Looks like all top-order guys are struggling against the short ball (from super quick bowlers) - Grant Flower has his work cut out or this will become an easy ploy from other teams.

Maybe we are up against top quality quicks but even then, there seems to be a lot of panic and lack of technique from Pakistan batsmen.

Both Fakhar and Babar out to short balls. Imam hurt badly trying to play one... Not good for Pakistan.

Malik (as always) struggling as well.

And these are not even proper pitches... world's slowest, least bounciest pitches.

Lockie Ferguson doing well here. This does need working on.

Playing the short ball can be risky, so it made sense for Pakistan to not play at when only chasing a low score.

Asian teams are generally not the best at playing the short ball.

Babar was trying upper cut which just fell short of the boundry. He is good playing short ball. Fakhar on the other hand is so static in the crease which will not help on bouncy surface. Malik has always been timid against short pitch. I know Imran Nazisr lacked patience but, we need smarter version of cricketers like him to succeed playing ball on back foot.

The less players like Imran nazir play for Pakistan the better He lacked a lot more than just patience my friend

To be fair, Babar and Hafeez looked very comfortable. Some batsmen just have better technique on the short deliveries, Hafeez is usually brutal on the quicks who try to bounce him. He might have other deficiencies but he's an excellent hooker/pull shot player.

I think we are making too big a deal. They will adjust. Sideways movement from Rabada etc is a much bigger that.

More important is to be in SA way ahead of time with plenty of side games.

So many many years on, and the problem remains.

Against better attacks in Australia we will be bounced out quite cheaply. All the good bowlers know how much we struggle so they will keep asking this question in every match.

This will be the biggest challenge Down Under for our batsmen.

We even saw how some of England batsmen struggled yesterday, so imagine our batsmen against this sort of bowling.

Asif Ali can’t play short ball with pace, pak batsmen needs to realise that in international cricket nobody will give them juicy half wollys all the time.
They will target your body ribs and head with lethal pace. :lee

They are probably not fully fit which is also one of the reason not able to play short ball properly mincing too much on Aalo channay and Puris which is relished by Saqlain & Moyo
