Pakistan A beat Zimbabwe A by 8 wickets in the 2nd unofficial Test

Zimbabwe A won the toss and elected to bat
 
Zimbabwe with almost full strength squad whereas Pakistan are actually playing with their C team.
When Maqsood (bottom hand slogger) captains your A team in 4 day matches, tells you a lot about our thought process. He shouldn't be playing 4 day games for Pak A as he's not in contention for the test squad. Players in contention to replace current test players should be playing and first class performers so they are rewarded. I can't recall Maqsood scoring runs in first class circuit.
 
Again showing why Muhammad Asghar is not selected for Pakistan team
 
Good comeback by Pakistan A to get last 8 wickets for 107 runs, looked like they were running away with it at 239/2 but all out for 346.

To be fair to Asghar, his economy was ruined by bowling to Sean Williams who scored 39(46) off of him. Left-arm spinners tend to struggle against left-handed batsman anyway. He's a good player of spin. He scored 71 against us in 2008. Got 22(24) against Afridi and 19(21) off of Malik. Asghar is not bowling to the Zimbabwe A team, but the actual team on absolute roads which are graveyards for spinners. And he still managed to pick up 3 wickets.

Asghar's induction in the team should be less than a year away now, for sure.

Looool an overeaction I think. We are playing West Indies next year in the Caribbean, Asghar should definitely be selected for that tour. We will need an extra spinner to support Yasir can't relay on Zulfi forever now.

Don't have a clue when inzi will call up Asghar though, he deserves a chance! !

I think Inzi is waiting 2-3 years. Asghar is only 17 and spinners usually mature and peak later on in their careers. Also, playing international cricket for 20 years will make him struggle w/injuries. Not like the clock is ticking on him anyway.

17 isn't his real age. I can guarantee you he is between 19-21 years of age.

The PSL isn't the right place to judge a spinner, going off last season. The pitches are offer to much assistance for the slower bowlers.

And with Yasir Shah in the team, the backup spinner will generally only play on spin friendly tracks, so may as well choose someone who performs on them :rehman

I don't think his actual age is 17. He should have at least been in and around the squad.
 
Ideal formats for Asghar will be Tests & T20's.

Asghar has dismissed Asad Shafique once and Younis Kham twice in his short Fc Career. Dismissing Younis is No mean achievement.

In playing eleven in Odis Shadab, Irfan will be preferred over Yasir and Asghar because of batting and even Zafar, Shahzaib & Usama can bat abit whereas Asghar is a number 11 uptil now.


Inzamam should pick Asghar for Tests and T20's initially.


It's good than Inzamam has him with Pakistan A.


People are missing Asghar's Fivefer in List A match in Zimbabwe. Only bowler from Pak side to take a fivefee on this tour uptil now.

mashaAllah another brilliant 30 from Umar Amin. What do we do with this guy.

Surely it's a temperament thing with him. Always pleasing on the eye. Good off the front and back foot with sound technique. He just doesn't seem to have the temperament or hunger to score big regularly. We've seen it all through his international career. someone needs to have a word or 2 with him.
 
Why management forced Umar Amin to play as an opener? He was having such a good tour in middle order and suddenly out of blue came as an opener :facepalm:
 
How can we be sure it was forced. Also not much difference between 1 down and opening
 
The think tank looks totally clueless , isnt Jahid Ali the one who did pretty well in the england tour as an opener and now they have changed his position in the batting order just for the sake of fruitless experimentation.

the team management is worst I have seen; not selecting players according to the format they excel in :facepalm: playing a good opener at #3 :facepalm: playing a good middle order batsman as an opener :facepalm: I would fire the whole team management. Basit Ali was doing such an excellent job; Pakistan need him back as coach

Obviously QEA trophy is very important. Who said cancel it?

PSL includes bigger, better players, better crowds, etc.

So far we've seen Hasan Ali, Sharjeel, Nawaz, Khalid selected baaed on their PSL showings and each one of them has made a claim for their spot in the side.

So obviously QEA and other performances should be taken into account, but IMO PSL should ultimately determine who gets picked.

Well played Shadab currently on 67* (80) balls, clearly one for the future lets see which PSL team picks him.
 
Really happy to see shadab scored a century. He is definitely one for the future.
 
well done shadab, keep going and make it big, surely will be noticed for scoring heavily in an innings particularly on away tours..

Those saying Umar Amin performed poorly because he was played as an opener should note that he was dismissed after scoring 30 runs and playing 40 balls. Any new ball antics and opening nerves must have calmed by then. It was his lack of mental fortitude and fragile temperament that caused his demise, not his abnormal playing position.

I was expecting this duck to be honest. Unfortunately, his class means he will continue to show his mediocrity for years to come. Nature works in mysterious ways. An ugly player is piling runs after runs, whereas an elegant one is piling ducks in the format of his choice at his position of choice.

and ALso this Sohaib Maqsood guy should be no way near 4 day side he is not made for it instead

Ghulam Mudassar has also decent game .he was terrible in last 2 games i hope he is not dropped

Mir hamza is very good for overseas Condition he should be included in the squad for aus
