Pahalgam attack: At least 26 tourists died in the attack [UPDATE@ POST#963]

Any evidence of India's involvement in BLA?

We have plenty of evidence of LET operating in Kashmir.

Even this new group is an offshoot of LET. The same ideology.

TRF emerged in 2019 and is considered an offshoot of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), according to the South Asia Terrorism Portal, a Delhi-based think tank.

This is your evidence. Who cares what a Delhi based think tank are saying.

Your government should present the evidence to the ICJ.

In the morning i was cynical about tourism in Kashmir but now i am sure tourism will return soon looking at the reaction of the Kashmiris.

But we must clean house first. Need all the support from the locals. Let’s defeat these terrorists together hand in hand

Real sad for all those who are affected by this, Modi government needs to invest a lot more money in Kashmir, turn it into a major economic hub of India, and not only for tourism...

She isn’t wrong. The Modi government won’t acknowledge failure, because doing so would mean accountability. Instead, it has to appear decisive, and the easiest route has always been to shift the blame outward, first to Pakistan, and then inward, toward the Muslims of India.

But what truly deserves attention is the humanity that rarely makes headlines, like the Muslims of Kashmir who came to the rescue of their Hindu tourists. Stories like that don’t serve a narrative, but they do restore perspective, and hopefully, more people start sharing them.

Modi’s approval rating will go down if a strong action isn’t undertaken by the government and we might need to replace this government with a more hyper nationalist government.

BJP probably has been trying to become the next Congress. Never forget that it was their original idea in 2000s that failed royally and after two decades they once again seem to be trying to become Congress 2.0

India does not have to provide any evidence to anyone. Neither US, nor the West cares how many people die in Kashmir due to militancy.

It is India's duty to stamp out these scum and bottom feeders. Watch the below videos and you will understand who these people are.

Can we stick to the most recent incident.

TRF has links to Pakistan, that’s your claim.

And, the evidence you showed us was an article written by Shilpa who quoted a Delhi based think tank.

This seems like fake news and it wouldn't surprise me if it is later rectified.
i think its true. I saw some of the videos, the way some were killed does back up regarding the circumcision claim. Because some of the bodies of the victims had pants that were pulled down. It is horrific.

But yes, it will be spinned of as anti hindu, no matter how the locals tried to help the survivors get back to the road access

Not Pakistan as in government of Pakistan. It has links to groups based in Pakistan.

Tea and biscuits on the menu this time round
I haven’t heard that myself, and I genuinely hope it didn’t come from any official in Pakistan. That said, knowing how emotionally charged people in the subcontinent can get under pressure, it wouldn’t be surprising if someone lost their cool.

Bravo Kashmiris 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Long live India..

Today Kashmir is completely shut down. People are being appealed to join the shutdown through loudspeakers installed in mosques and people themselves are protesting on the streets against the attack. For the first time in 35 years, Kashmir has stood up against a terrorist attack. It is protesting unitedly.

Militants in Indian Kashmir segregate men from women and children before opening fire

By Fayaz Bukhari

SRINAGAR, India (Reuters) - Militants who killed 26 people in India's Kashmir region separated the men from the women and children and asked the men their names before shooting them at close range, security officials and survivors said on Wednesday.

About 1,000 tourists and 300 local service providers were in the Baisaran Valley - known as mini Switzerland for its lush hilltop meadow, surrounded by dense pine forests - when three gunmen launched the Tuesday attack, the worst in India in nearly two decades.

The heavily-armed attackers roamed around the grasslands and fired 60 rounds of ammunition, but did not shoot women and children, a security official, who did not want to be named as he was not authorised to speak to the media, said. His account was based on conversations with survivors.

Asavari Jagdale, from India's western state of Maharashtra, lost her father and uncle in the attack. She told local media that she and her family hid inside a nearby tent along with other tourists when the shooting started.

When the militants reached their tent, Asavari said they asked her father, Santosh Jagdale, to come out and recite an Islamic verse.

"When he failed to do so, they pumped three bullets into him, one on the head, one behind the ear and another in the back," she said. "My uncle was next to me. The terrorists fired four to five bullets into him."

SAVED BY CHANTING ISLAMIC VERSES

Debasish Bhattacharyya, a Hindu who teaches at Assam University and who grew up in a Muslim neighbourhood in the state, said he was familiar with Islamic verses. The militants ordered him and those nearby onto their knees and when the others started chanting the verses, he followed along.

"I knew the words and, at that moment, it was probably the only way to save our lives. Those who failed, were killed," he told Reuters, adding that they fled when the gunmen left and trekked through a forest for two hours to survive.

