Notable players who missed out on selection during PSL 4 draft

Non stop criticizing Umar Akmal in public during the previous PSL rather than taking ownership for the team's poor showing himself.

Tbh it's not the first time Umar Akmal has been criticized by his captain or the management. He has a habit of doing stuff that irks people. BMac obviously likes to maintain high standards of discipline. NZ was a prime example. Yes, he was in poor form but Umar Akmal did even worse. Bmac is a proven leader of men, while Umar is notorious for being a trouble maker. I don't have any sympathy for Umar here.

BMac was a failure with the LQ who have told him to take a hike. The other PSL franchises are not even interested in this so called leader of men and have not even bothered to ask for his services as a player. Umar Akmal the trouble maker has been selected by Quetta Gladiators. UA is the victor here whereas Mccullam has faced Karma for his non-stop ******** against UA in the media in the previous year's PSL.

1. Asif Afridi

6'3 All rounder who hits them a mile. Slow Left Arm Orthodox bowler who can fire shooters aswell.

In recently concluded domestic one day Cup Asif hit 18 sixes, scored 246 runs at an Ave of 46 and SR of 164.

Asif Leads FATA team and had a very decent FC and List A season with both bat and ball. He is big show, a power hitter six hitting machine.

2. Kamran Ghulam

Again a Slow Left Arm Orthodox bowler who is an allrounder. Brilliant Athlete and fielder.

A pocket rocket with Iron wrists and forearm, he muscles them with the bat. He is a genuine skilled allrounder and a complete Cricketer.

Last distinction is that He is the only left arm spinner in pakistan who can bowl a carrom ball.

Kamran has played for Pak U-19 and has had a good FC and List A season recently. He was unjustly dropped by Misbah & Co at IU after playing 1 or 2 matches only.

3. Zeeshan Malik

I had the honour to highlight this batting talent here at Pakpassion when Zeshan didn't even play for Pak U-19. He is a brave, dynamic and classical opener who dominates bowlers and doesn't allow them to settle. Provided he stays grounded, works hard and remains disciplined he would soon play for Pakistan. A future limited overs prospect not playing PSL is shocking and terrible but nothing new as it happens like that in Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

4. Waqas Ahmed

6'3 Fast Medium bowler. A story very similar to Abass in terms of not getting oppurtunity at Domestic Level for 3-4 years with Sialkot getting relegated.

Unlike Abass though Waqas bowls in between 132 - 147 kph while being mostly around 137 (85mph) plus.

Waqas has been amongst the best Right Arm pacer in last 2 domestic season's along with Mohammad Asif & Ali Shafiq. Inzamam ul Haq selected him for Pakistan A where he played 1 FC match only and took 3 wickets on a dead placid track. In the same match Taj Wali managed 2 and Mir Hamza srh managed 1 wicket only. Since than Waqas got dropped.

In a T20 match playing for Brighto Paints last year Waqas Ahmed bowled Umar Amin of SSGC on a Waqar esque toe crushing yorker bowled around 145 kph. ahmedwaqas92. I posted that video on 20-06-2017 at PP and Hamza_ , Chacha Cricket and others endorsed him. (See Waqas Ahmed Sialkot thread)

I was hoping Shoaib Malik would pick him for the sixth team but instead 40+ Shakeel Ansar WK deserved more somehow :-)

5. Haseeb ur Rehman

An Allrounder who missed 4-5 years of competitive cricket due to ZTBL relegation.

He bowls decent offbreak at Swann's speed (quick both through the air and of the pitch) and spins it. Recently took a tenfer for ZTBL.

Haseeb & Agha are long term replacement of Mohammad Hafeez. I am pleased to know that my boy Agha will be playing for LQ in PSL but Haseeb should have been a must aswell.

These are the glaring omissions for TalentSpotterPk

Zeeshan Malik and Nauman Anwar should have been selected.

Nasir Nawaz is my favorite pick this year.

How could Rashid Khan be overlooked in the draft?

The guy has great demand in leagues all over the world and yet gets overlooked in PSL?

Last year he was picked by QG but couldn't play due to national commitments.

I'm sure he would have been selected if he wasn't busy with his national team.

M. Nabi and Mujeeb, the other 2 in demand Afghan players weren't selected either

To add to my Post number 71

6. Saif Badar

7. Hasan Mohsin

Both have shown immense potential this season as number 6 finishers in limited overs version.

Both will play for Pakistan soon and should have been playing high pressure PSL games for their further practical development.

Saif is an improved version of Shoaib Malik with the bat with decent offside play against fast medium pacers unlike Shoaib Malik. Malik should have must picked Saif & Waqas Ahmed.

Zeshan is a potential best limited overs finisher we have ever produced provided we groom him and give him the opportunities he richly deserves. If M Waseem was with 6th team this time around he would have surely picked Zeshan Malik. The guy lead PTV unbelievably well in Saud's absense and batted marvellously well yet misses out on PSL selection.

Chris Lynn not being selected for PSL and other PSL draft blunders

What in the world is going on in this nepotistic league? Moin’s overweight son gets selected but a TOP t20 batsman like Lynn gets goofed? The man is demolishing the classy Indian bowling attack as we speak in a t20 game, smashing sixes for fun.

There’s been other wack selections and miss selections too. I know I’ll get called for being negative blah blah, but unlike others I don’t want to settle for less for the cricketing future of my country, I want us to be the best and have a top league. If you are satisfied with the league being home for retirees and rejects then Sully has nothing more to say.

