"NOCs should only be given by PCB to players who have been playing First-class cricket": Wasim Akram

He made a special reference to Hasan Ali and his perpetual habit of bowling short and length bowling. He also mentioned that too many players in the team have the attitude that if they don't get to play for Pakistan they will be allowed to play for T-20 leagues around the world. He feels that these young bowlers and players need to be made to play and toil in first class cricket and that the PCB should not be issuing any NOC's to players who don't play in Pakistan's first class cricket. He also mentioned that the PCB needs to induct Pakistani domestic cricketers into the PSL teams.

This is mild. The likes of Hasan Ali, Shadab Khan and Shaheen Afridi should be bullied into submission right now. How on earth can an international cricketer regress this bad is alarming to say the least. They forget basic skills which got them the initial recognition.

Torture these young lads to the point where they either say goodbye to cricket or end up becoming better cricketers.

Danda is the way to go. No half measures. Playing for your country is a privilege, not a right.

Do you seriously have to ask about what is wrong with a bowling coach taking players to a burger place on the eve of one of the biggest matches of their careers? Is a burger, milkshake and chips suitable food for a professional sportsman (guided by a coach). I may forgive out illiterate players but Azhar gets paid to coach these boys. You ahve already seem their misfields and lack of fitness yet you still ask whats wrong with a burger

Feel bad for him, when he was busy fixing as a captain potentially costing us 2 cups he probably thought there’s such an abundance of talent around me if I don’t win my country the cup some other elite playing bloke will in a few years or a decade. But now he’s probably like damn maybe I should’ve given my country some happiness instead of going for the $$$$.

Wasim is wrong actually- he is asking PCB to ban players from Quaid E Azam style of cricket, ..... because basically those are T20 style cricket in the wrap of FC games.

Jitney moonh utni baatein..

Now all the experts are coming out of the wood work.. nobody has the better sense to address the elephant in the room. The domestic structure and grass roots level cricket. Both these areas are in disarray.

Restructure domestic cricket in a productive manner and setup a better infrastructure of coaching at grade level. Arrange more tours of our grade level teams.

You take care of these two things and everything else takes care of itself. The players you produce will be good enough to handle franchise cricket as well as international duty.

Yes do it with a CS who ditched PCB for ICL.
All TTFs, after retirement, become legends and analysts.

The last I knew, Wasim Akram was part of the "cricket committee" under the chairmanship of Mohsin Khan who is also offering expert opinions sitting on a sports channel . .

If the cricket committee is of no use, guys . . . Resign please!!

If you guys are empowered, you ain't doing your job!

I don't believe in DICTATORSHIPS!
i don't believe anyone has the right to stop anyone earning legal money to feed their families!

However, think wasim is onto something here!
Pcb should not stop anyone wanting to play t20 leagues, but should make every cricketer aware that it will not select any player for the int team who plays in these leagues, except for psl league.
Furthermore, pvnlb player contracts should not be g

Similar to WI board stance!
Will have a jegative effect in the short term, but will have a positive effect in the long run.

As fas as psl, each team should be made to field 3 home non int players. And no one over 30 should be eligible to

If players are denied NOCs, they'll shift to UK & obtain citizenship. That'll also enable them to play in IPL - like Azhar Mehmood (2015).

Mohsin Khan was letting everyone know that he is 'ready' to offer 'his services'... ;-) ;-) ;-)

Shut up Wasim.

Talk some sense, how about we stop you from commentating in all the matches or become coach of T20 teams?

Players like Shadab, Hasnaian, Shaheen havent even played handful first class matches and they go onto play leagues during the QAE trophy. I agree with what Wasim is saying with regards to the NOC atleast for such young players who need to learn by playing 4 day cricket.

Shaheen has taken 6 wickets in his last 2 games and a poster here has said that he's got a problem with his shoulder so i give him the benefit of doubt. While the other 2 were awful specially Hasan who needs to be kicked out ASAP.

2011 WC lost to India same reaction
2015 WC lost to India same reaction
2019 WC lost to India same reaction

2023 WC lost to India same reaction

and it will go on... Only in this CWC there are more juniors than seniors who will have the potential and time in terms of age to play the next CWC

Not expecting anything from Pak or PCB

To beat India and to come to same level as India is now will take 10 years provided India stops where it is now...

Now that the ICC World Cup 2019 has ended, Pakistan’s legendary fast bowler and former captain has said that the national side should concentrate on improving their fielding standards if they want to stand out in the cricketing world.

“Apart from batting and bowling skills, what we have seen in this tournament [ICC World Cup] was the sides that possess strong fielding emerged in the semifinals, including India although they lost in the semis,” said Akram, while speaking to local media.

“And how would one improve their fielding? One would first need to be physically fit especially in the 50-overs format. Pakistan cricket team would learn to be physically fit and need to maintain a high fielding standard like all other sides,” he said.

“If India and Bangladesh could improve on their fielding, [then] we can as well,” he added.

Fielding has never been Pakistan’s stronger attributes and that was evident during the tournament as well, after the Men in Green continued to drop catches regularly. Pakistan, however, ended their run at the World Cup on a positive note winning five of their nine league’s matches, including four back to back consecutive victories coming against the likes of South Africa, Afghanistan, New Zealand and Bangladesh.

Mohammad Hasnain seems to have permission to play CPL but not in camp and will miss some part of domestic season.

Go figure.
