JALORE: Pitching on the Pulwama martyrs, BJP president Amit Shah sought support for party candidate Devji Patel in his first poll rally in the state this .

Shah began his speech by paying gratitude to the five CRPF personnel from Rajasthan martyred in the Pulwama terror attack.

“I am proud to be in the land of valour and courage. I am here to give my respect to the soldiers who laid down their lives for the nation,” said Shah.

Shah told the crowd that Modi’s biggest achievement is to make the country safe. “Our 56-inch chested PM Modi ordered the air force that tore up the terrorist camps in Pakistan after the Pulwama incident,” said Shah, who asked the cheering crowd if Modi did the right thing. The crowd proclaimed ‘Haan’ (yes).

From boasting the role of Modi government in giving a befitting reply to Pakistan, Shah was quick to drag Congress into the picture. “The entire world celebrated the success of air strikes except the two –Pakistan and the Congress party. The Congress party mourned over the air strikes and its leader Sam Pitroda went to the extent of saying that we should have spoken to them,” said Shah.

Aware that Congress president Rahul Gandhi pitched his main poll plank, Nyuntum Ayay Yojana (NYAY), just a day before in Jalore, Shah took a dig by saying that Rahul’s five generations have ruled the country yet he talks about giving NYAY now. “Rahul baba your family has ruled the nation for years. Tell me what they did for the poor all these years?” Shah asked.

Talking about the difference between BJP and Congress approach in handling Pakistan issue, Shah mocked the Congress president and said, ‘You do ILU ILU (I love you) with them Rahul baba, while we handle them with an iron fist.”

Citing shortage of time, Shah raised a series of questions to attack Congress and the opposition. “Congress ally Omar Abdulla is demanding Prime Minister for Jammu & Kashmir. Can this happen? Can Kashmir go away from India?” he said and concluded his speech by asking the crowd as to who can teach Pakistan a lesson? The crowd screamed, “Modi Modi Modi.”

Probably the most gullible nation in the world.

It is quite understandable that people who live in India are falling for Bollywood inspired fairy tales but those Indians who live in first world countries are falling for it, too.

Positive for Pakistan is that at least on paper, those jahil gullibles from PPP and PMLN have finally turned into minority. It would be a close contest between BJP goons and them on a gullible meter otherwise.

One can learn a lot about people based on the lies that they tell themselves.
Only a cowardly nation would make up stories of false valour.
I hate how these morons are tarnishing the dignity of the Indian Armed forces with their lies.

Can't help contrasting this with the response by the Sri Lankan leadership. They have shown the moral courage to face the truth while the Indian leadership's response has been lies and more lies.

How do you rectify a mistake if you will not even acknowledge making it?
That is why when you go to India the overwhelming impression is of country with falling standards in everything.

PM Modi has proved he is a man with 56-inch chest: Amit Shah

SITAMARHI/SARAN: BJP chief Amit Shah on Sunday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shown he is a man with a "56-inch chest" by destroying terrorist hideouts in Pakistan.

Shah said all anti-national elements will end up behind bars once the Modi government returns to power, as he hit out at Congress chief Rahul Gandhi for what he described as his "temerity" to promise scrapping of the sedition law.

Addressing back-to-back election rallies in Bihar's Sitamarhi and Saran, which will be voting in the fifth phase of national polls on May 6, Shah drew a contrast between Modi and Gandhi, claiming that the Prime Minister has been working "tirelessly for the past 20 years" unlike the Congress chief "who needs a prolonged holiday every few months".

Lambasting the Congress-led UPA for its "inadequate response" to the beheading of Lance Naik Hemraj six years ago, Shah said, "When militants backed by Pakistan dared to attack the Uri army camp, we gave a befitting reply with surgical strikes."

"They did not learn their lessons and attacked the CRPF convoy in Pulwama. Pakistan amassed its troops along the borders thinking that it would protect itself against surgical strikes. But our Prime Minister showed that he is a man with a 56-inch chest and thus came the air strikes that destroyed the terror hideouts in Balakot," Shah said amid a huge applause from BJP supporters.

As long as the BJP is in power, all anti-national elements will end up behind bars, he insisted.

"Rahul 'baba' has the temerity of saying that if voted to power his party will scrap the sedition law. Let me assure him and his allies, as long as the BJP is in power, anti-national elements will continue ending up behind bars and every bullet fired from terrorists will be retaliated with a mortar shell," the BJP president said.

