"Pace will increase & I will be a better bowler with the new bowling action": Mohammad Hasnain

148 kph, 149kph and then 154 kph from Hasnain.

The pace is still there no doubt.

And a good result

<div style="width: 100%; height: 0px; position: relative; padding-bottom: 56.250%;"><iframe src="https://streamable.com/e/yx0rud" frameborder="0" width="100%" height="100%" allowfullscreen style="width: 100%; height: 100%; position: absolute;"></iframe></div>

His pace hasn’t gone down.He needs to be consistent and not give too many freebies.I hope will learn from his mistakes and become a better bowler.Rauf and Naseem have improved so I expect Hasnain to improve also.It will probably not happen but would like to see Shaheen,Rauf,Naseem and Hasnain play in some games in Australia. If Chacha Ifti is playing then no need for Nawaz.Shadab is the main spinner.

Out of today's match with a viral illness according to PCB.

Smashed to all parts again today.

It seems to me as if he is the weak link in the current group of Pakistani pacers.

Definitely weakest link. Keep on bowling short and didn't learn his lesson. Dumbfounded by this approach

He's had a bad outing. That shouldnt overshadow the previous good ones in the AC cup and Eng series, talking specifically about his opening spells.

Sorry to say, but as of right now, it just seems that he just shows up and bowls and does not have the capability to setup/out think a batsman. Seems to be in the mould of Sami.

Coaches probably need to give him a plan for each over he bowls.

He needs a lot of development ,I agree with that. Though I also think we shouldn't base our judgment on the last two games and also consider his opening spells in the last 8 games before those.

His biggest problem seems to be inability to perform in pressure. Whenever he's hit for a boundary at the start of the over, he tends to lose it. When the initial balls are fine, he only gets better. Something he needs to work on and also will get better with experience.

I am also worried about his action - seeing some bits in his action which make me uncomfortable. Given that it was Australia where he was called first - I just hope Pak team management are keeping an eye on this.

M Hasnain is M Sami 2.0... all the facets to be great, but no brains/IQ on how to operate... becomes easy target... he needs to stop being cute out there, be ruthless and use the brain to outsmart the batsman, lacks creativity in his bowling variations...

I have concerns over that too. Not that you can actually pick anything dodgy on plain tv coverage, as you'd need consecutive stills side and front one to even broadly assess the degree of straightening, but because once someone had been called for chucking and proven afterwards, there is always this sword hanging over their head.

Also considering how quickly he came back into action after the remodel, I have concerns whether the change in the action (mainly the gather) was allowed enough time to actually mature.

He clearly needs to develop mental resilience. My hope is since he's still very young and inexperienced, he will develop it with time.

Casing speed is pointless.
The best bowlers in the world have always bowled 130-140k .
Extreme pace is overrated and only useful vs batsmen with poor skills/techniques/tail enders

Have you been watching this tournament? Outright pace and bounce on these wickets has troubled all the batsmen, including Kohli who except for a couple of outstanding shots also struggled.

Some of the best bowlers in the world have been 130-140kph, others have been 145kph+, think of Brett Lee, Shoaib, Lillee, Thomo, the WI greats.

Pace with accuracy is far better than military medium with accuracy.

Really pathetic to see young Pak players play in a T10 leauge.

PCB is making this mistake all the time.

Pace will increase and he will be a better bowler. If not, then he will increase more pace and will expect again to be a better bowler. And one day he will be discarded completely and start playing t10 cricket.

Mohammad Hasnain has not been granted NOC to play in the LPL because PCB/team management want him to play in the Pakistan Cup and prepare himself for future Pakistan duties

Still a liability , Hasnain is - inspires no confidence at all!

Pagals are the ones who selected him.

Geez this guy has no presence. With his pace he should be going places. Still bowls the odd gem of a delivery every now and then. He still has a role to play as a back up bowler.

He needs to play consistently to improve. The PCB should have made sure that he was playing 4 day games in domestic cricket.

Yeah he bowled badly but this is what happens when you don't play for so long. Just keep travelling with the team with no game time doesn't help.

Brainless bowler, lacks aggression. Haven’t seen such a soft fast bowler

A nothing bowler - just a bowling machine set at 90mph with the occasional decent yorker or swinging delivery.

He has absolutely no nerve at the death - even Liam Dawson carted him around. Can we move on from this failed investment already ?

Shouldn’t be selected in first place what are his performances. Absolute nothing as I said he gets picked due to sindh quota.

Lol 'bowling machine', well put :))

Hasnain has been around for ages now, constantly on the fringes of selection but never manages to impress when he gets a shot.

He's still young. Let the guy improve for a few seasons in domestic and get himself back into the side through his performances rather than just because he can clock high on the speed gun.

Really pathetic to see young Pak players play in a T10 leauge.

PCB is making this mistake all the time.

Hasnain is also making a huge mistake. If he works hard on his game he has potential to be a mainstay in all 3 formats.

He has pace, bounce, height and international experience. He needs to build on this by adding more to his armoury rather than more to his bank balance. This can only be achieved by hard work in a full domestic season and pushing for spots in league or county cricket.

