Pakistan U19 and Bangladesh U19 are set to clash in the second semi-final of the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2025 after impressive group-stage performances from both sides. Bangladesh enter the knockout as unbeaten Group B toppers, while Pakistan qualified as Group A runners-up following a crucial victory over UAE.

Pakistan’s campaign has been built around a few standout batting displays, most notably their 241/9 against UAE, with Ahmed Hussain and Sameer Minhas leading the charge. Their bowling, spearheaded by Abdul Subhan and Mohammad Sayyam, has also delivered early breakthroughs. However, a heavy defeat to India exposed some inconsistency, and Pakistan will need their top order to fire if they are to post a competitive total in a pressure game.

Bangladesh have looked more settled throughout the tournament, combining disciplined bowling with assured batting. Their unbeaten run in the group stage, including a convincing 39-run win over Sri Lanka, has given them strong momentum heading into the semi-final. Zawad Abrar has been their most reliable batter, while Shahriar Ahmed has stood out with the ball.

The two sides have recent history at this level, with Bangladesh having beaten Pakistan comfortably in the 2024 U19 Asia Cup semi-final. Conditions are expected to be balanced, with early assistance for seamers and spinners coming into play as the match progresses.

With a place in the final at stake, Pakistan’s batting depth will be tested against Bangladesh’s disciplined bowling attack, setting up a closely fought contest in one of youth cricket’s most competitive rivalries.

This PK U19 team is amongst the weakest we have seen in recent years. The batting is pretty awful and the bowling only a little better. It maybe that they are genuinely U19, or they are not just very good.

Another Bangladesh vs Pakistan knockout game at junior level....

Pakistan looks weak in front of them tbh.

Pakistan batting has been very timid and defencive but what i seen of Bangladeshi opener very attacking and positive Bangladesh definitely favourites

ACC Men's U19 Asia Cup

Pakistan v Bangladesh at The Sevens Stadium, Dubai

Toss has been delayed due to rain

If it is a washout, BD are through to final.

An official from the Emirates Cricket Board confirmed that there is no reserve day in place for the semi-finals. “If the matches cannot be played due to rain, the top team from each group will automatically qualify for the final,” the official stated.

Should that scenario unfold, India from Group A and Bangladesh from Group B will progress directly to the title clash, which is scheduled to be held on Sunday at the ICC Academy.

Two best teams in the tournament if they contest the final they deserve it

Forecast i am seeing is no rain rest of the day showing some windy conditions
It’s not just about the rain, these grounds have no drainage facilities. They are practice/training grounds, I will be extremely surprised if we have these games today.

Looks like we are heading towards a Bangladesh vs India final... wet outfield is not gonna be easy to get rid off on these grounds...

Boyz - is there a seperate thread for India vs Sri Lank Semifinal Asia Cup U19 or any generic thread? whats happening there / any updates?

Happy the kirkoot has started - even though my team india vs SL could be a washout...
two Wikoots down...good start for Pak boys.
Must say Ali Raza is a good prospect. Tall and good frame, Good rhythmic runup, good release and pace. Should only get better with age and experience. Also feel bowling action similar to Aqib Javed.

I straight away notice two aspect that can be improved.

Follow thru is abrubtly ending, not prolonged and needs about 1.5 steps more -the effect of this will be long term towards back injuries. And secondly not enough pulley action with the free arm/left arm, does not drive left arm enough - if he does this more effectively - can surely add on more pace.

Can always count on Bangladesh to stuff it up against any Pakistani side . It's like they're not even trying.. ..

Bangladesh U19 all out for 121.....

122 should not be that difficult but with Pakistan batting, you never know

Dissapointed with the coaches at the grassroots. Still the same “ Aerial shot maari tou ground kay 10 chakar” mentality. Pick the talented lot. Let them express.

The batters definitely can play some shots but they are strictly hold back by the coaches , definitely a toxic environment to be in as a batter.

the more aggressive they play the more confidence they will get and then they will start timing it better.

To be honest I didn’t like Minhas innings today , almost half of his boundaries were not properly timed.

Pakistan U19 seal 8-wicket win over Bangladesh U19 in U19 Asia Cup semifinal

Pakistan Under-19s produced a commanding performance to defeat Bangladesh Under-19s by eight wickets in the second semifinal of the Under-19 Asia Cup at Dubai on December 19, 2025. The rain-affected contest was reduced to 27 overs per side, but Pakistan ensured there was little doubt about the result as they chased down the 122-run target with 63 balls to spare and booked their place in the final.

Bangladesh, batting first, struggled against disciplined bowling and were dismissed for 121 in 26.3 overs. Samiun Basir top scored with 33 off 37 balls, while captain Azizul Hakim contributed 20. The rest of the batting lineup failed to build partnerships as wickets fell regularly. Abdul Subhan was the standout performer, claiming 4/20 in his six overs and earning the Player of the Match award. He was well supported by Huzaifa Ahsan (2/10), while Ali Raza, Mohammad Sayyam, and Ahmed Hussain chipped in with a wicket each.

In reply, Pakistan’s chase was anchored by Sameer Minhas, who struck an unbeaten 69 off 57 balls with six fours and two sixes. Usman Khan added 27 from 26 deliveries, ensuring the target was achieved comfortably. Pakistan’s clinical display with both bat and ball highlighted their dominance and secured their spot in the tournament final.
