After hosting an Iftar-dinner, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Sunday said that all opposition parties are on the same page to stage protest demonstrations in and outside the parliament against the government after Eidul Fitr.

Addressing a joint press conference at Zardari House in Islamabad, Bilawal said that every political party had its own manifesto and narrative, but owing to immense challenges facing the country, all opposition parties had decided to sit and devise a unanimous strategy to rid the country of incompetent rulers.

A multi-party conference, under the chairmanship of JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman will be staged in this regard, he added.

Bilawal said the process of consultations will continue in the days and months to come.

The Iftar-dinner was the first occasion when Bilawal and Maryam Nawaz met face to face as key leaders of their respective parties.

The daughter of three-time prime minister Nawaz Sharif was leading a delegation of PML-N leaders including former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Punjab Assembly Opposition Leader Hamza Shehbaz.

The PML-N delegation was personally received by the PPP chairman upon its arrival at Zardari House in Islamabad. Bilawal greeted Maryam and embraced Hamza Shehbaz while Maryam patted him on the back in return.

PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leader Liaquat Baloch, Qaumi Watan Party chairman Aftab Sherpao and Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) leadership among other prominent politicians attended the dinner.

On Friday, Bilawal held a meeting of the PPP’s core committee to discuss the ongoing financial crisis in the country and chalk out a strategy for the party’s anti-government movement which it has announced would be launched after Eidul Fitr against the rising inflation, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) deal and the deteriorating economic conditions.

The participants of the meeting included party leaders Yousaf Raza Gilani, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, Farhatullah Babar, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Rehman Malik, Chaudhry Manzoor, Naveed Qamar, Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, Humayun Khan and Pulwasha Khan.

Later at night, former president Zardari met the JUI-F chief to discuss a joint strategy against the government and the possibility of forging an alliance.

The opposition parties are gearing up to take on the government in the wake of the country’s financial crisis and increasing prices of essential commodities.

The PML-N will hold a meeting on May 20 to discuss its future course of action. It was expected to be held at the opposition leader’s chamber but now the sources said it could take place at the residence of party leader Tariq Fazal Chaudhry.

The JUI-F chief has already announced that his party would march on Islamabad and shut down the federal capital in protest against the government’s policies.

Shameless leaders and there supporters are bigger shameless hypocrites.

Just curious as to why does the PML-N or PPP want to come to power now especially consider the economic situation of the country. Its not like they will have any magic string up their sleeves for these problems.

Not sure about PPP but PMLN is ready to have Marshal Law in the country instead of watching Imran at the top.

One thing these parties know for sure the election ain't happening again anytime soon even if they somehow manage to throw away PTI govt. We just don't have the resources and stability in the country right now to go for another elections that requires time, money (billions) and stability.

Let them start it and all the air time media currently waste on bashing PTI for non issues will be diverted to opposition it's a win-win for PTI govt and govt should give them the container.

So when Imran Khan protests against government on rigging, corruption (Panama scandal) or incompetence then it is anti democratic.

But when Bilawal and Maryam (Zardari and Nawaz) protest against government threatening to throw the government then it is fully democratic and what is more shameless is they are using DEMOCRACY as an excuse which means throwing PTI government will somehow strengthen the democracy.

Let's give them a big round of applause, let's also see how people react to this who always pretended they support democracy and not corrupt parties.

Personally, i have no issue if likes of Maryam, Bilawal etc go out on streets in the leadership of great Maulana Fazlu :)) :)) :)) It's a win win for PTI and they can use this against corrupt crooks in next elections.

And how convenient to protest against government when Zardari and Nawaz are in huge trouble for their corruption especially money laundering and TT scandal.

That is so nice of them. Are they planning on to leave Pakistan along with Zardari and Nawaz for once and all?
