Lol @ Babar Azam showed intent. Overrated talent.
Sarfraz was the only one who showed intent. A fighter. Should take over from Misbah in the 2nd Test.
In the whole batting line up only babar Azam & Sarfraz looks like the players of modern standard.Sami is one dimensional players only has a good defence. Rest r just not too good to be in any good lineups
Babar has all the shots that's why he showed intent.
Sarfraz plays that way always.
Rest of the batsmen defend in UAE and attack when bowlers get tired. In Australia if you defend too much you will get caught out, which happened to all of them.
Sami is a good opener with limited strokes. He will play this way always.
Babar might have all the shots, but his temperament is not good for Test cricket yet, he has been rushed into Test cricket.
What a deluded post.
Babar Azam will be leading Pakistan batsmen over next 10 years or so.
Sarfraz is good but much too often, he throws it away being too attacking.
Both are important for this team.
And Sarfraz has the right temperament?
Were it not for Wade missing the stumping chance, Pakistan would be 9 down at the close with Sarfraz gone for 30 off 30 balls.
We already had a player who can do this type of thing.
Remember Umar Akmal?
Lol. He might be our best batsman in ODI cricket, but not in Test cricket, like Shafiq, he has got temperament issues. Haris Sohail is the real deal.
Fortune favors the brave.
I would still take Umar Akmal over Babar Azam in my starting XI.
The one who has "I cry when my I pinch my nail" fitness?![]()
Your team would be bowled out for 200, 10 times out of 10.
The team playing now would be bowled out for 100 9 times out of 10 , with one off chance they score 300.
Who would you pick?
Doesn't matter either way as far as I know.
Fitness is overrated. He can last for 5 days, is a good fielder, what else do I want?
I don't get what your point is?
Babar Azam is not a world class Test material.
By fitness means he can stand up on his own and be counted.
I am not talking about abs and six packs.
It's about lasting the entire match without injuring yourself. If he could do that, he would already be in the team.
What a deluded post.

And Sarfraz is?
If Babar is not test material, then Sarfraz has no case either, since both average in 40s.
You can't defend one and tell that other is useless, unless you are biased.

Not the most measured reply.
We hope he starts leading more often.
Did everyone forget all of a sudden that ODIs and Tests are different games?
Fair enough to stump for Babar.
But who is not biased in the end?
Sarfraz is not in the team on the strength of his batting alone.
And yes as a wicketkeeper-batsman he is world class. By far the premier choice in Pakistan.
Babar looks good still, and good for him that he put up on some fight.
I haven't said Babar ain't Test material. I said he ain't a world class talent for Test cricket. He is a Test material, but not a world class one. Same goes for Sarfraz, but at least Sarfraz has been gutsy. Ideally, Babar should open in Test cricket alongside Fakhar Zaman.
You said he is "overrated talent".
That is not correct.
He has the highest potential ceiling for any Pakistani batsmen.
Amir and sami aslam also showed some intent
Babar might have all the shots, but his temperament is not good for Test cricket yet, he has been rushed into Test cricket.
Someone needs to hypnotize the players and tell them "It is not gunaah to play your shots", "It is not blasphemy to bat at S/R of 50 plus in test cricket".
Same said about Kohli when given chance that he was rushed to test cricket. Didn't u see Babar carry the bat in NZL in 2nd test on a tough wicket. He is the find of the decade for Pakistan just like Amit. He will quickly adjust to the conditions. Players like Sami is also important for test cricket. Time for the old guns to make some runs or hang their shoes.
Babar is the only 'batsman' in this lineup, while Sarfraz is highly flawed but he has a lot of heart and determination.
Some of the others are not batsmen, some of them are heartless cowards and some are both.
You used to rate azhar and asad highly didnt u?

How is 30 off 30 worse than 22 off 100 or 4 off 20, or 0 off 1?
At least he scores consistently. Don't have a double standard where defensive failures are fine and attacking ones are condemned.
I agree, but one has to look at it objectively.
The only reason I got into the argument with the poster is , he said "overrated talent" to Babar Azam.
Which is the most illogical comment I have seen about him so far.
We need Sharjeel in this line-up. Sharjeel for Shafiq. Sharjeel for Younis. Sharjeel for Sami. I don't care. Somebody with some intent that can put pressure back on the bowlers. We cannot block on like this.
Babar is a class apart. Just needs to improve his concentration otherwise he is our best batsman.