He doesn’t have the nerve to play shorter format , he can be good test bowler with his high pace and bounce out swinging delivery, he just need keep bowling that and mix it up his line and length in test matches to be successful, should concentrate on 4 day cricket instead of T20 or ODIs , he is a bowler who can single-handedly lose you matches in couple overs in a pressure situation, highly unreliable and extremely poor in pressure situations, should now where near in ODIs and T2Ois

Been with the side since 2019

Been a main feature for many franchises in their leagues

Yet still cannot deliver consistency at this level!

Is it not harsh to play him in a decider and expect amazing results? has Hasnain received a long rope and failed or more of inconsistent chances and failures? if it’s the latter then I’d say it’s harsh.

There is no proper support system to develop these guys, not everyone is a Shaheen or Babar who’s talents and abilities go beyond coaching/support, some talents with some good raw tools need to be nurtured properly

Hasnain done well today

Was the difference between the teams today. Brilliant 11th over and overall was very consistent.

If he gets his lines right, can always be a brilliant bowler

Not sure how Wasim and Dahani are rated above him by the PCB.

Evades my mind completely as well..Hasnain if developed properly has so much more to offer than either of those 2.
Confidence and backing seems to play a huge role in how he plays. He's still so young, it makes sense. In the Pakistani team, he sort of looks under pressure all the time, specially when he gets hit the first few balls of the over.

With Quetta , he seems much more assured. In the Post match interview he said he was asked by sarfraz to come back for the second spell specifically to break that partnership. That's the kind of support that does prop up a youngster confidence greatly.

Hasnain played better when Sarfraz was captain.

Someone got the stats?

He is doing well under Sarfraz at the PSL. Just like how he did well when he Sarfraz captained Pakistan team.

When Babar captains him, Hasnain is a different and less effective bowler.

The last paragraph tells you how good of captain Sarfraz is.

The most upsetting part was how Babar continuously selected Wasim Jr over him. His one bad over during the Pak-England series brushed aside all his great performances in Asia Cup and beyond.

Mohammad Hasnain has been absolutely brilliant today vs a very confident Islamabad line-up - 2 top quality wickets to his name

He is head and shoulders far superior bowler to M Wasim, Dahani, Hasan Ali, Faheem Ashraf, etc, who all have played more international cricket than him over the last year or so.

Breathing fire and bowling with great venom this PSL. Standout bowler so far alongside Ihsanullah

His death bowling needs massive improvement.

Brainless. Hit him a boundary and he starts bowling rubbish. Should not be trusted will cost a big game with his brainless bowling.

Quite young. Has all the ingredients. Fastest bowler in Pakistan.

Should learn to get his radar right and get more consistency.
And given fast bowling resources, improving his batting would make his profile stronger.

Should also target test debut

PCB obsession with t20 cricket is lethal for our fast bowlers.

Hasnain, Rauf, Shaheen are all obsessed with t20s and not prioritizing tests. It’s a bit sad to see, this is coming from someone who understands tests will eventually die and/or only really be played seriously between India Australia and England (maybe NZ too)

You can’t become truly world class if you don’t have the basic fundamentals you learn in tests. Bowling cutters and slower ones is great to survive in t20 cricket, as that’s what bowlers try to do in that format. But you won’t learn to dominate as a fast bowler there most likely.

Just see what Haris Rauf went through. Even in the format supposedly his speciality. Couldn’t back himself with enough confidence in his own speed. Used slower ones as a crutch and got tonked Vs India at the end.

Tests build character that t20s won’t. Instead of messing around in Bangladesh agarbathi t20 league. Should instead take FC far more seriously than he’s currently doing.

He has the ingredients. We have the technology. He’s just as talented as Shaheen. Shaheen has the killer instinct though.

Where has he disappeared? Is he injured or just out of favour?

He has been recovering from an ankle injury.

He's back bowling now and is working with the coaches at the NHPC in Lahore.

InshAllah I hope the injury doesn’t affect his pace. He’s a clear example of a player that needs to play all the first class cricket he can get. The selectors/Mickey need to drill that into him. He has all the raw ingredients, but bowling smarts come from putting the hard yards in domestic cricket. Would have loved to have seen him win a County contract, but that Injury was really untimely.

First class cricket?
Hasnain is only playing in leauges all around. I am sure of Somalia arranges a 5 over mickey mouse leauge, he will be there as well.

Its a shame the set up is not able to groom players. Also the so called seniors have no clue / cant take real ownership.

I think inshAllah Mickey’s hiring will bring positive results in this aspect. Whilst in his previous tenure, results were inconsistent, he did quite well in developing players.

Given that he’s now overseeing the national team in a director’s capacity, he’s going to be quite blunt w/ Hasnain on what Hasnain needs to do to develop properly.

Then it’s up to Hasnain to follow the directions.

Hasnain has played plenty of international cricket. He's been on the scene since 2019. I don't think he is emerging anymore regardless of what his listed age might be.

He is going down the route of being a poor man's Mohammad Sami. Pakistan have a lot of young fast bowling options so i don't think Hasnain missing out is anything other than his own fault.

He has had 4 years to develop his bowling. Naseem Shah has improved with time. Hasnain is still the same as of 2019. Another Mohd Sami in the making.

Sliding down the pecking order very quickly.

I'd be worried if I were him if I couldn't make the Emerging squad at the moment.