Okay even if he doesn’t want to play in Lahore, so what? You’re gonna sacrifice the overall competition of the tournament just for the final?

Hope he scores a ton today to put the mushtande PSL owners in their place.

36 off 17 now for the big man. Hope Karachi Kings are watching this. What's the use of all that ARY gold dough if you are not investing in crowd pullers like this.

Chris Lynn had availability issues which is why no franchise picked him. No point in picking international players who will play a handful of games unless they are Smith or de Villiers.

Franchises will always prioritize availability over big names and it's unfair to think they should prioritize moderately big names like Lynn over players who will be fully available and be willing to come to Pakistan.

Most big names have availability issues.

No point selecting someone for 3 matches.

Is he available? End of Feb/early March, India and Australia have a 5 ODIs and 2 T20s series (perhaps in India).

playing in Australia vs playing in the UAE is very different. Somehow I see him as struggling on these pitches.

Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, England, India and West Indies all have series during PSL due to WC being so close.

Reason for him not being selected is that Australia are touring India for a T20 and ODI series from February 24 to March 13.

Sadaf Hussain again ignored at the draft

I am really disappointed for this guy to be missed out again in the PSL. He has worked so hard in the domestic level which is the criteria for national selection team. The only reason why I see in his being omissions is that he doesn’t have strong political connection as opposed to the other cricket players.

I remember reading Javaid Afridi comments when a journalist brought his attention for Sadaf. He told that he was going to look into this and potentially give him a chance. I have not seen any efforts from him trying to help him.

INJUSTICE IS AT ITS PEAK. Please if someone can brought this attention to someone who can help him, would greatly appreciate it.

The biggest problem is that there are a lot of back-door, on the side signings done before the draft and agreed between the franchises. That means that many players know who they will be signed by even before the draft.

Other players have connections and know people in high places and they ensure that they are picked.

Do you really think not getting picked up in one tournament 3 years after his international retirement carry any weight for a celebrated player like Bmac or his legacy?

And how is umar a victor here? He hasn't really set the world on fire since last PSL, his antics has only gotten him in more trouble. Let's see if he can do something of note in the upcoming PSL. I highly doubt Bazz even knows he is getting punished by karma or he is up against Umar Akmal.

Another reason for some curious selections is that some of the guys responsible for picking the squads have no clue about the domestic players and that is why the National T20 Cup should be played shortly before the PSL draft.

I sent videos of Under 19 players and other youngsters to some of the guys responsible for picking their respective squad and they had no clue of who the players were.

I suggested to one franchise that they should hire Abdullah719 as an advisor for the draft. They were very keen, but then the fear of one of their buddies missing out on a free gig and being replaced by someone who can actually do a good job made them change their mind.

Sadly this is the way it is, jobs for the boys, keep it in-house and look after your mates.

Brendon McCullum
Rashid Khan
Shakib Al Hasan
Chris Lynn
Ben Cutting
Zeeshan Malik
Hassan Mohsin
Mohammad Nabi

These teams are insane not to pick players such as McCullum Lynn etc. Honestly starting to lose interest in PSL as most overseas players won't even travel to Pakistan

Their loss. At the end of the day it’s their money that will be wasted on less deserving ppl for the post.

Is it just me or Rashid Khan didn’t get selected because He has build up a negative report about his attitude with the franchise owners? The guy really does come across as someone who is full of himself

I am curious that Rashid Khan was not selected because he has build up a negative impression with the franchise owners. The guy was picked up for a record fee in IPL and not picked up at at in PSL really is suspicious

I know this business mate. There is no such thing as “our loss” when everyone in the management is filling their pockets. They could care less if they win or lose. The purpose of PSL for them is not to win more money through cricket but through marketing

I know. What makes me sadder than anything is that no one in the mainstream media is discussing these issues. Most mainstream media houses are entangled with certain franchises so they wouldn’t let such stories develop on their platforms.

And they won't get their free return tickets to UAE for the PSL, free hotels, free food there etc.

I'm surprised now one picked Ali Khan, he was too good in Canadian T20 and CPL. Good bowler he is, genuine wicket taker!!

I so wish this actually happened- signing Abdullah719 would have been a brilliant move.

But the problem is that some of the people who are getting free holidays, free food, free hotel stays for doing nothing would feel threatened by someone who actually knows what they are doing.

Sad but true.

Abdullah719 is a legend when it comes to knowledge of Pakistan cricket. Would have been great to have him on-board.

i dont need any hotels and trips franchise just need to add me on watsapp as i know every player of domestic from lahore to Larkana and also whats happening in world domestic

Max. of Talented players you know today first thread on them was made by me you see that

Out of that entire list I'm mad that they didn't pick Lynn. Like seriously?!

You pick side show bobs like Sikander Raza and some random domestic dudes from other countries but you don't pick the premier t20 guy all leagues play including IPL.

These owners are clueless and so are their goons.

I don't expect these snobs to know any of our domestic players by name or by stats, but I expect them to at least know about the hottest picks in t20 leagues in the world.

Believe most international players who have been left out are due to being busy with national sides
Believe it was Faisal Mirza (ex PSL player manager and now works with the Sixth Team) Who said Lynn was overlooked as he is part of Australia’s T20 and ODI setup now
