Will admit I'm still not over that loss. It's perfectly justified Pak fans will celebrate this victory for a long time.

Biggest fluke ever. India will smash is 9 out of 10 times. We are finished, humiliated etc.

Yeah man, didn't see some of you guys for weeks. :)))

When Sarfraz posed with Kohli with the trophy - it was such a humiliating sight. We were doomed.

In the end Sarfraz laughed his way to the bank, shutting up a major hater :afridi

The greatest individual ODI victory in Pakistan’s history.

stil feel like it was yesterday.
whole of stratford road
lady pool road was packed with celebrations.
we were all dancing. it was an eid before eid.

and i still watch the highlights and they are as fresh as ever

Love this thread :')

The pictures, the GIFs, the memories - brings tears of joy to my eyes :afridi

It's really difficult to get over some defeats. This defeat definitely has hurt me, in fact I'm still not over it. But nothing compares to the pain I have gone through all these years due to our defeat in the Chennai Test back in 1999. It's been 19 years and yet it hurts me just as much as it did back then.

I was outside for a jog during the intermission and came back to switch my computer on just as India's innings was about to begin.

I missed Rohit Sharma's dismissal but saw Azhar Ali drop Virat Kohli. My heart sank thinking Azhar just dropped the CT.

The next ball..."IN THE AIR GONE !"

Cue a celebration so loud the next postcode must've heard it.

Yaar I would pay anything to go back...

What a match it was!
Amir showing his skills with Fakhar scoring a beautiful century!

Wish there were some more India vs Pakistan matches.

"Pakistan cricket at it's best. One minute down, next minute up!"

Golden words by Nasser Hussain.

The highlights for this game are playing on our homepage!

You have no idea how the Indian public would have reacted if he congratulated the Pak team after India's defeat. He would have been a fool to do so, the public would have labelled him a traitor. Pakistan is a very, very sensitive issue here in India. No Indian celebrity with a brain would dare to wish Pakistan after India losing to them.

BTW, Rishi Kapoor is such a tool. He was making poor jokes on Pakistan before the match and even made a poor tweet after the match mentioning terrorism in Pakistan.

I'm sorry, maybe I should have mentioned cricketer. I don't know about other cricketers, but Sachin is a v.v. revered figure in India, more so than you could ever imagine. He would have invited severe criticism from fans if he wished Pakistan.

It's sad to see there is so much hate that some people would severely criticize someone just because they congratulated Pakistan on winning a cricket match.

Pakistan has a lot of issues but mainstream celebrities including cricketers openly congratulate and even compliment India with little or no backlash. Not gonna lie, the hate seems way more intense on the Indian side if a congratulatory tweet would result in outrage.

No team was beating Pakistan that day Everything just seemed to click and fall in place for pakistan

It was a fluke, but great to see nonetheless. I forgave Mohali 2011 after this match

There was a time when I would watch the highlights pretty much every day :uakmal

Hate is the same with both sides having lot of immature trolls lurking on twitter.Remember the recent twitter rage against that Pakistani Anchor who congratulated KL Rahul in IPL.We Desis are highly sensitive and emotional in general and always find a reason to hate each other.

It was a fluke, but great to see nonetheless. I forgave Mohali 2011 after this match
No it was not. I am an Indian and have no qualms in admitting that Pakistan was better than us on that day in all the three departments.

It was a great day, not just because Pak won but in the way they won.

And the vast majority of Pak fans didn’t expect them to win.

I still watch that final dozens of times from my skybox.

To be honest, SRT played his goat innings, but the team failed him.

An epic game. Cricket can't get better than that game for me. There is a documentary about that game somewhere, still gives me goosebumps.

Here's the documentary in case you were wondering

:afridi1 Difference was that we defeated them so heavily to win the tournament. There would be no match after that one in the tournament that made it 100 times sweeter. It was not a semi or quarter rather the final of a major tournament. We absolutely humiliated the likes of Rishi Kapoor and Sehwag in particular who was about to cry after the match! A very harsh lesson was taught that they will remember before saying anything before next years WC match.

India was doomed the moment Pakistan beat England

Exactly it's funny so few people realize this. It's the same way SL was doomed the moment we beat SA in 2009. An inform Pakistan with the wind in their sails is arguably one of the hardest opposition to face.

One of the best days of my life. Will never forget the sheer Joy and bliss I got out of this match. Nothing else mattered in life on the 18th of June. Nothing

Best day of my life! :fz :amir3

Weren't you humiliated that we only won by 180 runs and the fact it was embarrassing seeing sarfraz next to kholi Charisma, communication etc which is more important then knowing how to play cricket.

You're mistaking me for someone else, mate!

I remember it was Ramzan and leading up to this game I used to make Khususi dua for the success of The Pakistan Team. The result was just incredible! :D

Fantastic win for Pakistan this, congrats on the Anniversary.

Hopefully we won’t be remembering this victory with “hasrat” in years to come! Hopefully a few more similar ones in the near future will keep the fan base rejuvenated.. 👍

Thanks for the tag man!

What an amazing day that was!

Will remember this CT triumph for many decades - truly a remarkable achievement :)

Kohli's gift to India ,the guy will probably give us such gifts in future too with his selection and captaincy.

One of the best days of my life.I will never forget anything about that game.Be it the Azhar-Fakhar partnership,Bumrah’s no ball,Hafeez’s innings,Amirs spell,Pandya’s hitting and then the run out.

It was one of the most dominating performances in our history and will be remembered for years to come.

A very very special day for Pakistan cricket - beating our arch rivals with the biggest margin in cricketing history in a ICC tournament final. Nothing gets better than that. We totally deserved to win the champions trophy after beating better the likes of Africa, Sri Lanka and England and then India. What a year it was for Pakistan cricket. Hopefully, such victories come again.

Best cricketing day in my life (mainly because it was against India). I rate our CT win above 2009 World T20 as was too young in 92.

Have a strong feeling Pakistan will win a World Cup under Sarfraz's captaincy and the young guns of now will become stars.

Excellent attitude from the Indians. Just loved it. Truely educated people.I have severe doubt over our Bangldeshi and Pakistani celebrities, don't think they are such open-hearted like the Indians.

If you want you can remove 'On this day - 18 June 2017' part from the thread title because some fans here have made sure that nobody will forget this date by discussing it here everyday. :inti

His first One-Day International hundred :fz

Best day since 2009.

Stuff of dreams which we will never forget but hopefully 2019 will trump it.

The only thing more impressive in the history of Pakistan Cricket than the CT win is the dead-accurate order of smilies you just inserted according to the batting order.

Malik and Imad batted above Hafeez and Sarfraz respectively.

Quite a sad day this for people who get joy out of seeing Pakistan cricket fail, for the rest of us it was one of the best days of our lives.

Malik and Imad batted above Hafeez and Sarfraz respectively.

They were promoted up the order.

Imad was supposed to bat above Shadab though (IIRC) but don't really rate him.

So I guess that's my ideal batting order, from that team composition. :ssa

BTW, Rishi Kapoor is such a tool. He was making poor jokes on Pakistan before the match and even made a poor tweet after the match mentioning terrorism in Pakistan.

Ah yes, this guy.

What a memorable day that was and what made it more memorable was the way we outclassed the opposition in every department and won the trophy in style. 😁

Great day. One of the best. Took me back to the late eighties and nineties when this sort of stuff happened quite regularly in tournaments!!

the greatest moment of my life.

Gone up in the air... Sarfraz takes the catch! It's all over, Pakistan win!

Congrats Pakistan for beating India for the first time in KO games of ICC tournament after Ages.
