We have done it. See? We r in the final. :D

Out played by pretty much all teams except Hongkong.

As I am typing this, I hear Nagin song in the back ground :nagin

It's a small world after all.
IIt's a small world after alll.
IIIt's a small world after alll.
IT'S A SMALL WORLD AFTERR ALLLLL.

Haha *** Nagin Nagin dance nachna played in background for Bangladesh

... and... Ladies and gentlemen, on 26th Sep 2018, Pakistan is once again declared the winner of Champions Trophy 2017 after losing to Bangladesh in Asia Cup 2018.

Worst part being this doesnt feel like an upset although being just the 5th win by Bangladesh over Pakistan. They were so mature and in command today as a team overall.

Mustafizur to Shaheen Afridi, no run, blocked out and that's that. This is Bangladesh's first win over Pakistan in the 50-over format in Asia Cup. The DJ at the stadium knows his crowd and guess what's resonating across the stadium: Oh yes, it's the N-A-A-G-I-N. And the crowd go helter-skelter. Need I describe the dance moves?

guess what, i am also dancing in my room quitely ..no ones watching..:P

LIKE I SAID

“Pakistan to be all out for 150-200 runs maybe even worse”

I also said FIZZ will destroy Pakistan batting lineup.

Yep you said it first.

I wanted Bangladesh to win from the start. I never would want a Finals lost to India. Hopefully the trophy is taken home to Dhaka. Good victory for the Tigers. They are extremely under-rated. I love them for knocking out arrogant Afghani team. Hopefully they can do the same to the Indians. Pak-Bangla will celebrate in union.

Before the first innings I also said I have feeling Shaheen might take FIVER if Sarfraz leads and advises correctly. Which he didn’t. Crucial chance between slips was missed off his bowling after he toke a wicket in his first spell. Match was scripted very differently after that. Sarfraz completely lost the plot, and couldn’t find a way to stop the runs.

Congratulations to Bangladesh and their fans, well deserved.

Good luck for the final.

Bangladesh batting is really strong even without Tamim and Shakib. They just need one quality swing pacer to ramble with the new ball with FIZZ. India can be defeated when Rohit and Dhawan are dismissed before 10th over. I think Captaining is capable of chocking the middle order dry of runs

Congratulations to Bangladesh. They were the better team on the day. Pakistan need a serious kick up the backside. We really need to learn to stop throwing our wickets away. Sarfraz needs to learn to move his feet. Very poor showing over the last few games. We need to learn to vary our bowling and stop with the short stuff that goes so horribly wrong. It's becoming all too predictable.

Congratulations to BD. A well deserved victory.

Pakistan should forget this tournament asap and focus on next series.

We've got players and all the think tank must do now is motivate them and polish them to world class standards.

Pakistan team got my 100% support in this tough time.

ARe you in ur senses ??? What arrogant Afghan Team ??????

Congrats bangla and good luck in final. Pretty poor and shameful Asia cup overall for pakistan. Heads must roll, 1st being that of the captain.

Nothing surprising - you can check my post on pre Asia cup predictions. IND is well ahead in Asian condition than remaining pack, any of the 4 can make the other half of Final, though I must say AFGs were 4th in that order.

But, boys kept competing after losing best 2 players in between tournament, which is more appealing for me. Apart from IND, rest are border line minnow in Asia - final hardly matters. We had made 2 of the last 3 finals as well.

This bd win is a slap on those posters who always brushes up a team who were 2 times runners up of asia cup out of last 3 times and those who humiliate bd by proclaiming themselves in to the final ignoring the group match vs bd.

This attitude is called arrogance.
Every team and fans should respect each other.

Is tamim playing FINAL?? There is a rumor around here in BD.

It'll be mistake - never bring batsmen like this. It takes one ball to get out and he'll be useless in field. I can take such risk with bowlers but not batsmen - Shakib would have been quite handy, because he gives excellent balance to the XI.

Profoundly Seconded.

Pakistan got stung by over confidence and complacency. I remember captains' presser before the tournanent started and Safraz clearly appeared to be super confident if not arrogant. He would have never expectef these results.

Lastly, I would say there is no knee jerk reaction requied, just minor tweaks. Pakistan still have a team with all rounders suitable for English conditions and they have proved it. Cannot go off in a tangent now so close to world cup.

Where are those who keep talking Fakhar and Babar up as classy batsmen? That we consider Babar as having a great future shows how we talk up very average players. The bowlers can not do anything when the batsmen can't chase even an average score against a mediocre bowling attack. Asif Ali and Nawaz have done absolutely nothing in the tournament at all. The bowling is fine without being spectacular, again it's the terrible batting that keeps letting us down.

You were one of the posters talking up Fakhar and Babar yourself.

Was I? Where? If you can prove it than give me a telling off as well. Perhaps I said that they were the best from a bad lot.

I am not going to "prove" anything to you. I have seen your posts here boasting about Fakhar and now you are being hypocritical I thought of calling you out for your nuatanki.

