What's new

Pakistan announce T20I and ODI squads for series against Australia

So, Zahid replaces Nawaz and now we have 3 leggies in the squad😂

Mohammad Wasim is smoking some of the good stuff.

Yes he has had some struggles in whiteball cricket in recent times but, an average of 19 and economy of around 8 in 2021 in T20Is (In his last outing took 3/22), average of 32 in ODIs in the 4 matches he played in 2021 (In his 2nd last outing took 5/51), his ability and contributions with the bat lower down the order along with the fact that he was one of the highest wicket takers across the formats in 2021; overall are not drop worthy by any means in my opinion.

I think his struggles in WT20 and then PSL have made fans recent memories about his skills not that great however, fans need to think beyond a few matches and T20 league. Yes if he doesnt perform or lacks rhythm throughout a coming series or two in whiteball cricket than the questions and thoughts of resting him for someone in form till he gets his form back would possibly be justified but, its far from it as of now.

He also has come back from injury so that's another reason why they could have said he is rested rather than dropped.Arshad Iqbal played 1 t20 and haven't seen him since then.

Do Pakistan have any chance against Aus in Odis they ace odis while Pakistan are complete dud what kind of pitches we will have in Odis on Roads Aus will crush them and on lively wickets our fisherman will be in action another dilemma for Ramiz

Thiers no Warner or Maxwell in the squad.

ODI XI:

1. Imam Ul Haq: I really want to see what Abdullah can do in ODI's but giving a last chance to Imam, In reality he will most likely fail with one decent score & 2 bad outings.

2. Fakhar Zaman: Should be our opener in all limited over matches, expecting 1 single digit score, one inns in 30's & one fifty.

3. Babar Azam: (c) Probably the best ODI player in the world atm, would love to see him score at least 2 centuries vs Australia at home. Fully expect him to score 1 century & 1 fifty in 3 ODI's

4. M Rizwan: (wk) Probably his weakest format, but should do well at home. Expecting him to score one or two fifties.

5. Saud Shahkeel: His game not suited for #5 in ODI's but should give him enough chances to prove himself.

6. Shahdab Khan: Hope he can continue his good form of PSL.

7. Khushdil Shah:

8. M Nawaz:

9. Hassan Ali: One last chance for Hassan Ali to prove himself.

10. Shaheen Shah Afridi:

11. Haris Rauf:

I wouldn't play Saud hes a good player I would rather have an attacking player at 5 thou.

middle order looks very bad, its either grafters or sloggers. A lot relies on Rizwan being able to adapt his game.

The sad thing is we never replaced Haris Sohail

I don't want him to get dropped after only 3 matches in England.

But you got to look at the batters we got batting at the top
Imaam,Babar,Rizwan all play in a similar manner thiers only Fakhar who can destroy a bowling line up.

Play Abdullah Shafique in the middle order and drop Rizwan down to 6.

Once you have Babar. Shafique and Shakeel playing at 3, 4 and 5 you’ll start to see results.

Play:

1. Fakhar
2. Imam
3. Babar
4. Abdullah Shafique
5. Saud Shakeel
6. Rizwan

Use Rizwan as a floater if we get off tons good start (I.e 190/2 after 30 overs)

The batting is stil 1990s you don't need 4 batters in the top 6 as steady batters.
