The Earth’s climate is changing before our eyes.

With record-breaking temperatures around the globe, satellite images reveal our planet to be a massive fireball — making the effects of climate change hard to ignore.

The map from the University of Maine’s Climate Reanalyzer show Tuesday’s forecasted average air temperature when measured from six feet above sea level. The temperature projections were generated using the NCEP Global Forecast System (GFS) model, which is the National Weather Service’s primary forecasting model.

The disturbing data displayed on the map is not a one-off occurrence. Since the beginning of June, temperature records have been set across the Northern Hemisphere.

On Tuesday, for example, the mercury hit 106 degrees in Japan, which is the country’s highest ever recorded temperature. The heat wave has killed at least 44 people.

According to the Washington Post, Japan is not alone:

• In North America: Multiple locations in Southern California; Denver; Montreal; Mount Washington, N.H.; and Burlington, Vt.

• In Europe: Multiple locations in Norway, Finland and Sweden; Glasgow, Scotland; Shannon, Ireland; Belfast and Castlederg, Northern Ireland.

• In Eurasia: Multiple locations in central and eastern Russia; Tbilisi, Georgia; and Yerevan, Armenia.

• In Asia: In addition to Japan, Taiwan may have posted its highest temperature on record.

In England, meanwhile, a heat wave has gotten so bad that much of the country has turned from lush green to parched brown, revealing long-hidden historical sites.

Even more disturbing, a new Stanford University study found a connection between global warming and suicide, suggesting more people may take drastic measures as the mercury climbs.

so a few cities have recorded thr hottest temp this year - and your suggesting with this article - our planet is one big fireball.

Dramatic dont you think

Haven't experienced a summer so dry here in the UK for a long long time, it was also snowing earlier in the year after what felt like an eternity.

First time in my life I saw 113 degrees in Texas. This year has been the hottest in years.

Global warming is a fact. Those in denial need to accept it that the climate is changing.

That's right, so why give more money to the army which creates these problems.

Can just invest in greener energy

Pakistan is not going to make the planet greener or browner, it's way too small a carbon footprint on the world.

Why look at the world and not just Pakistan.

The fumes from these old engines are everywhere to see--even in Pakistan. The carbon footprint for Pakistan health on Air pollution is something to be worried about.

Look we need more trees - everywhere - the billion tree project was great, but it needs to go to every big city - my family is from bahawalphur - it's green, tidier than most other cities, however its so hot, yes we do have the biggest solo power land in the world.

Look at Pakistan rivers--just pure filthy - fisherman can't survive along with the farmers - water is on the extreme low. Power shortages everyday.
Im in for more power plants as well - we do need them, realistically karachi / faisalabad/peshawar all need a power plant.
However I have friends and family members who have been to countries like - Switzerland/ sweeden/Norway - you will come to love the natural beauty of these countries - all based about greener energy

Pakistan needs proper up to date facilities

Coz we need to defend our country unless you want Pak to resemble Iraq or Syria. If others give up their weapons then so should we.

pakistan is not next - iran is on america list.

i dont think pakistan will ever be invaded - america will always destabilize us - especially as we side more and more with china

Pakistan will not be invaded coz we have many weapon systems and nukes. This is thanks to our military might. We can not ever take anything for granted, just look at Arab countries. America will not attack Iran either, these rumours have been around for many years.
