It's a shame but I truly believe we are the worst team when it comes to finishing in the last 10 overs of a first innings.

Pakistan average around 50 in the last 10 overs which is the lowest by any major playing nation

Why are we so below par when some teams are posting 100+ in the last 10 overs. In this era teams are making 350 and we struggle to make 270 even when the top order has put us in a strong position

Also which team do you think is the best finishing team?

England are the best finishing team, that batting depth means they can tee off without fear.

Rizwan cannot even attempt to hit a shot - i just dont understand. Where is the ugly tailender heave??

Teams make 80-100 and we've barely made 50. Potentially cost us the game

We have skinny little guys playing down the order who will allways struggle on big grounds. You need powerhitters down there, an Abdul Razzaq type of player would have been good.

Sohaib Maqsood could have been a good choice but he is too inconsistent. We simply don't have good hitters available at the monent.

it was equally as worse performance as it was against Nz in t20 worldcup

time have change now from Afridi to razzaq now we have no one at the end baring imad who is decent other

are pathetic

People used to criticise Afridi for scoring around 20 with a strike rate probably over 150, but now at least they realise the importance of such an innings.

and afridi is one of reason we are at 9th in ranking and also finding a very decent all-rounder at the age of

26 imad wasim who should have debut at the age of 23

Sorry this is nonsense Bangladesh is the worst finishing team in the world and if you disagree then you don't watch cricket

There is a massive lack of hitters in pakistan, sadly our best bet is maqsood or giving hammad a proper run

i hope this is sarcasm

Ofcourse not.

Watch Bangladesh vs Afghanistan series.

Everytime we looked good for 320.

Well actually, Zimbabwe are the worst,. Bangladesh second worst followed by Pakistan and this from watching the games closely and not just stats

Not worse than bangladesh

We struggle to score 60 in the last 10 (even with sarfraz) don't think bd is worst

Umar Akmal, Mohammad Rizwan and Imad Wasim are the least convincing power hitters in years.

It's a shame we only have one genuine slogger of the ball and he's right at the top of the order generally giving us a decent start. Yet even his technique and foot movement is questionable to say the least.

Afridi was an answer over a decade ago but we're short of a lower order Sharjeel now.

Worst top order.
Worst middle order.
Worst lower order / finishers.
Longest tail.

What does that tell you about Pakistan's batting strength, especially in ODI's? It shows why Pakistan are 9th out of 10 in the rankings (with only Zimbabwe below Pakistan).

And even then, it's because Pakistan's bowling is still reasonably ok, otherwise Pakistan would be fighting it out with Zimbabwe for the 9th/10th place.

Rizwan is the epitome of sub-par, below mediocre cricketers that our cricket is producing nowadays, just not good enough for International level..

If you wanna look at how Pakistan is as a team, look at Rizwan.. no cricketing sense, no power, so idea how to play pace or spin, no idea how to bat at the death

People will fail to admit it, but we were exposed as a cricket team in the previous ODI, the one we won.. the fact that we were celebrating and actually thought we had a chance against Aussies at home showed our mindset, we're so behind the level of International sides.. yet we pretend we are producing these 'greats' day in day out..

No blame goes to the bowlers.. they've been given peanuts to defend.. a 260 is what we got the first game and we failed while chasing it.. this is how you chase down a 260

Everyone knew heading into this series that we struggle with hitting out in the final 10 overs yet there was no lower order hitter selected in the squad.

Rizwan and Imad are accumulators not players who can guarantee you 80-90 off the final 10 overs.

Why do people simply jump at flash in the pan performances, the general trend of Pakistani cricket is very much set :

Batting in ODIs: <250 ( i think general score line hovers aroound 220)
Bowlers usually defend scores when score is above 275
Bowlers usually restrict others at around 275, I dont think many batting sides score 300+ against Pakistan.

So unless bowlers overperform their already good performance, Pakistan has no decent chance of winning!!

Are we talking about batting or bowling? Hard to tell as the death bowling is almost as feeble as the death batting.

Are there any power hitters in potential power hitters in Pakistan that anyone knows of?
