Pakistan (146/9) secure a 41-run victory against UAE (105) and qualify for the Super Four of the Asia Cup 2025

Rauff is inconsistent , he can win you some games but always there is a chance will get hammered and lose easy games. Pakistan need to get in a reliable fast bowler. Someone who is accurate.

His progression has been wonderful. He was thrown as a young kid in Test matches infront of England's BazzBall. The start was alright for him personally but we wondered if it was a little too early.

A few ups and downs in between. But yes you are correct, this year he has been fantastic in all formats.
 
Nice...so we have another India Pakistan match on Sunday. Have to find a place to watch it at least for a bit.

Should be spicy given all the background. Hopefully doesn't get too bitter. A few declined handshakes and snarky comments at press conferences is fine and adds to the spice.

To be honest, I was in two minds, I wanted Pakistan to lose but at the same time I thought that beating Pakistan on Sunday would be more enjoyable than beating UAE.

We will smashed every team to win the Asia Cup. So doesn't matter much for us

On flat tracks these minnows would not just run Pakistan close but defeat them.. Pak has the worst batting outfit in world cricket
 
A crucial point from Salman Agha. Even in collapses Pakistan is getting to 140-150. If only the batting can click then Pakistan can compete even against India

And what is India's place in cricket? Even if qudrat somehow showers all its blessings on the pakistan team and they overcome India this Sunday - do you really think they'd be able to repeat that twice in a row? Better pray that Pak follows the script for this sunday and loses as expected, and then pray real hard for a miracle for the final - may be the ct miracle of yesteryears might happen again for Pak and Fakhar plays a blinder
 
Got out of jail thanks to SSA's late cameo with the bat.

Bowling would not have come into the equation had the target been < 120.

Batting is a major worry ... to put it mildly

If only Salman Agha had any talent and skill, he would be the second coming of Inzamam.

Ifs mean nothing. This garbage batting unit has been brutally exposed. This whole intent and new template drama has proved to be a load of hogwash.

Teams with intent don’t put up such scores. Intent is shown on the pitch not in press conferences.

These players clearly don’t have the talent and the chops.

Haven't you seen enough? Pak batters are crap, with the exception of may be Fakhar who can genuinely punish a cricket ball on his good days. On a flat track, these jokers will score something like 150/160, and the minnows might just chase it as the spinners wouldn't be able to put the mockers on the chase

Don't care about Rizwan but it was an OK team with Babar in there. At the moment it is a bad cricket team.....hope all this criticism gets to their heads and somehow makes them perform though.... the mediocrity on display especially in batting lately is embarassing

Tell me when has Pak, in their entire history, been this susceptible to losing to downright minnows?
Every single victory seems like a hard grind and a come from behind victory.
Even the one today where uae were very much in the game until the fag end of the match

When did India lose their last T20? Pakistan has won 12 of their last 16 games with Hesson

One loss was against India.

One of the most puzzling decisions Pakistan made today was sending out of from Agha at 4 instead of in-form Haris. What was going through their mind I don't know, but I hope they don't keep making this foolish mistake again and again.

Pakistan was always like that against minnows....in 2019 world cup smashed south africa England and New Zealand but lost badly to westindies and almost lost to Afghans.....its not new....in 2022 t20 also lost to zimbabwe but smashed south africa and NZ

West Indies loss was not accident. They bombarded pakistan with bouncers and they succumbed to it.

Pakistan were unlucky to lose that toss. I remember the weather being very overcast too. It very easily could have been Windies out cheaply had the toss gone the other way, but that's just cricket I guess. Ended up being the difference between Pakistan getting to the semi-finals.

I distinctly remember they were unable to take on short balls. Pakistan didn't have the ammunition to bounce out Windies.

According to the stats shown on TV , Pak team has played the 2nd highest number of attacking shots in this Asia Cup with a worst success rate of 14% which was below Oman success rate of 20% (the 2nd worst in this Asia Cup) it tells that intent is definitely there but talent is not there to convert that intent.

Pak was unlucky to miss out on Lanka Game which got washed out. Win there would have gotten us past NZ. Perhaps It was India’s Bad luck NZ got through

This was evidence without this stat. But this has clearly shown the skill gap. This table only consists of lower ranked sides. Even here Pakistan is at the bottom. Imagine the table next to bigger teams that are not here. This average also indicates this team can collapse from 70/1 to 80/6 in no time literally anywhere against any team in quest of quick runs.

“I think it was very surprising that in the post-match talk, Agha said we need to improve our batting in the middle overs, whereas our problem starts right from the beginning. Almost every time, we lose our first two batters, so our innings basically starts with us already two wickets down,”

“ I believe we need to address that issue first. Especially in these conditions, as I keep saying, once the spinners come on and the circle opens up a bit, it becomes difficult, and that’s when we lose wickets. If you’re already 0–2, then you’re going nowhere,”

Other Big teams can upset India on their Day

With the batting at Display and Short comings we have displayed Against UAE , We have no hope on this Sunday Either.

Farhan’s footwork has suddenly disappeared. the ball he gave his wicket against UAE , on normal day he would tonk this on Short leg , But today he was stuck in crease and out of position to play that. Saim’s off side game is complete trash. Teams know this now

What nonsense? How is Misbah wrong? Misbah is spot on! Saim has gotten out for a first ball duck in three consecutive games, and Farhan is badly struggling, scoring at less than a run a ball throughout the tournament so far.

No they won’t. No way Pakistan can even fluke a win against India. The gap is just too big. Wishful thinking from Pakistan fans to cheer them up but we are struggling to beat UAE and India has been maintaining their unbeaten run since the T20 championship win.

There have been plenty of slumps for good players

Saim is the same player on who’s back you won overseas ODI series against Australia and South Africa.

We know he’s a quality player. We will back him all the way. We stand with our players in their best times, we must stand with them in their worst too.
