25 off 6.

And oh god it's Hasan Ali bowling. How many wides/no balls is he gonna bowl in this to blow this.

this is going to go down in the history of pakistan cricket as significant series victory. the ushering in of the new guard... the change of batten, a new beginning, and the herald of a new era.

Lots of learnings for WI. Can't afford Hope and Carty in their lineup.

Rutherford can't bowl.

Replace Hope and Carty with another hitter and a bowler and they're probably much better off.

Pakistan win , but I hope this is the last time we have seen hassan Ali. He should no longer be played.
he cranked it up in his last 2. Which also means he did nt give his best Yesterday as far effort bowling goes.. Bowled some juicy hit me balls to motie and romario.. cost us gamr

Loved watching this match! Beautiful batting performance and decent bowling performance. Its clear as daylight that we need to kick Faheem out of the bowling line up and badly need Wasim Jnr or Aaamir Jamal type of a player in the team. Khushdil is also mediocre.

Great series win though - it will at least shut the saya mafia for a good amount of time.

Even though i call Nawaz a parchi, but he does have some utility to be in the squad. Since they are not giving chances to younger spinning all rounders like Arafat Minhas so we dont even know whats out there in domestics.

Salman is such a leader, absolutely love this guy. The way he recognised Sufyan Muqeem in his ending words, and asked him to come up and pick the winning trophy was SO beautiful to see. I have never seen this in Pakistan cricket in recent times. Zero selfishness. Agha has true leadership skills. Massive props to PCB mgmt for identifying this.

Exactly, stats wont tell u the actual contribution of Sufiyan in this series but the way Agha recognised it shows that he really cares about the team and valuing important contributions. Bro, i am so happy we have Agha as our leader.

Also Salman Not coming out to bat shows he remains flexible and not position fixated like previous regime. It shows he does nt care about his stats to counter Saya Narrative. Plays according to situation. If quick wickets fall down he can come up and hold one end like in second t20. we always need one batter like that in middle

Overall that was a very close and competitive series. Positive to see Pakistan end up with the series win. The team is clearly still a work in progress and I do have a few concerns but let's get to the positives first:

Spinners - Sufiyan showed impressive control and kept it tight. WI always got good starts in PP but thy got suffocated by the spinners in the middle. Nawaz and Saim Ayub did an excellent at keeping it tight and contained throughout the series. For a few years it was a real struggle for Pakistan spinners to contain or take wickets in the middle overs. Hopefully this is a sign of Pakistan spinners applying the chokehold like we used to see in the past.

Hasan Nawaz - Just keeps impressing me. His sixes hitting ability is impressive and particularly in the 2nd game when all the Pakistani batters were struggling, he kept Pakistan in the game. Feels like a real find in the middle order for the foreseeable future.

Saim Ayub - Batting wise he wasn't quite at his best but certainly turning the corner. Two fifties in the series and he had to struggle a bit in some difficult conditions and had to really dig in to get his runs. He was struggling a little batting wise before this series but nice to see him come around and get runs under his belt. Bowling wise he was outstanding.

Now for the negatives:

Pace attack - Oh boy. What has happened to the deadly pace attack Pakistan used to be famous for? Shaheen was mediocre. Rauf was just OK. Hasan Ali was terrible. he needs to be removed from the squad for sure in favour of Naseem/Wasim or even Mirza. Simply put, he is not a T20 bowler with his erratic line/lengths and middle pace. We can't forget all the no-balls as well on a consistent basis and that is simply not something you can accept from a T20 bowler these days. Faheem needs to go as well. Terrible allrounder who doesn't threaten, contain or do anything positive as a bowler and he is a mediocre batsmen. Just play Abbas Afridi over him permanently. At least he is a threatening bowler and has power to hit sixes.

To me, the pace attack is a serious red flag on this team. They lack any penetration with the new ball and they lack control or consistency and simply put, this is a veteran group. The batters get a leeway with how inexperienced most of them but the poor performance from this veteran pace attack remains confusing and shocking.

Batting - Batting lineup overall remains erratic. I think it's concerning how mediocre they are batting wise in the PP even with their aggressive approach. I am willing to give it more rope though with how young and inexperienced most of the batting lineup is though but I would like to see this team string some consistency in their results.

Overall good for the group to walk away with a series win and something for this team to continue building upon.

Farhan’s coming of age - showing how much of a top talent he is. Saim coming back into form, Hassan Nawaz smashin it all over like its no problemo. Fakhar also doing pretty well overall gives me a lot of confidence in our batting lineup.

What majorly needs to change is our bowling lineup. We need to bring Wasim Jnr, Aamir Jamal and Hasnain back into the fold. They should be tried in tri series and Asia cup.

Pakistan clinch West Indies series despite injury to batter

An injury to key batter Fakhar Zaman has overshadowed Pakistan's impressive 2-1 T20I series triumph over the West Indies in Florida.
Opener Fakhar Zaman will take no further part in Pakistan's white-ball series against the West Indies as the Asian side wrapped up the three-game T20I series in style in Florida on Sunday.

