With the 2021 edition of the ICC World T20 set to reach its business end, veteran Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has named his all-time playing XI in the shortest format of the game. Regarded as one of the finest spinners across all formats of the sport, Indian spin wizard Harbhajan picked legendary cricketer, MS Dhoni, as the captain of his all-time T20I playing XI. Former Team India skipper Dhoni had guided the Asian giants to their first T20I title in the inaugural edition of the World Cup.

As many as three Indian cricketers featured in Harbhajan's star-studded playing XI. While the spin icon picked three players from the Indian side, four players of the West Indies made it to his all-time playing XI for the shortest format. Interestingly, Indian skipper Kohli and his Pakistani counterpart Babar Azam failed to receive a nod from Harbhajan in his all-time T20I playing XI.

In a video on YouTube, Harbhajan assembled eleven star players from the past and present in his all-time playing XI. The Indian spinner and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) star named Rohit Sharma and Chris Gayle as the two openers of his fantasy playing XI. England's Jos Buttler was slotted to the No.3 batting position by Harbhajan.

"He is a very reliable batter and someone who can control the game once he gets set,” explained Harbhajan who made his T20I debut for India against South Africa at The Wanderers Stadium in 2006. Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson bagged the No.4 spot in Harbhajan's all-time playing XI.

“Being an all-rounder, he has won many matches through his batting ability and has won games with the ball as well,” Harbhajan added. While Dhoni was given the No.6 batting spot, Harbhajan opted to give South African legend AB de Villiers the No.5 position in his all-star playing XI. West Indian all-rounders Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard were picked by Harbhajan for the next two positions in the playing XI.

"The batting order can be altered and Pollard could be moved up and down the order depending on the needs of the side. Any T20 team is incomplete without Pollard,” Harbhajan said. The all-time playing XI of the Indian spinner also featured Mumbai Indians' (MI) world-class bowling duo of Lasith Malinga and Jasprit Bumrah.

My all time world XI :

1. Chris Gayle
2.Babar Azam
3.Kevin Pietersen
4.Av De Villiers (wk)
5.Yuvraj Singh
6.Andrew Flintoff
7.Shahid Afridi (c)
8.Rashid Khan
9.Umar Gul
10.Lasith Malinga
11.Saeed Ajmal

if you are going all time then no one in their right mind can look beyond Umar Gul. Phenomenon record. I agree with Azam and Kohli not being there. Can build a case for Afridi and Ajmal too.

Looka more like a IPL eleven than a international eleven that

More of an IPL XI than a T20I XI. Both Dhoni and Rohit have terrible T20I records while Kohli is the GOAT T20I player.

Tells you these former players have no idea about what they talk about. Bhajji has named an IPL all time XI.

This team would get smashed badly by all the World T20 winners

what has chris gayle accomplished in the last 5 years?

no afridi? LOL

Shane watson?

Sunil Narine? HAHAHAHAH....

Dhoni? No. I would keep with ABD, and add a few others.

Terrific team from Harbhajan, proving that he truly was a giant of the game with over 400 wickets in test cricket as well as player of the series in India's greatest test series victory ever.

My 11 changes everytime i make 11.

1. Chris Gayle
2. Adam Gilchrist
3. Shane Watson
4. AB Devilliers
5. MS Dhoni WK C
6. Pollard
7. Shahid Afridi
8. Rashid Khan
9. Umar Gul
10. Malinga
11. Bumra

When did Harbajans all time playing 11 even mattered.

Watson? Dhoni? Pollard? Narine? Malinga? Bumrah?

The XI reads like a Sardarji joke.

Not every decent player should be taken seriously post retirement with their analysis and “all time”.

Babars great but he still doesn’t have the body of work to be in an all time XI. Heck this is his first T20I WC. But Kohli walks into any all time T20 XI with his eyes closed.

You can actually make an argument for not breaking into an All time ODI XI since he’s gone missing in some big knockout WC games. But no such thing in T20 WCs

My all time X1:

Shahid Afridi (AR)
Sanath Jayasurya
Jos Butler
Jack Kallis
MSD (c/wk)
Andrew Flintoff
Liam Livingstone
Hassaranga
Rashid Khan
Mitchell Starc
Umar Gul

Pollard is always poor for WI. Kohli is a gun batsman and should always be included. Early days for Babar but by next year he will also become a fearless batsman with even better hitting power. Umar Gul and Afridi cannot be left out any World T20 team. Gayle, Bumrah, Butler, Malinga, Rohit and ABD are good selections. Amir and Saeed Ajmal could be in reserve.

He is already 7th on the list of highest T20I run scorer and 3rd for most 50+ scores in T20I.

Lol, you can't be serious about Kallis in a T20 side. Dude had a pathetic IPL batting SR of around 109 or something.

Furthermore his name is Jacques Kallis, not Jack.

Why are people picking Dhoni in all time x11. He was a crap t20 batsman.

I will also not pick Babar or Virat in the all time XI but that team is a joke.

I don't know you as a poster but I am sure you are Indian and far from being unbiased.

How does that prove any of that? 🤔

My flag is there to tell you my nationality.
And if you think i'm biased, thats your problem sir :-)

Flags don't appear on phone!
But only an Indian can come with such a rubbish team with Sharma as an opener.
If the matches you are going to play are against Namibia, Scotland Sri Lanka, West indies, Then Sharma is your perfect opener.

Sir, Sharma has scored second most T20I runs, more hundreds than anyone else

Sharma has the fastest T20I hundred. He is the automatic choice for all time T20I XI ahead of Guptill and Gayle..
As Kohli is already in the team, I can't pick another accumulator like Babar or Malan.
