JALORE: Pitching on the Pulwama martyrs, BJP president Amit Shah sought support for party candidate Devji Patel in his first poll rally in the state this .
Shah began his speech by paying gratitude to the five CRPF personnel from Rajasthan martyred in the Pulwama terror attack.
“I am proud to be in the land of valour and courage. I am here to give my respect to the soldiers who laid down their lives for the nation,” said Shah.
Shah told the crowd that Modi’s biggest achievement is to make the country safe. “Our 56-inch chested PM Modi ordered the air force that tore up the terrorist camps in Pakistan after the Pulwama incident,” said Shah, who asked the cheering crowd if Modi did the right thing. The crowd proclaimed ‘Haan’ (yes).
From boasting the role of Modi government in giving a befitting reply to Pakistan, Shah was quick to drag Congress into the picture. “The entire world celebrated the success of air strikes except the two –Pakistan and the Congress party. The Congress party mourned over the air strikes and its leader Sam Pitroda went to the extent of saying that we should have spoken to them,” said Shah.
Aware that Congress president Rahul Gandhi pitched his main poll plank, Nyuntum Ayay Yojana (NYAY), just a day before in Jalore, Shah took a dig by saying that Rahul’s five generations have ruled the country yet he talks about giving NYAY now. “Rahul baba your family has ruled the nation for years. Tell me what they did for the poor all these years?” Shah asked.
Talking about the difference between BJP and Congress approach in handling Pakistan issue, Shah mocked the Congress president and said, ‘You do ILU ILU (I love you) with them Rahul baba, while we handle them with an iron fist.”
Citing shortage of time, Shah raised a series of questions to attack Congress and the opposition. “Congress ally Omar Abdulla is demanding Prime Minister for Jammu & Kashmir. Can this happen? Can Kashmir go away from India?” he said and concluded his speech by asking the crowd as to who can teach Pakistan a lesson? The crowd screamed, “Modi Modi Modi.”
