Oudh / Attar - THREAD

I like to smell good, and I try to put enough on that people would notice once you’re approx 20 ft away from them.

I’ve tried all sorts of aftershaves, bakhoor, oudh/attar oils. I have finally found the one that has managed to attract all the females, and even the males lol (especially when you’re shopping in ASDA)

Unfortunately, it was a 12ml oudh oil in those wee jars that was given to me by a friend who comes from Kerala, India.

Now that I’m approaching the last few drops, the guy in Kerala who sells the oudh oil doesn’t speak a word of Hindi, and refuses to ship to the UK.

To all the posters here, it’s time to stop gatekeeping. A brother is in dire need of help.

Give us your suggestions, I’m looking for oudh/attar that not only smells nice but lasts all day and has a lot of strength.

Sigh… I really wanted to gatekeep this but as Muslims whatever good we want for ourselves we want for our brothers,

Went to the stores last week, tried out some designer oud based fragrances- decent, tried a third one and it blew the Tom Ford and Gucci oud based fragrance away in terms of lasting time and doing really well on the fragrance too.

And yet it’s not even at the same level of those 2 brands.

It’s an oud based cologne by Tumi. Yes Tumi. They make designer luggage stuff. Never heard of them before.

Fragrance is called Continuum. Very price friendly, and has serious staying power and projection. I’m talking like 6-8 hours and you can smell it from far.

Would’ve suggested it as number 1 but I think they only ship to Saudi Arabia, not sure if you’re there.

Also goes without saying, but the first one is Oud based cologne, not pure Oud or attar.

The tom ford and Gucci ones were good too and their names are, either Oud Voyager or Oud Wood for the Tom Ford one and Intense Oud from Gucci.

When buying online I stick to these branded ones from reputable sellers. There are many fakes and dupes sold otherwise that even comes in the official packaging but are inferior products.

I would suggest going to buy face to face rather than online. Try and go into one of the shops in the Pakistaniareas. I believe a few sell fragrances, or try the stalls they have in shopping centres, like sunnamusk and a few other brands.

You will get hidden gems there. Otherwise buying a non branded online is a risk.

i’ll look into these.

Currently, I’m using Zimaya Modhesh which is much better than the lattafa khamrah imo.

Have you tried any others from Lattafa?

Have heard the hype around Khamrah, never got it though. Only Lattafa that I have I bought in person

Like @DeadlyVenom said earlier I try to almost always buy in person, if online then only through the official website of known brands.

Yeah, the Oud Mood was better than the Khamrah, lasted longer too.

All I know is that Maulana Tanveer runs one of the best and well known shops in Europe and also exports and ships.