He also targeted the Congress and the RJD, which have been alleging that Modi's claim of belonging to a backward caste was false, asserting that the Prime Minister understands the pain of the downtrodden.

"The Prime Minister is not just a 'pichhda' but an 'ati-pichhda' (EBC) and he has shown his empathy for the the downtrodden by granting constitutional status to the OBC Commission, a move that was opposed by the UPA.

"Modi also appointed Bhagwan Lal Sahni of Muzaffarpur district as the chairman of the commission after it earned constitutional status, thereby giving our OBC brothers in Bihar the respect that has always been their due," he said in a deft play of the caste card.

Shah said no government in the past had the courage to take measures for the economically weak section in the unreserved category.
"It has always been known that in the unreserved category, many were economically weak and needed help. But no government mustered the courage to take action. Our government did and also effected the required constitutional amendments to ensure that the move withstood judicial scrutiny."

The BJP chief also said that the "jodi" (duo) of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi had brought Bihar out of the era of lawlessness, asserting that "things have started moving at an unprecedented speed ever since Modi formed the government at the Centre".

Shah was accompanied by Sushil Kumar Modi at both the rallies.

At Sitamarhi, where he campaigned for JD(U) candidate Sunil Kumar Pintu, those present on the dais included sitting MP Ram Kumar Sharma, who belonged to the RLSP and stood with the party in its decision to sever ties with the NDA a few months ago, but rebelled and announced his support to the BJP-led coalition after he was denied a ticket by party chief Upendra Kushwaha.

At Saran, those present included sitting MP and BJP national spokesman Rajiv Pratap Rudy.

EC Gives Amit Shah Clean Chit Over 'Modi's Airforce' Remark

New Delhi — The Election Commission Friday found no violation of model code or its instructions on armed forces in two speeches delivered by BJP president Amit Shah in West Bengal and Maharashtra.

The Commission concluded that it is of the considered view that in this matter, no such violation of MCC or ECI’s instructions is made out.

Addressing a rally in Krishnanagar in West Bengal, Shah reportedly said when IAF jets pounded terror camps in Balakot, the act was mourned in Pakistan and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s office.

He also reportedly said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi “sent his Air Force” to destroy terror camps in Pakistan after the deadly Pulwama attack in February this year.

“Forty-four of jawans were martyred in Pulwama terror attack. Earlier, nothing used to happen after such incidents. Narendra Modi ordered his Air Force on the 13th day (of the incident) and our aircraft blew the terrorists to pieces in Pakistan,” Shah said at the rally.

Responding to a complaint by Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala against Shah, the poll body said a detailed report of the Chief Electoral Officer, West Bengal was obtained.

“The matter has been examined in detail in accordance with the extant advisories, provisions of the Model Code of Conduct and after examination of complete transcript of speech sent by the DEO Nadia, the Commission is of the considered view that in this matter, no such violation of MCC or ECI’s instructions is made out,” it said.

Addressing another rally in Nagpur on April 9, the BJP president reportedly said when the whole country was rejoicing over the air strike on a terror camp in Balakot, there was mourning only in Pakistan and Rahul Gandhi-led Congress party.

Shah also took a jibe at Gandhi’s public rallies in Wayanad.

The Gandhi scion is contesting the Lok Sabha polls from Wayanad in Kerala along with his traditional bastion of Amethi in Uttar Pradesh.

Shah said Gandhi’s rallies in Wayanad appeared as they were being organised in Pakistan. He also said the Modi government’s biggest success was that it had made India secure which was not the case when the Congress-led UPA was in power.

On this issue too, the Commission said, “The matter has been examined in detail in accordance with the extant advisories, provisions of the Model Code of Conduct and after examination of complete transcript of speech of six pages sent by the DEO Nagpur, Commission is of the considered view that in this matter no such violation of MCC or ECI’s instructions is made out.”

The poll panel, however, decided to issue a show cause notice to Goa minister Mauvin Godinho, who described the Indian Air Force (IAF) as “Modi’s Airforce”.

“The Commission has decided to give a notice and provide Godinho an opportunity to explain his stand in making the references to armed forces, before 5 pm on May 6, failing which the Commission shall take a decision without further reference,” it said.