Then shut it if you can't prove it! I may have said that Fakhar played a good innings that is not to suggest I ever said he was a good batsman. In fact, recently I have said that he is a slogger that obviously missed you.

Deserved loss, Malik bowling before Shadab, Shadab batting at 6, Kaptaan flailing at a wide one after 2 early wickets, it was almost surreal. Pakistan need introspection, and a lot of it. Forget all and concentrate on the Australia Teat series. Most important is for Sarfaraz to buckle down and concentrate on his game, let his bat and captaincy ro the talking

Congrats to Bangladesh team. But this was a weird game. After getting 3 early wickets, Pak took the foot off the accelerator and let the game slip away. Them shadab coming in before Asif?

Tbh, the way some of the ex player's of pakistan and mickey Arthur were saying that they will see India in the finals showed that they took Bangladesh for granted as if they were there for taking, it's criminal to underestimate ur opponent especially if he has beaten u thrice before this match in this tournament previously.

Pakistan coach, players too were obsessed with facing India in the finals.

Pakistan nearly lost to Afghanistan, if anything they should have focused on the team which they haven't beaten in the last 3 to encounters

Exactly, you have to focus one match at a time, you just can't underestimate ur opponents

Definitely came to me as a surprise given that Pakistan were struggling against Afghanistan and BD have had the better of Pakistan recently. Bangladesh has immense batting depth. Our no. 8 - Miraz has greater batting potential than Sarfaraz. Our bowling lineup is pretty damn good too. Infact this year in ODIs our side has the best bowling average. Agree Pakistan started as favourites with us missing Tamim and Shakib.

I am posting in multiple threads the same thing.. and apologies for that but..

I don't think we should judge Pakistan harshly here. It was just one of those days when nothing went well for the team.

Let's not forget the core of the same team was there in CT17 where Pakistan defeated and humiliated India.

Let's not be over critical of the team.

Throw away these bits and pieces players like Nawaz, Fahim, Sarfaraz, Haris, Aamir, etc and bring specialists.
Get a wicket keeper who can hit hard like Buttler.

Around about a week before the tournament, I made three predictions. One being that Bangladesh will beat Sri Lanka, which was fulfilled the very first day itself, the second being of Afghanistan beating Bangladesh, also fulfilled a few days later, and the third one of Bangladesh playing the final against the either of India or Pakistan. I´d a few tough duals running with my younger brother-in-law and a friend of mine, who both claimed that I was dreaming regarding the third prediction. Bangladesh lost against Afghanistan, my prediction was made fun of, but I stuck to it. They then were thrashed by India in the Super Four, I stuck to my words and lo, it has come true! My simple theory was that this particular tournament, the Asia Cup, is their territory. Ever since their development as a team, it is this tournament where they´ve consistently shone. Tomorrow will be their third final from amongst the last four Asia Cup finals, starting from a near miss on winning the tournament altogether in 2012. I wouldn´t mind them winning the final, as otherwise this will go down as their third defeat in an Asia Cup final. My loyalties lie with Dhoni, obviously. :msd

I see that the Pakistan media has already pressed the panic button and is over-reacting massively, some even asking for Sarfraz to be sacked from captaincy! The same team won them a global event 13 months ago. My advice would be to stick to this set-up and just back the players. Bad things happen, such things are common in sports. Patience, as opposed to impatience, is required at this stage.

Well done BD. Winning without two most sernior and experienced players, Tamim and Shakib. Bowlers bowled brilliantly, the Spinners, part timers and the Fizz did the Bizz (business).

I said it in the pre match thread. Get Fakhar out early, then they’ll tuk tuk it with Babar but he got out early, Malik was the dangerman until he got out and what a catch that was by Big Mash diving like a Tiger in the Sundarbans but if Malik stayed around for long it would’ve been game over, with all his experience. Rest except Two, lack such tense situation experience, in general. Recent times been tonking SL, Zim, isn’t the same when you play against better sides and when your under pressure in such matches but they’ll learn from this experience. With time and experience you get better in handling this type of matches for the future.

I think you are being too harsh on Pakistan. It's the same team which won the CT17. Please don't discard all the success on a few failures, and rubbish the team.

What exactly have the Indians done in this tournament to make them arrogant? Our captain and others were never critical or underestimated the opposition...

That was 2017 and we are in 2018...Time flies and maybe we should not be harsh on dhoni as he played a match winning knock in 2011 to win us the 50 over World Cup

So disappointed by this. Haven't had the time to post regarding this so it's pretty late. When we were 12-3 I thought that Pakistan were going to give a clincal performance. Disappointing to lose from there. Why did Shadab Khan bat above Asif Ali? Awful. I was heart broken.

Babar azam is class batsmen he proves his worth in worldcup 2019

Babar The Bobby Azam outperformed Virat Kohli in this World Cup so far

He did that against Kiwis. He can’t do that in every game.

Has to do it more ooften then not iif he is world class. Look at how often the likes of Kohli do iit and now Sharma as well. Pak fans don't know what "world class" is.