Fakhar hurt his hamstring during the second game of the series in Lauderhill and was sidelined as Pakistan registered a narrow 13-run triumph over the West Indies to clinch a seventh straight T20I series against the Caribbean side.

Pakistan confirmed the injury to Fakhar and said the left-hander will return home and take no part in the upcoming three-match ODI series with the West Indies.

“Fakhar will return to Pakistan on the evening of August 4 and will continue his rehabilitation under the supervision of the PCB medical team at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore,” Pakistan confirmed.

The injury to Fakhar overshadowed the series victory by Pakistan, who received strong contributions from a host of players across the three T20I contests in Florida

Spinner Mohammad Nawaz was adjudged Player of the Series for his seven wickets at an average of 10 and the left-armer was one of five Pakistan bowlers to pick up a wicket n the series finale as the West Indies fell short in their pursuit of the visitors' total of 189/4.

Openers Sahibzada Farhan (74) and Saim Ayub (66) each scored a half-century to help Pakistan post a good score after they were sent into bat first by West Indies captain Shai Hope and a clinical bowling performance ensured the home side could not overhaul their total.

Alick Athanaze (60) and Sherfane Rutherford (51) scored half-centuries of their own to give the West Indies hope, but Hasan Ali, Haris Rauf and Nawaz used their experience to ensure Pakistan held on.

The teams will now meet in three ODI contests with the first match to take place in Trinidad on Friday.

People getting happy on this series win, we beat a West Indies B side guys.

Asia Cup is going to be extremely painful :uak

Sahibzada Farhan at the post-match presentation 🎙️

"Whenever I score runs, Pakistan usually wins — and that makes me very happy. The conditions weren’t too different today, but Saim Ayub and I just wanted to take the game on and keep the scoreboard ticking. I really enjoy batting with him — there’s a good understanding between us.

We’ve won 2 out of the last 3 series, so the momentum is building nicely. Now we’re looking forward to the UAE-Afghanistan tri-series and then the Asia Cup."

Pace bowling remains a huge concern. Hope that Wasim junior comes back, but in general the pace bowling is minnow level.

Even bowling 4 overs has become too hard for these guys.

A close series in the end

Pace bowling needs major improvement

Playing erratic and inconsistent Rauf and Hassan (both take wickets but they also go for plenty in almost every game) in the same game is suicidal …. Aa Bael Mujhe Maar..

West Indies were winning lot of deciders last year, this year their cricket has gone down the drain rapidly after Sammy took over.

Good exercise for Pakistan - top order batting for t20s looks good now.

Bowling is a bit iffy

Some clearly deadwood - need removal

M. Nawaz, Khushdil and Hassan Ali, Faheem should never play for Pakistan again

Rather than hoping for this team's failure we should take confidence in the fact that some players are starting to click and some elements are starting to come together.

This team is not a particularly good T20 side and still has alot of weaknesses. But what matters is the approach. And I think they are trying to play a different and more positive brand of cricket that is in-line with the modern demands of the game, which should be appreciated.

When you are trying to build something new, failure is part of the equation. Besides, as Pakistan fans, the kind of lows we have seen in the last two years, nothing these guys do can possibly make this team sink any lower.

Good win by Pakistan, and well done for Salman being selfless but it was nit needed as he is a much better batsman than the fake all rounders Faheem and Khushdil, and even Mohd Nawaz who did not bat this time. The pace bowling is a concern with Hasan Ali and Haris getting preferred over better control bowlers like Abbass Afridi and bowler like Salman Mirza who has better movement with ball.

Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf & Hasan Ali reflect on T20I series win vs West Indies

Shaheen Afridi:

“PSL went well for me, Alhamdulillah, and then I was given rest,”

“When you rest, your body tells you what it needs, so I focused on those areas and worked specifically on my bowling, and what further improvements I could make.”

“We knew the wickets would be on the slower side, so the plan was to bowl as many deliveries as possible on a consistent length,”

“As a bowling unit, we tried to stay disciplined. In such conditions, when you bowl with good length and smart variations, especially against a team like West Indies, it benefits the side.”

Haris Rauf:

“Our plan was simple: to assess the conditions early and stick to the game plan,” he said.

“Coming back from injury and playing matches immediately isn’t easy because I had very little time to train. But as a professional, you have to believe in your skills.”

"I have a lot of belief in my skills, and the season I had in MLC here gave me a lot of confidence."

Hasan Ali:

"Alhamdulillah, coming back after an injury is not easy, especially playing a match straight away. I had very little time to practice bowling."

"There's always time to come back, and I have a very strong belief that you have time; you can come back."

"Bowling against the West Indies batting lineup, I think, is not easy in any condition because they can affect any team or any bowler at any time."

A good series win, but pace bowling needs major work. Shaheen, Rauf and Hasan Ali all need to be kicked out. They are useless.