The attackers were dressed in traditional long shirts and loose trousers and one of them was wearing a bodycam, a security source said, adding that the militants opened fire at three spots across the Baisaran Valley, a popular tourist destination.

Some tourists were shot at the eateries located in the meadow, while some were taken to the forests and shot there, the security source said.

Visitors have to trek or hire ponies to reach Baisaran, situated about 4 km (about 2.5 miles) from the Pahalgam area of the Himalayan federal territory.

It offers adventure sports facilities such as ziplining and zorbing and also serves as a campsite for trekkers trying to reach Tulian Lake, an alpine lake situated around 11 km from Baisaran.

Prashant Satpathy, his wife and nine-year-old son had traveled from the eastern state of Odisha and were on the last day of their four-day trip.

They had just completed a zipline ride when a bullet hit Satpathy on his head, his wife, Priyadarshini, told local media. "He collapsed before my eyes," she said.

Adil Hussain Shah, a pony ride operator from Pahalgam, was also among the 26 dead in the attack.

"We have heard that he did not die just like that, he was displaying bravery... this was a person who tried to stop the attack, and maybe also tried to grab the gun, that is why he was targeted," Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah told reporters after visiting Shah's family on Wednesday.

There is no game here. The only game is played on the other side of the border.

India can foul 99 attempts by militants to kill innocents. But the Militants only need to succeed once. That is exactly what we are seeing now.

In India today, religion isn’t just a part of daily life, it’s increasingly becoming the litmus test for everything. From landlords renting only to Hindus, to shops being forced shut for selling meat, to people being coerced into saying ‘Jai Shri Ram’, even new laws seem to carry a religious undercurrent.

They cant cut ties. No matter what there is some level of cooperation that goes on.

India learned a big lesson when they cut ties with Taliban in 1999 and hte hijacking took place.

So let me get this straight, not a single terrorist caught, not one killed, no investigation complete, and the bodies aren’t even cold, yet the Indian government and media rushed to blame Pakistan without hesitation.

Meanwhile, they're offering rewards for information on terrorists supposedly hiding within India? Maybe start there before turning it into another cross border blame game.

CCS decided -
Indus water treaty held in abeyance
Attari border closed
Pakistani nationals under SAARC visas cancelled not allowed, 48 hours to leave India
Defence Military personnel in Pak HC to be withdrawn. India will do the same
5 support staff withdrawal in HC both sides

Only 30 ppl allowed in the High Commission. So bare minimum diplomatic relations between India and Pakistan.

But it is the Indus Water Treaty which is the most significant one. Pak sure to go to international court but who care.

Emptying out the Pakistan High Commission is a significant move. If any overt action is on the cards in the coming weeks, there is no room for diplomatic channels.

They will be caught if they are still on the Indian side of the border and locals do not hide them in their house's basement. Just give it some time.

Does the Indian government even know who they’re looking for? Any names, photos, videos, anything? Because offering a reward before even identifying the terrorists isn’t justice, it’s theatre.

Yes. At least in the Indian media, they have released the names and sketches of the terrorists. Whether you as a Pakistani believe it or not is your choice.

"The suspects have been identified as Asif Shaikh, Suleman Shah and
and Abu Talha"

Great, now go after them, are they Pakistani?

India asks Pakistani nationals to leave Indian soil
Keep the dates in mind
1 May: Those Pakistanis who came to India via Wagha Attari border
1 week: Pakistani Military Diplomats who are declared Persona non Grata
48 hrs: Pakistani nationals on SAARC visa

I am disappointed in such a low reward. I see many of our Indian brothers talk about high rewards in IPL and chat about it but to give such a low reward for one of the biggest massacres is quite poor.

Give a reward to such a level that any potential coconspirator will see dollar signs and hand them over.

Next update is already share hope all is well . :kp

An all party meeting to be convened tomorrow on the terror attack related situation. HM Amit shah and RM Rajnath Singh are speaking to all parties. :kp

Pakistan is involved meaninglessly without any concrete evidence , like a soft target being ragged in it. However Pakistan did not spared Iran when they did adventure although its a Muslim nation then who India which already has taste of Tea

Those vermin do not even deserve a single paisa for their head. They will be caught eventually.

In simple terms India has basically frozen the Indus water treaty. Basically means no data sharing, no obligation to share the water under the treaty.
:kp

Its great to see Kashmiri muslims showing solidarity with Hindus. The entire India standing together in this time of crisis shows that the powers that want to destabilize the Indian Kashmir will never have large scale support even among local Kashmiris. All they want is education and job opportunities and that is exactly what India can offer them. (y)
