so as soon as a player misses a game there is a conspiracy of biriyani-like proportions ?

Then what else can define dropping your best batsman just before the worldcup?

Aint that the truth.

Maybe they want to try out as many players as possible in readiness for the tournament. Did that thought cross your mind?

Yea but cannt it be done by rotating other players instead of your most successful batsman? Tell me if Inzi in amazing form and the worldcup is around in two weeks time in which your team gonna play 3 matches so will you drop him for the sake of trying all the players or will you keep him in the side so that he doesn't get out of touch? Being a Pakistani I know you will chose the first one.

Calm down son. This is an U19 tourney. Give all the players a chance I say. It means that they're all match ready when the tourney comes round.

And as far as the Inzi analogy goes he's one of Pakistan's greatest ever batsman. If we had 3 warm up game's I'd definately not play him in all 3. He wouldn't exactly have lot to prove now would he.

The problem is he has just played 4 or 5 U19 matches and all the other players has played more than 10 so in my opinion he should play each and every game so as to get full match practice just before the worldcup.

Bump

Wow what an innings by a youngster....

Certainly a very good talent

He is a very decent left handed opening batsman. Hope he continues to play well in coming tournaments.

Hadn't heard much about Rameez of late, but he certainly came good today didn't he?

very stylish player, but mentally weak.

has quite a long way to go, but the raw ability is certainly there.

Rameez Aziz (SBP) averages 31 from 6 matches and 11 innings with a century and a fify.

compare that to other young players that are perfroming, he is has minimum 15 players above him.

Rameez is having a great season so far, he is the second leading runs scorer in one day division one competition (Khalid Latif is the first), Rameez has scored 302 runs in 5 matches with an ave of 77 and sr of 78(3 fifties and one century)

Is this the boy with a very high back lift & wristy technic?

2 hundreds in 56 test innings on the flat tracks of Pakistan?

Come on, the guy averages 34.....

Impressive stuff from the little Lara today. Inshallah he has a bright future ahead of him.

some crispy drives from Rameez, too bad he had Khurram Manzoor at the other end.

Looks really well organized this guy

would luv to have left hander somewhere in the pakistani middle order maybe him? lots of competition though

I really like style of play from this "youngsta beauty". Definitely one to watch for in the future.

The couple of innings I have watched him play, he plays within himself and does not chase wide deliveries... and still can score aggressively...

I hope that this lad is given chance sooner than later !!

Little Lara currently in action for Karachi Zebras.

What style....even when he misses the ball :)

why isnt he selected in pakistan A , he was 3rd top run getter in quaid e azam trophy this year

I just posted in National Cup thread who this bloke was ?? Seems a decent bat but cannot fathom how he's not managed to break into this Pakistan lineup until now. The dude was scouted around in 2009 (Going by PP threads) that's almost 6-7 years from today. Sad Stuff :(

he was in u-19 world cup 2010 , he was winning games with hammad azam
he was also last year one of the highest run getter but very unfortunate to miss out.

He looks sensational when he gets going, but then goes missing for ages. IMO he's a wasted talent.

He was at number 34 amongst top run getters last season in QEA silver+gold.

When he fires he looks classy and brings back lara's memories.

He is inconsistent. He is still 25 , Averages 36 in Fc and 38 in list A but his list A SR is 70 only.
b.lesner when did original lara mature as a batsman ? :-) :-)

TalentSpotterPk and Bullet Drive just broke it down for me - Another Umer Amin variant I guess. We should probably have a wing at NCA to nurture players who are aesthetically and technically correct but do not have big match temperament.

If we somehow manage to cure this ^^ drawback, we'll probably see hordes of Anwars and Inzi coming out of this same system.

Chinese Lara completely sucked the momentum of the innings with bulk of dot balls resulting in Fakhar throwing his wicket with an expensive shot.

Chinese Lara playing well. Need to score a 60.

Bilal Shafaat who plays County Cricket as well as FC for HBL rates him highly.

Good opportunity today.

Was much betttr when I first saw him in the u-19 world cup 2010.
Has only regressed over the years.
And as Saj said in the first post it has something to do with his attitude.

Rameez Aziz has played brilliantly for his third first-class 100 in Round 4 of QeA Trophy

His stats says it all

Nearly 100 FC games averages 33

He's among a big list of players that literally didn't improve overtime despite playing domestic cricket all their lives.

Still remember the hype on here back in 2009 when people started to go crazy over his technique but alas the guy didn't even improve and that average which should have been in the high 30's as a bare minimum by now still lingers in the early 30's.

Domestic cricket is a bit overated in Pakistan as the pitches are dead yet some of these hyped up players can't take advantage or lack the game or can't improve their performance and game over time.

I'm so glad we watered down domestic cricket in Pakistan and made it practically worthless. Now I can watch freaking Rameez Aziz and a bunch of 30-something scrubs score meaningless runs when before they hardly sniffed the 2nd XI. But hey, at least they have jobs now.
