford has been called back by the committee, after previously giving evidence last month.

The row over why away fans were banned has been ongoing since October, when the Safety Advisory Group, which includes the council, the club and police, made the decision because of what they said were safety concerns.

West Midlands Police have repeatedly mentioned the unrest surrounding a Maccabi match in Amsterdam in November 2024, as part of the justification for the ban.

During meetings of the safety group in October, they claimed that 500-600 Maccabi fans had targeted Muslim communities the night before the Amsterdam fixture, saying there had been "serious assaults including throwing random members of the public" into a river.

They also claimed that 5,000 officers were needed to deal with the unrest in Amsterdam, after previously saying that the figure was 1,200.

In November, a representative for the police force in Amsterdam said they did not recognise the claims.

Last month, West Midlands Police hit back when a senior officer suggested that Dutch police had only questioned the claims because of political pressure.

But a body that oversees the Dutch police has now backed up the Amsterdam officers' account of what happened.

In a letter seen by BBC News, the Dutch Inspector General, Liesbeth Huijzer, said "we do not see any new facts or circumstances that would warrant revising these findings".

Conservative MP Nick Timothy, who asked the Dutch Inspector General to intervene, said they had "confirmed what we have long suspected".

He added: "The facts on the ground in Amsterdam do not remotely resemble what West Midlands Police has claimed."

Leaked minutes from the safety group, first reported by the Sunday Times and seen by BBC News, also reveal that the police said it would favour a ban despite an "absence of intelligence".

A summary of a closed doors meeting on 7 October said that the police's preference had been determined based on what one officer described as "conversations with piers [sic] and my professional judgment".

Those present, including representatives from the council, police, fire service and Aston Villa, were reminded that it was a "confidential discussion" and "must not be shared".

The Sunday Times reported that two days later, an official at Birmingham City Council asked the police to provide more evidence for how the ban would help ensure the safety of fans because of concerns that it "may be wrongly considered as anti-Jewish sentiment".

At a further meeting of the safety group on 16 October, West Midlands Police claimed there was now "significant intelligence indicating potential for disorder involving Maccabi Tel Aviv fans based on recent fixtures".

West Midlands Police has been approached for comment.
